Oooooooooo weeeeeee that looks good!!! Yes that's a meal that is hard to beat!
I just found you on the internet and I really love watching you cook. My father was from Tenn and he cooked like you and so do I, but I have learned alot from you. He left Tenn in 1930 and settled in SC. Thank you for all the great cooking videos. Thank you again, Sharon
As usual Lady, you’ve got everyone on this channel standing in line to get up to your table. Everything looks so so country good and sure your family simply loves your cooking. So much reminds me being at Moms’ house ... sure miss those wonderful days. Everything looked so delicious.
Thank you Harold 😀
I miss my mom's cooking too.
Yes sir, she always serves up something good!
It's like spending time with a friend in her kitchen. Thank you.
I love how everyone comes in to the kitchen to make their own plates. The Stew Beef looks soooo good. I always love how Matt shows us his plates of food....like he's saying "come on over & get some of these good eats!!!" Hugs & blessings to you & your family.
What a wonderful meal! We had chicken, taters and flat dumplins, turnip greens, white beans with carrots and cornbread for supper this evenin. Like Momma says, "Over the lips and through the gums, watch out tummy, here it comes!" 😃
Sounds great!
That much food would feed me for a week but it sure sounds good!
I liked your momma’s saying,
Love your mama. Bet she was a hoot
Simple food rings the bell for me! ❤️
Me too 😀
Love the supper cooking and especially the random ending!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😀
I just want to reach thru the screen and grab a slice of that cornbread! Looks so good!!
Oh my Lord, that looks sooooo good. My sweet little mama made cornbread every single day. My favorite home cooked meal is cornbread, fried potatoes, fried yellow squash, pinto beans and fresh cut vegetables and a cold glass of milk. Now that's a gourmet supper in my eyes!!!
That is fine eating 😀
@@CelebratingAppalachia What do you fry the squash in? Do you bread it?
@@tamararutland-mills9530 I do 😀 I have video about fried squash you can check out. But basically I dip it in a milk egg mixture and dredge in flour and cornmeal that has been seasoned with salt and pepper.
My grandma came from Appalchia and was cousins of the Carter family. Grandma and Maybelle were cousins. Grandma ended up in Idaho and this is exactly how she cooked! The one thing she made in the spring was wilted dandelions in bacon with vinegar and sugar and onions. Cooked on a wood cookstove until grandpa was gone and then went to electric. She hated it. Made the best soft rolls and bread ever and to this day I use the turkey neck and gizzards for a broth and then cook wide noodles in the broth. She was feeding a family of 20 humans so to this day I still make the noodles in turkey broth. Love your channel!!!!
I grew up in Eastern Kentucky and I love watching your videos. You make me so hunger. Brings back memories of how good food used to taste.
Pro tip: never buy packaged stew meat from the store unless you have a long time to tenderize it. The packs of stew meat are often left over scraps from different cuts of meat. If you're struggling, it'll work, but you'll find it to be much better if you purchase a roast and cut it up yourself. It'll cook more evenly and be far more tender.
I find a roast much easier to stew because I can take the whole thing and sear it in a cast-iron plan before adding it to the crockpot. Can’t really do that with little pieces of cubed beef.
Thank Tipper for sharing this great meal. That makes me hungry.
Glad you enjoyed it Donnie 😀
So many of us love spending time with you in your kitchen. I hope you know that you and Matt are loved like kin and if you’d ever need a thing thousands would be wanting to help out. You’re very self sufficient but just know that you have friends.
Open a B and B. You’ll make a fortune. Love this family
my son walked in while you were chopping your cabbage for the slaw and he saw you use your hands to get it out of the bowl, and he says"daddy that woman uses her hands too just like you do" I laughed... and if you want to live dangerously, add a small package of regular orange jello to your no bake cheese cake, it will taste just like those dream cicles we had as kids! it's amazing... ok my tip for the week, you have made me hungry so I am off to fix dinner! God Bless you!! thanks for the videos!
😀 I love that Mitch! Thank you 😀
Supper is looking mighty good.
Pickled beets is an old favorite for me, my great Aunties and grannies kept us well supplied back in the day, and I will still make then when I can. Looks darn tasty!😍
Looks so good miss my moms good cooking y'all take care God Bless All praying for peace.
Thank you 😀
What a delicious supper to sit down with.
This reminded me of Mom and home and all the things I have to be thankful for. Beautiful meal, beautiful family, but today my absolute favorite was the drinking glass with Hamburger Rustler from Hardee's on it. So long ago ,but never forgotten. There were no drive thrus back then. You got out of your car ,no choice.Have a beautiful week Love from S.C . .
When we had beef stew growing up, my Daddy always wanted a bunch of juice in it. Most of the time Mother always made biscuits to have with it .My Daddy, after the meal would break open a biscuit and ladle the juice over the biscuit and let it soak, he called it brown gravy, though it didn't have any flour in it. Sometimes he'd sprinkle a little sugar over it. I can tell you that combination was very good.
Awe I'm telling Matt I didn't notice Tipper wearing her wedding ring when she was cooking that yummy food. lol
Love your show I’m so hungry right now. Thank you so much ❤🙏🇨🇦
Oh lordy. Your fam is just like mine...killer southern food and a funny dad who brings up Sat. Night Live. To silence. Oh, dads. Just eat and hush it. 😂
You make slaw exactly the way my Mama taught me to make it! I've done it that way for a good 50 years. I've never heard of pickled squash so very interested in that.
Here in Texas we make what we call Irish Beef stew…I make mine with a large sliced onion, potatoes, carrots, and I may put some beef stock in then Add a small can of tomatoe sauce and then cook that all together in a crock pot on low all day then have it with cornbread …nothings better on a cold or rainy day than beef stew and cornbread 🥰
Great plate of food, and dessert too. 😊love your family. God bless ❤
I'm hungry! God bless.
Yummy!!!!! Tipper you always make me so hungry, that’s my kind of food❤️
I’m making this today also! My parents were both from West Virginia. I moved to FL from the Shenandoah mountains. I still cook like I’m used to!
I grew up eating cornbread with beef stew, I am a dunker. We do put carrots, large chopped onion, a couple of bay leaves, and some chopped celery in ours and that is just because that is how my mother and my grandmother made it. Slaw goes with just about anything, IMHO. =)
I loved that "you have pie"? Yes. Your cooking is so familiar I knew what it smelled like while watching. Just love stopping by and watching you cook. Thanks for sharing your life.
😀 Thank you!
Yummmm I love beef stew with gravy & egg noodles
That sounds great 😀
You're lucky to still have grannies......both of mine died in 1993
My mother used to make slaw with cabbage, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, salt, pepper and cream. I would tell you it was good but I only remember watching her make it. I can't remember eating it. Back in those days I only ate cornbread, milk and onions with an occasional mater biscuit.
Mommy has been dead for almost 50 years but I have vivid memories of watching her cook, quilt, sew and garden.
I'm sorry I was late watching this video but I was waiting for the State of the Union speech! Ha! Ha! Actually Dusty came and we went worked cleaning off the garden. When it got dark we came inside and I showed him some chords on the guitar. We talked until it was his bedtime and he still had to drive 30 minutes back home.
I bet her slaw was good! Glad you and Dusty got to visit 😀
I like recipes with simple ingredients. !!!
Those with whatever spices and with names I never heard Of
Is off limits to me.
Tq for sharing.
That's what I'm talking about right there. That's good eating.😋
Tipper how did you know that's what I'm having for supper tonight yummy good
😀 Love that Randy!
True awesome country meal
Whole lot of love on that table. I make my slaw the same way except for the milk, and i add a small splash of cider vinegar. Thank you so much for sharing this Tipper.
That looks so good!! I love Stewart beef with cornbread!!
I really loved the family reunions as a kid with all the many recipes of cole slaw and potato salad.Thank you for bringing back so many fond memories !
my compliments on your beautiful kitchen!
Appreciate all that you do mam. You have saved and taught so much to so many. You have saved the history and lived it. God bless you mam. And your cookin is awesome. 😁❤️🌲🌲🌲❤️
I would love to have a pan of her cornbread. It is the prettiest I have ever seen.
Tipper, I love how your cornbread just slides out of the pan when it's done and there is a crunch to it when the knife hits the fresh hot cornbread. That's the way to make good cornbread! That meal is fit for a king!
Watching this at 9:00 p. m. Now I I'm hungry again.
Making me hungry
😀
Yum yum!
I love the food you cook it's the food I grew up on not to many family's eat like that anymore 🥣🥤
I've never heard of anyone making coleslaw with beef stew. Very interesting!
Love this meal. God bless you
growing up in Copperhill my Dad, Brother and myself would argue over who got the stalk. We three loved it.
😋 omgoodness! I wish I was sitting at your dinner table! Yummy!!
Mighty delicious looking meal…yummy!
I love my cornbread with a good crunch like yours😃
That's my favorite part 😀
@@CelebratingAppalachia I always give the skillet a lil shake and get some of that grease on top🥰
@@sandraheassan378 😀
Good meal yum yum!! You are a treasured cook.
One of many favorite meals 😋
MMM MMM MMM... now that's my kind of supper!! I too crumble the cornbread to allow the juice to soak it all up. Gooooood Eatin'!! :-)
We'd always put a cap or 2 of vinegar and some mustard too.
What a beautiful meal!
I add chunks of carrot, celery, onions, garlic, and lots of black pepper to my stew beef. I often add mushrooms at the end as well.
Looks so wonderful 😍
My mother makes a Welsh beef stew with dumplings. Served with thick slices of crusty bread. I love walking into her home to the smell of stew bubbling away on the stove. Takes me right back to childhood.
Sounds so good!
Mother only made slaw when the mayo jar was almost empty. She put a little vinegar, milk, sugar, salt and pepper in the jar and shook it good. That was her dressing. She made tasty slaw that I've never been able to duplicate.
It all looks amazing ! Thank you.
Beef stew is my all time favorite meal ...along with shepherds pie ..
👍 yep- this looks so good! Thanks for sharing. The Lampe’s
That's a meal Ms. Tipper fit for a King! Yeah, I'm one of those Duke's people too.
Tipper…I think you and I are about the only girls from the south that prefer Hellman’s. 😂. I make my slaw with a little bit of carrots, onions, cabbage and the dressing is a little bit of vinegar, sugar and Mayo. I’d be delighted with your meal tonight. Thanks!
I'm not a girl but I am an old man and been cooking since Mama broke her arms in 1954 and needed help. Now that was awhile ago! She used and I use Hellmans.
I tasted Dukes once and threw it out as it was awful to me.I hate to waste food but it was that bad.
Thank you Rhonda 😀
@@donnasue9749 I’m mighty fine Donna! Any news from your foster child’s family? I hope you’re doing well too. 💕
@@buzsalmon wonderful that you were able to help your Mama. Poor thing, two broken arms. 😔
@@donnasue9749 I surely can’t imagine how frightened they must be. God’s Will Be Done! 🙏🏻. Thanks for the update. 😉
Tipper, I love your cooking videos! This meal looks delicious!
Me to, I’ll take Hellman’s over Dukes any day, I tried to Dukes when, it came to area and, I didn’t like it, for me it just wasn’t cracked up to all they say it is. I’ve always loved Hellman’s. Tonight’s supper looks good, thanks for sharing and God Bless!
I love your cooking videos - thank you! My granny (Bristol TN) sliced her cabbage and made a dressing of mayo, apple cider vinegar and sugar to toss it in. Salt to taste, and I could eat a white bowl full. P.S. I appreciate that you are cooking in a REAL kitchen, with lots of utensils and food and in the background. It looks like a real house where someone lives and cooks!! Not a show. (Bonnie)
😀 Thank you!
What a great meal. Another one for the record. Thanks 😊 for sharing. I run out of ideas sometimes of what to cook. Making this 1 tomorrow. God bless.
That is some good ole comfort food right there. And everyone was chomping at the bits to get to it. Thanks for sharing

❤ love watching your videos! It's often on my way to work, so listening then.
I have a 40 min drive then 8 to 12 hour day.
I have feel I have missed so much on just getting to be a wife and homemaker. I don't even have a professional job.
I am an industrial heat treater. One of only 2 women who work where I do.
Instead of beacon grease I use vacuum grease and quench oil. Lol❤
😊 So glad you enjoy what we do!! Thank you!!

Wonderful presentation 👍
Lovely Dinner 🌻🌻
I put onions and carrots in mine that I grow, along with the potatoes. I make a roo. I do cook mine all day in the crock pot, drain the juice out the last hour that I use with with roo.
I know the feeling comfort food is the best Just like breakfast - beans on toast with eggs and sausages; banana peppers, topped with feta cheese drizzled with honey. Alongside a smoothie. Ingredients; mango, banana, strawberry, pomegranates, peaches, pineapples, a couple of figs, two spoonfuls of peanut butter, couple spoonfuls of honey and vanilla yogurt a little water and blast it up in a blender -- yummy
Sounds so good 😀
A wonderful meal for everyone! I noticed the scraps being set aside - Chickens had a wonderful meal as well.
YUM. Mmm. Dang!

Hello Pressley family. We are so happy to have discovered your RUclips channel. Our family of 4 from Columbus Ohio has always had a strong passion for learning about and celebrating the many unique aspects of traditional Appalachian culture. We enjoy watching your videos everyday because there is a lot for us (from a big city) to learn and because it is a way for us to surround ourselves in a rural environment in our own home that makes us happy. My mom is from Zanesville Ohio and some of the Smokey Mountain English vocab words, she knows. My dad is from Columbus but has a big garden in which he grows many vegetables and fruits as well as multiple fig trees every year. Thank you all for putting in the effort, time and energy into making well scripted/formatted, authentic, inspiring and sincere videos about Appalachia!
Welcome and thank you so much 😀
