I only got into that album when The Final Kill version came out last year. I had a bad copy as a kid and ignored it. I love it these days

I'm lucky I got original mix on vinyl, I just like that raw and crappy sound! Of course, if I want to listen more clear and bright, I would go with newest remaster, but this album and So Far... I prefer originals.

I actually prefer Mechanix to The Four Horsemen. And it's not me being a poser, it's just the fact that this song is Dave's and you can clearly hear his touch on the riffs. What Metallica did was a great song, but with Metallica touch on Dave's riff. Mechanix on the other hand is the pure version of it. This just sounds better when it's faster and sung by Dave. I'm not saying that Dave sings better than James, he clearly doesn't, but this rough, brutal song just needed the angry voice and speed, not some ambitiius proggresion and master vocals. The Four Horsemen have clearly better lyrics, but again - this song is brutal and rough, it fits fucking on a gas station better than some biblical story. Metallica is just too caring for this killer yet basical composition

I agree with you about the originals vs remasters. Even if the remasters technically sounded better, I'd still have issues with them. Primarily it's this George Lucas-like continuous updating, robbing cultural artefacts of context that bugs me. like, not to mention removing or pasting over the hard work of others. Fuck that. ...it may sound or appear raw, but people worked hard with limited resources to get that out there. Rant over.

I love this album. It’s my fifth favorite Megadeth album. I love The Final Kill version, but I do agree that the original version of These Boots is the best. I can’t stand the 2002 remastered version of the song (which I call "These Beeps"), and, while the 2018 version with Dave's re-recorded vocals is not bad, the original is the best.

If drugs and alcohol have a sound they sound like Killing Is My Business...and Business Is Good. The stuff Dave and the others were using at the time created Megadeth. You need those "poisons" to create and record this kind of music. For better or worse. Some survive it without losing the mind and some don't. Dave and Dave Jr. did.

I like Megadeth's drug-era albums the best. I'm glad they got sober and are still here alive after all that, but the influence of the cocktail of alcohol and drugs they were on definitely had an influence on the already angst-driven Mustaine after he was booted from Metallica.

Subbed you back. I have two copies of that album, an American and a European. It is very raw and more than a little under produced IMHO. Great stuff.

Hi, I remember 1st hearing it back in 86 & it blew me away then & it still sounds classic...the remixed, remastered albums are crap...a case of Dave M rewritting history...Cheers Greg 🍻

the 2018 re re release of this record is the worst especially the re recording of These Boots. Love the original and the cover skull. Chosen Ones and Rattlehead ftw!
