You've not been offered the full experience Danny. I am a bit disappointed in Ye Olde Pastie place. But then again, it just shows how normal and working class the wonderful people of Bolton are. Wow! 👌🏼 Even though they are not as great compared to Ye Olde, due to traditional and historical establishment, the Carr's pasty is delicious, no doubt. Many say that they prefer Ye Olde, but don't enjoy Carr's. But really, they do! I have eaten more Carr's cheese potato pasties than all Ye olde savoury treats in total! Carr's are more accessible and are everywhere! I refuse Gregg's! Now their pasties are not great, can't compare! 👌🏼👌🏼 Big up Boltonian businesses 🙂👍🏼
I think this might be my favourite video yet 💜💜
I love everything about this video, its all just so beautiful. I'd like to keep this lady in my pocket, she's adorable.
What a great day Our Dan had going to Bolton 💜
I like to see Danny is enjoying his food. If he says "Oh My God" all these times you know it's good.
@@fredarcher7264 Nothing strange about saying it. It's true. He says "oh my god" after the first bite. He does that every video, except maybe three takeaways where the food was lousy. As for him enjoying the food, it is good to see. Having been out of work due to COVID for 6 months, it's good to see Danny have money to eat well.
The most British video I've seen for a good while
I could honestly see this becoming a TV show. Danny is so likeable that it would work.
Yeah much better on youtube
Well DaymDrops is on netflix
Yeah but who tf watches tv nowadays
Maybe think of doing a syndication deal, get a spot on a food or travel channel.
I had a bad day...watching this to cheer myself up.
Great video Danny and what a lovely lady you can see why they have been around for 121 years great food and a great welcome and the history all that for £6 bet you would pay about £12 in Greg's for that Greg's is a rip off
And it would taste shite
If I still lived in the North I'd be straight in there, looks fantastic.
Just started watching & seen your order.
I used to work in the building opposite.
Where is your tray with peas & gravy man!
And where is your pea soup to start off with?
You've not been offered the full experience Danny.
I am a bit disappointed in Ye Olde Pastie place.
But then again, it just shows how normal and working class the wonderful people of Bolton are.
The pastry is proper nanna pastry.
You needed pastie, peas & gravy lad, about 10 butties with butter & mebies a bottle of Tommy K or Brown sauce.
Just watching you now - work friends used to pi55 themselves laughing as I tucked into wrestling a Vanilla Slice.
Keep saying it, but you missed peas & gravy.
Loved this, one of my old haunts.
Bolton people are some of the best folk in the world.
Cheers for this Danny - brought back happy memories of my days in Bolton.
Six Pounds?!
One pint in London costs more than that feast.
Awesome grub.
I was thinking that. I'm getting ripped off.
I thought I misheard.
This is what makes me miss home! Not lived in Bolton for 14 years now, but watching this makes me want a pasty haha. You will never get a shop like this anywhere! Growing up I lived on these and carrs pasties. I think that would be a good one for you to compare Danny. There is also hunters ( Molly bemfoms) in Bolton as well. I said they are the main 3. Think a trip home is due…
Hi Anthony. Same here left Bolton at 13, and moved to Mallorca, lived on Carrs pasties when I was at Smithills school. Great to watch someone like Danny bring back the memories!!!!!
@@petergolding8523 hi Peter, totally get what your saying. I’m a halliwell Lad and this was my daily diet haha. Went to Thornleigh, and everyday on the way home I would call in. It has brought back so many memories , and just hope he try’s Carrs next.
Love the pasties all the food is amazing quality and taste, the ladies in the shop always lovely and very welcoming and that lady (Mrs Walsh) she is always working in the shop. 10/10 for us we love it ❤️
To get the two pastries for £6 would be a bargain here in Sweden. That whole lot looks amazing!
A bargain for all those delicious pasties and pastries. I was hestorical
watching Danny munch into those cream pastries, with all the cream round his gob and oozing from the pastry itself then down his jacket. What a lovely lady and a fabulous old fashioned pastry shop. Nice one Danny😉👍👍👍
That's some wholesome content Danny. Thanks!
I haven't been back to Bolton for decades, won't tell you how many though. Thanks Danny I remember this place as a child. I live over here on this side of the pond always meant to get back to my hometown of Bolton and after this Covid mess is over I will come home. I just love the way you interact with people Danny you are the real deal for sure don't ever change!
That place looks amazing. Better then greggs. I really wish there were more local bakeries in the U.K.. and didn’t charge £7 for a donut
Blame your council for what they charge in shop rents. Only massive chains can afford it and keep the price affordable. I don't know how this place does it, they must be doing it more for the love of it than actually making money.
Come to Bolton their are tons, like this you've got Carrs etc.
@@TheDoosh79 shops are for the vast majority privately owned and rented out, you are talking about business rates and a possible rent control and you are totally correct we should and need too. However, to do it we'll need a new government.
Also Ye Olde Pasty Shoppe is extremely popular, at lunch their are always queues going all the way down the road, they make a decent amount for sure.
@@TheDoosh79 If it's 120 years old there's a fair chance they own the building freehold. No way they could sustain those prices if renting these days.
@@TheDoosh79 they do it because in Bolton most of us will go to here or Carr's for a pastie not a big chain
Great video as always. Love how you’ve got time for people. Such a lovely lady and nice to learn a bit of the history of the place. Such a shame our town centres aren’t busier. I agree though, extortionate parking charges are partly to blame.
For anyone bombing up and down the M6, there’s a fantastic pie shop just off J27 in a village called Standish just north of Wigan. Called Gents Pie shop, it’s proper OMG material!
Muffin Man up in Shevington is also a belter.
mate i'm in london, impossible to get a decent pie down south
keep the recommendations coming! got loads of family up north and first stop is pie shop when i visit.
I second this, all made and baked on the premises. Meat and potato is outstanding.

Hi Danny, I've been watching street food channels of a few countries during the pandemic. It started as just an unconscious way to wind down after work, but gradually I realize you truly represents the true spirit of your country, for which is the collective hard work of the working class!! So may I suggest you to wear the classic England x Umbro shirt? It's coming home mate, and God bless you Danny!! :)
sense of humour always helps, the Tse one.
Hi Danny! You are amazing person! We are glad to have met you! Good bless you and your children!
Grew up in Bolton and have never been to this place, was always a Carr's person. I didn't have a choice that's what my mam and dad bought. Carr's is good though so I hope you tried it whilst there. Would love to see what a Carr's looks like now haven't had one for over 10 years. I know they've got a new shop. Used to goto the old shop and get a pack of frozen pasties you bake in the oven. Beautiful. The lady who came out and showed him the photos was amazing. Does Bolton proud.
Ah mate.. how have you not been there before, they are mint. Also, yes the new Carr’s pasties shop is quite trendy, i would definitely recommend.
@@VividIsSleeping I've seen the shop it does look modern. I remember the old one and going with my dad getting a bag of frozen meat and potato pasties out of the freezer.
@@Matt19matt19 Haha, I also went to the old shop quite frequently with my dad, great minds think alike i’d say.
@@VividIsSleeping I'm hoping he went elsewhere. Carr's plus Olympus chippy.
A carrs steak bake is as good as ever and second to none 😉 get them occasionally from a buttie shop near me that get carrs pies and pasties delivered
What a lovely lady Mrs Walsh, typical down to earth people us Lancastrian’s even though Bolton is classed as Greater Manchester
This is making me home sick and miss my family (mum Mrs Walsh, brother Christopher Walsh) So much love from all off you makes me so very proud to come from Bolton and be "that young lady's" Daughter. I could kill a pastie and pie right about now. Thanks to Danny and all of the love you have shown to my wonderful Mum Marie.
Wow what a kind lady you mum is ❤ the world needs more people like this. It mwlted my heart when she asked the delivery guy If he wanted any dinner packing up.
I am almost sure that after this filming more pasties were bought ;) It's so lovely to see the patience Danny has with the lady and his fans. Big thumbs up for you Dan!
Fantastic love to hear of places like that hope it's there in another 100 years fair play
The place was actually established in 1667 so it's actually 353 years old! Not just that the pub behind him on the same road was opened in 1251!
This video definitely a SOLID 10!!! Danny and the Lady make a great double act!
I've never seen Danny enjoy a meal so much.
That brought back some memories. It was definitely exactly the same 45 years ago which is when I first went in.
My missis dreams of the day I look at her in the same way Danny looks at a vanilla slice
😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Your misses should walk along then .
PMSL
😂😂
ah thank you, great visit. Pie Barms !!! That brings back so many memories not been there for years, amazing pasties and pies, the best. Must go back, beautiful place.
These uploads are really the highlight of my day at the moment.
Loved this video the lady was absolutely brilliant and warm 👏
That old women is a little diamond bless her.
I love Bolton. Great country side views, great people and good food!
Oh, the loveliness of Bolton. An old school welcome from a mere twenty- one year old. Who’d have guessed it?🙏😂🌞🙏
Thanks for visiting there Danny! THE best pasty shop in the world, and what an owner bless her!
"121 years old and I wasn't here for the opening" this is why English humour is the best!!.
When I was at the old Bolton Tech on Manchester Road, this was my go to place for dinner. The pies and pasties are wonderful, and cheap. Whats not to like??!! Good effort by the old chap at the end who picked up the litter, if only everyone was like him. Well done Sir!!
Old school, God bless her
What a lovely old bird, bless her.
