      In the grand scheme, everything is interconnected. Whether it's an iphone (minimalist design, 1 button, black or grey or gold) or clothing fashion (color, skinny or large fitment), someone is designing something either for easier use (i.e. medical equipment) or for a statement (i.e. Black Beard), plus others.

    A very good message delivered by a lovely voice, but that outfit, yeesh. More akin to a young Asian woman than an aging British one. You would think a design critic talking about rebel design could come up with something more original than a bob haircut and a stale black outfit with eye-piercing magenta highlights.

      Oh, I'll be sure to take your opinion on fashion in high regard. Who cares what she's wearing or that you don't like it? Find something of substance to talk about.

    • @beliasphyre3497

      Jonathan Couch , though you have expressed it in a sarcastic tone, I do believe you will take my opinion in high regard. Whether that is a strong positive or negative I don't know, but you replying shows you care enough to deny interest. No one asked to reply, you collecte volunteered it.
      Look to the like-count too see how many people care and agree. In her own talk she mentioned how Blackbeard's choice of fashion was designed to intimidate. I was simply observing what I saw in her fashion, which I think is of substance since she discussed fashion in her talk.

    • @yitingchan8037
      @yitingchan8037 6 лет назад

      yes, Chin was the most powerful kingdom in that period of history, far stronger than others.Or how can Ying successfully conquered the others 6 kingdom to form the great Chin dynasty?
      Also,the improvement for the weapons is only part of the reasons that Chin could defeat others.
      1.Poor leadership of leaders from other kingdoms
      2.the reform of social status(soldiers can gain the peerages through killing more emnemies,so Chin people would love to hv wars)
      3.the foreign policy(associate with the distant countries and attack the near ones)
      etc.

    SO, when women do what a man does naturally, it is called designing.

      I did, and I doubt that these guys were proud of themselves for "being designers"...They simply did what needed to be done, as a man does, without further consideration, or asking for some type of praise for doing so.

    • @jamalh1913
      @jamalh1913 8 лет назад +1

      "As a man does" I'll just pretend you didn't use a No True Scotsman fallacy because I want to take you seriously.
      Okay, so by your logic, the men in this weren't proud of the things that they made which improved their lives/livelihoods...
      By your logic, Blackbeard and Yhing Zheng didn't adorn themselves in finery, even though one was a king and the other a pirate (2 of the most attention seeking careers)
      And by your logic, Florence Nightingale wanted special recognition for being a designer...someone who abandoned nobility to care for the sick & poor.
      I want to see the logic in what you type but I'm getting worried that it leaves something to be desired.
      Or you're just a troll with woman issues who needs to criticize them in order to feel less empty inside.
      Or you watched the vid without paying attention

    • @gerff01
      @gerff01 8 лет назад

      Jamal Hassan
      Not exactly, by my logic, creating a tool, or a signature, trademark, are just part of "doing what needs to be done", so that you can do "do what you do" more effectively. They weren't proud because they "threw a symbol on a flag" or came up with something for better recognition, they were proud because they were so successful at what they did, at their trade.
      The woman issues, as you speak of, aren't some kind of underlying emotional or mental trouble, it is because of a clear, and objective, difference between men and women, the way they interact with society, their values, and the way society interacts with them. No matter what people WANT to think, and try to see by manipulating or ignoring facts, THERE ARE DIFFERENCES. Right or wrong doesn't matter, they exist. I was stating simply that these things, are just "part of what you do because it needs done" to men, because it is. It is a simple step in a larger process. What she is presenting, is that this step is greater than what it really is, giving much credit and value, where it is not deserved or expected. She has a point in what she is TRYING to present, but she is doing it completely wrong, and emphasizing things for examples that devalue the greater picture. To a man, these things are no big deal, but, as it seems, this is a step that women want a pat on the back for, and are making a huge deal out of such a small step on a giant ladder. Are there reasons for this? Do many women NEED that recognition to advance in this society, yes, they do. But it would be better to force recognition in an area that "matters" to the people whose attention they seek. It would also help, to leave "emotions" and "emotional connections" (what most of her presentation relies on) out of the picture completely, and rely on more logical information, where the connections she is trying to make aren't completely killed by a logical mind that doesn't make emotional connections to stories or data. That is the BIGGEST difference between men and woman, and the reason for most communications problems. Have you noticed that most of the "successful women" in this country seem rather "heartless"? Have you noticed that many of the complaints, and "messages" of feminists and other "SJWs" are completely mad, devoid of logic or facts, and rely COMPLETELY on emotion, and how easily they are discredited with even the slightest bit of scrutiny? Men require logic, facts, objective data, and generally do not think or evaluate a situation using emotions ("from the heart" as some say), Women put more emphasis on emotion and "how it feels", which has nothing to do with facts and objectiveness. This disconnect between the two creates conflict, and since men generally are "in charge", it makes it hard for the woman to advance (even if she is qualified).
      I do not mean these things from a hateful, spiteful, or disrespectful manner, please take what I have said at face value and do not assign something that doesn't exist, which in turn (and is also part of the problem in this society) completely disregards the message and information. This is also the reason I didn't try to attach an explanation for the comment originally. Personally, I do not understand making choices based off of emotion at all. I have a medical condition called "empathy", and I basically "feel nothing". To try to compensate for this, I have spent much time "studying" emotion, learning, from books, psychology, etc., I have an understanding of emotion from a scholarly perspective, but I don't truly understand it, so my judgement may be a little off. But it IS based on logic, and an unbiased observation, backed up by many scientific studies.
      This also results in me saying things that may come off as offensive to some, when I am simply trying to convey a message, purely.
