    Message to them who are unhappy with Indian Railways and Kolkata Metro.
    Present WB government does not have the capability to fund and build metro rail. It asks for Centre's assistance and loans even for small infra projects. Recently, WB gov stated that it cannot even fund the 50% of Sec V-Haldiram extension. When other states are building Purvanchal expressway, Samruddhi mahamarg, massive solar parks etc on their own; WB gov is investing ₹15000 crore on lokhi bhandar and other freebies.
    Indian Railways knows the value of infrastructure. Ofcourse, it has decided to make Kolkata Metro a joint work of both centre and state earlier. But judging from the way WB gov works, it has decided to save and take responsibility of metro rail for our Kolkata on it's own.
    So meanwhile, let's thank Indian Railways to approve ₹6000 crore to buy swanky new rakes for Kolkata Metro and let's hope they are state-of-the-art. ❤️

    Meanwhile metro railway Kolkata(not kmrc) will still uses ugly and outdated ICF rakes or cheap filled with glitch chinese crrc rakes instead of beml, titagarh wagon, Alstrom,etc. Kolkata metro is a complete joke now a days

      This will be the case for as long as Kolkata metro is under Indian Railways. Funds allocation is a problem in Indian Railways, they have priorities unlike other metro systems where it is an independant entity that builds and operates those metros.

      @@santanu29 Line 2 is owned by KMRC and it's 10 times ahead of rest of the line in the city despite seeing it with own eyes Indian railway won't handover ownership , line 2 got inaugurated earlier and still have platform screen doors better station facilities as well as better rolling stocks while line 3 started years later and still lacks everything in comparison to line 2 and same will happen with line 6 too

      @@swastikturan257 Indian Railways hold 74% of KMRC because Gov't of WB transferred their share to Indian Railways. I don't know how much more terrible can this situation become. Also, I don't understand why the ownership is not being transferred. Seems to me like the current gov't of WB is not interested after they transferred their share of KMRC. Maybe a change of gov't can only save Kolkata metro now. If the govt demands the ownership back, I don't see any specific reason as to why Indian Railways will retain Kolkata metro if asked to handover.

      @@santanu29 Indian Railway don't own shares in KMRC it's Ministry of Railways who holds 74% and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs who holds 26% and Ministry of railway and Indian Railway are separate, Ministry of Railway is branch/wing of Indian Government while Indian Railway is a wholly-owned government enterprise/company not a part of government itself and KMRC act as an Independent/ Autonomous entity and it has the authority to take it's own decision without any other department bureaucratic process interference and it only rely on the stakeholders for funding and funding are separately allocated specifically for KMRC every year during parliament budget. Meanwhile Metro Railway, Kolkata which is a part of 17th Zone Indian railway can't take independent decisions like KMRC and has to rely on all level of Indian railway bureaucrats starting from IR CEO to Eastern Railway GM to Metro GM and other officers to get a decision sanctioned and it doesn't have separate budget allocated as it's a part of Indian railway so whatever budget is allocated to Indian railway from it whatever Indian railway board wants to allocate that much money Metro Railway Kolkata can only get

    Corrections: Only a total of 15 trains are meant for the Yellow line and will be driverless. One comes from China directly, the rest 14 will be manufactured & delivered by Titagarh Wagons Ltd.
    TWL will also deliver 20 regular trains for use on the Purple/Green lines of BMRCL. One such train will come directly from China.

      @@sriparnoghosh2424 yes. Recently, TWL had raised the concern of delays in production locally due to delays in providing work visas to Chinese personnel to be deputed by CRRC to TWL's Kolkata facility

      More disappointment- Actual opening will be mostly by Mar-June 2025 or best case end of 2024. First train will be assembled only by Mar-Apr 2024. They need 5-8 trains minimum for trials. But Titagarh will delay, they don't even have proper facilities done to build in Kolkata factory: 1 or 2 delivery per month planned in first 3 months, then gradually increase.

      They have to remove some underground sewage pipe of nearby army base but army isn't giving permission to remove it and now it's all government bureaucracy of all department both ministry of defense and railway

    If it is ready, it should start by March 2024. There is no question of Election code of conduct for this to delay the inauguration.

      This is a new technology for BMRCL. This isn't the same trainsets as the existing ones. These trainsets will have to undergo a lot more tests. Even if the train is physically assembled, it will not be allowed to enter service until all the tests are completed

      The software wont be ready until June and supply of train sets is delayed due to delays in production in India. Also, most stations are not ready yet. It has nothing to do with elections

      Don't expect much from Chinese product, metro authorities brought it cuz it's cheap but forgot how every Chinese product works, those rakes are filled with glitches and can barely handle load, only 1~2 set(s) out of 14 has been delivered rest sets fate is unknown

    Interestingly, the state owned metros are given a share of money from the central government. Where as in kolkata metro, the state contribution is zero. 😂. Yet complains alot. West bengal government can establish a transportation corporation if they want, bt hey😂.... 500rs is more imp than infrastructure. In the south 24 parganas line of behala they carved a route which is shame , an embarrassment. What is the utility of connecting joka behala with proper kolkata? When they have to get down to majherhat to chnge trains? They should have diverted and had an over head metro connecting majherhat to Kalighat to Ballygunge to ruby. The people of behala could have got a connection to north South metro, Ballygunge suburban rail, and a connection to new garia airport line. 😂 Bt still who cares😂

      I wish you would do some research before dashing off a comment. BEML makes rakes and it is an Indian company. Alstom and Bombardier also make rakes in India. Banglore metro has a loan from Asian Bank for this line and is therefore legally obligated to float worldwide tenders. CRRC was the lowest bidder.

    🙏,Please inform Every stations in India should have a screendoor for underground station sections and over Bridge should have 8ft 5 inch steal and sealed doors. It is a must and Compulsory. For the entire Metro Company in all the Metropolitan cities of India and the Entire World.For all the colour lines(Green,Purple, Yellow, Blue,Red,Pink, Black etc.) It should be compulsory for everyone for the Metro Company group in every Metro stations.       CMRL doesn't build. They award tenders to private companies aswell but coaches are built by Alstom and better than namma metro.

    Frankely, Banglore metro doesn't look good. The stations, the pillars all looks like as if it was built a 40 years ago. The pillar design of Hyd metro looks good.

      Because they paint in funny colors. Biscuit color, really ? It's better to just leave in concrete and cement color which is dark and blends in well with infrastructure, surrounding buildings and steel.

    If that is the train you are talking about then it is so average! Design is old & below par. The same silver design throughout with 1 thin strip of yellow.
    The doors could have been made full yellow while keeping the rest part silver. That would have looked cool. Have these designers ever seen the London tube color combination. Really sad tbh to see this design.

    These Chinese systems are generally unreliable and unsafe , I hope they don't cause Bengaluru Metro`s first major accident , I will never step on these Chinese trains. I wonder why "Make in India" didn't play its role here. I am worried for the practical safety for these trains . Even if one metro come from china and the others are manufactured here , its still a chinese technology and system
