Exploring Remote Hilltop Mines

- When our day first started, my buddy Owen and I did not expect to come across as many artifacts as we did so high up in these mountains. Like many of the mines in the area, primary mining was copper, lead, zinc and silver as well as molybdenum used during WW2. We put in a good amount of miles and elevation gain getting to the five different mine sites. In my opinion, we saved the best for last and were pleasantly surprised at what we found high up the wash. Enjoy!

really good explore, you guys were like mountain goats, scampering up one side and skiing down the other...you looked really comfortable in that newly rejoined ore cart...😎👍
Steep mountains are our domain what can I say 😁 Thanks for watching!
😂😂😂👍
This is the best mine explore site video I have watched. simply amazing site and very detailed explanation and commentary
Awesome, awesome explore! So many discoveries! Thanks for taking us along, we really appreciate it and it all reminded us of our 'younger' days! Great job guys!
Awesome finds and great mountain top views thanks for taking us along.
That was awesome. You guys found so much cool stuff.
Thanks Naomi! Lots to be found at these really hard to get to sites. Thanks for tagging along on this one
I love your videos. Altho I find the mine exploration interesting what I love most is just seeing the trails and surrounding landscape that you're walking on.
As alway an awesome video and explore. Love your channel. Thanks for sharing. Alway love to see what you find in the mines.
Finding a tromel at that altitude and so remote is amazing especially for back when it operated.
Normally a tromel is used in Placer mining but the one you showed was clearly a lode mine. Very interesting find.
As always a great video. Can't make up my mind what I like more, the mines or the scenery.
Hi Jerith, another awesome explore of an abandoned mine site. There were so many cool things you both found out there, it was great to see that old engine block and the trestle too. That (I think it was) tram station with the 4 wheels still intact was a unique find, I've never seen one like that before.
An absolutely amazing day's explore and you also put that old ore cart back together too.
Thank you for sharing, much love. xx ❤
Hey Sue! Thanks for stopping by, that was the upper tram station with the four sheave wheels. It was pretty hard getting the ore car up the pile but definitely worth the effort.
@@WesternMineDetective Yes definitely worth the effort, much love. xx
So much neat stuff. I liked that blasting cap tin. The ore car was cool. Great explore!
The blasting cap tin was awesome to see especially since it had basically the whole label intact. Pretty rare to see like that!
GOAT video. Bravo.
Thanks alot! Much appreciated.
Wish my knees were up to hiking hills !
Great content as usual !
Enjoyed this explore guys, you sure did a lot of walking. Cheers
that was a very good video.
Wow! It’s like I just got to rewatch our entire day!! Amazing vid, I can’t wait for the next 😏
Hehe yeah most recording I've ever done by far. Pretty much everything we seen or did was badass. Thanks for watching as well as for the explore!
Awesome trip
Excellent :)
Nice video, guys. Good stuff for sure!
Awesome stuff guys!!! Next time come pick me up bud!

@@WesternMineDetective LOL ive got transportation if you fellas are in az ever lmk :)
@@VendettaProspecting Ohh awesome haven't done much out in AZ. I'll keep you posted if we're out there.
Good job by the way. Stay safe !
I really want to stay in Nv or AZ. I'm close to both !
Hell yeah! Both states got much to offer in terms of mines and abandoned sites.
That is really neat. Thank you for the video. Is there any chance you can tell me the location. Thanks in advance
Yeah! I have N FJ just like yours. It’s a tank. :)
They definitely are! I'm impressed by Owen's I'd love to get one.
Newspaper has important date information don't give up
I always wonder why these solid looking dynamite boxes are always smashed up? You would think there would be hundreds even thousands of them if you imagine they use 2 or 3 cases a day for 30 years! Where are they all?
Hello from Denmark
Thanks for watching from Denmark! Hope you enjoyed.
Hello
At 6:26, under the box, I can see what looks like an old whiskey bottle with a cork.
I didn't notice that! Not sure but it might have been a modern plastic bottle. Thanks for watching.
Does he have a TEMU bag on
Where do you initially find out about these mines my good fellow?
I find out by many means, whether it's searching on Google maps, word of mouth, sites like Mindat that even tell you what commodities they were mining, etc etc. Lots of research is involved.
Where about is this? Like to do more research on it
Fantastic! At 30:00 when you said "how are we gonna get up there". How did the miners get up there and operate day to day?
I know right! Basically they were a different breed of men willing to make anything happen to reach their goals. We eventually figured it out but man I couldn't imagine those mountains everyday.
Imagine going back in time abd witnessing it being operated
@@rrios283s73 photos of this mine while in action would be awesome
How did they get all the equipment up there .?
