I think it's just some dude who download a bunch of stuff. In the comments on the song "Seconds," he said a lot of it came from WeenFTP before they died and that a lot of it is still available via torrent.
I am so stuck on Ween. I have this play list and this is the first song. It puts me in the weird trance and I get so much work done. I will listen to whole albums but I was seem to drift to my long list of B sides.
I'm considering compiling my own WEEN album and tricking my mind into believing it's a real release. This way I don't have to accept that WEEN is gone.

I wonder if there's a real name for this song. Dean Ween said in a Facebook post, that this was done before Quebec's Argus and The Argus part 2 isn't the name of this track. I guess we'll never know.
@dylanfan1969 I guess that's the great thing about Ween...every song they do is completely different than the last. You don't like one, try the next one. Something for everyone. For example, I think Woman and Man is the best song on LaCucaracha.
Argus and Argus pt.2 are based on a story of a being that roams the earth in all earth's flatland. he's known to be Argus. "and the Argus has practiced compassion with an eye on you as one is on me..... will the 'GOD EYE ' grant his forgiveness and allow he that's lived a reason to see " basically the being (Argus ) was created to see. and the so called GOD EYE is his creator. pt.2 is based on the same relation to the first titled track but, speaks more towards the search of pure soul. ween sings and tells jonny in pt. 2 to call on Argus. the rest is on and about a moment of observation of The Argus. The Argus is also in common with the The Stallion pt 3 from Pure Guava.
Argus is actually a commonly recurring name in Greek mythology meaning "All-Eyes". The most famous bearer of the name, and the likely subject of the Ween song off of Quebec, was Argus Panoptes; a hundred-eyed giant whose second name means "All-seeing" (Magna eyes the track for miles) A servant of Hera, it was Argus who slayed the serpent-legged monster Echidna and was tasked by Hera with protecting a white heifer chained to an olive tree at Nemea. Unbeknownst to Argus the heifer was actually the nymph Io in disguise, who Zeus desired to couple with to establish a new order. To overcome Argus' watch Zeus tasked Hermes with slaying the giant (Sacrifice the Argus). Hermes disguised himself as a shepherd and put all of Argus' eyes to sleep with spoken charms (Lying in beds of garlic and orchids // He closes an eye, which closes another) and slew him with a stone. To honour her fallen watchman, Hera weaved his hundred eyes into the design in the tail feathers of the peacock (And in sleep he dreams, of watching and looking // And feather clouds dancing, he curls up his lid and sleeps...).
@@kingkalamari6689 ok thats a cool story and all but what does it mean in the context of the lyric's song and the album? Also what about "its only man's fear that carries him on"
@Linkous12 Ya no joke! There is enough Ween treasures here on you tube to make 3 more vol. of shinola. some of my favorites are Eye to the sky, Kim smoltz, argus 2, enabler, Puerto Rican power, and love will conquer all. I like the original Argus way more, This one is way too upbeat.. Although ween is ween and this song is amazing, Not a Argus Song though, Sorry. (the original Argus song on Quebec is one of my favs)
I consider myself a true Ween fan, but I think that LaCucaracha is not that good. Only half the songs are good. They should have added the songs off the friends ep and taken off songs like, Learning to Love and Woman and Man, and also, Shamemaker and The Fruit Man. These songs are just really boring. A lot of the songs posted here are MUCH better than them....
The real question is, "Who is destr100, and why does s/he have all these awesome outtake songs?"
maryebz he probably just downloaded them from browntracker.. there is alot more there that isn't here
my guess it's either Micky, Aaron, or Andrew. good question, WHO?

The low quality is sort of the charm but id stilk give it a listen.

same here dude. it's #1 on my 'shinola 2' playlist. I'm just gonna say it. it's my favorite b side. but I've been blown away by so many. ...
This song is so cool. The first line of the tune cracks me up every time. So weird.
Wish you guys would play this live one of these days

Definitely sounds like it was done before Quebec's Argus.
It sounds kind of like Little Birdy so I'd imagine it was written during that time.
I know this is a year later, but this was actually written around the time of little birdy.
Instead of The Argus Part 2, I'd rather call it Call On Argus. Much more accurate in my opinion.
sounds like mollusk era. reminds me of 'kim smoltz'
Slept on piece of sheer beauty.

Maybe the Argus knows the Man From the Flatlands
Damien Gallegos .... didn't Deaner say the Argus thing started bc of a steel mill they would drive passed on the way to Claude's house?

To honour her fallen watchman, Hera weaved his hundred eyes into the design in the tail feathers of the peacock (And in sleep he dreams, of watching and looking

But please, tell me, where exactly in this story are they postulating their own framework?

I originally thought it was, "Johnny had a bad hair cut that day," but apparently it's "hair color day." I still hear it the other way though.
I’ve always heard “bad hair color day”, which makes the most sense, obviously.
