- As a tech worker I need to be able to rely on my internet connection to do my job, and there was an Aspen tree on my property that was causing me no end of headaches with my Starlink connection. Since I had to take the tree down, I was determined to ensure that the wood from the tree would go to good use, so I got a chainsaw mill and got to work. Over the course of the summer I would mill up the tree into logs, creating boards for current and future projects, what was too small for boards would become firewood, and the limbs would go into the bent-wood project on my outdoor shower. Taking it down worked like a charm and my upload speeds improved immediately.

Cool project dude! I’m up in Rainbow Lake
Thanks - Rainbow lake is beautiful. I tried to use every bit of the tree in project work that I could - I hated to cut it down, but made good use of the wood. I'll be putting out videos on all of the improvements I made using this wood soon. Thanks for watching!
Interesting info about your tree.
Thanks - Once peeled the outside of the tree turned this interesting salmon pink color for about 12 hours, then gradually changed through tan to brown as the layer under the bark oxidized. It was kind of cool, but tough to get on film. Thanks for watching!
