Hey, just released the follow up to this video, check it out to see my impressions of the DLC and how the ol' rusty anchor fared... Link: ruclips.net/video/Bm_SJ0Nofz0/видео.html
@@CalabusDabus Those 5 people still could have voted for a bad weapon, not sure why that makes any real difference. Also we're talking about the fuckin' rusty anchor here, I was able to make the most of it, but it's not like they voted for Blasphemous Blade, it's still a very silly weapon that easily could have been bad.
As a person who played maybe 10-15 hours of Elden Ring before uninstalling until I decided I wanted to play again (very recently), going back and remembering that I was weilding the funny anchor, and then seeing this on your OP build built by chat? my heart is warmed knowing that "I unga, therefore I bunga" is still as popular as ever
It's the greatest beauty of this goofy game, literally "one man's trash is another man's treasure". Is the anchor actually stupid OP? No probably not. Does it just magically click and pull off hilarious bullshit with the right infusion and ash of war? Oh absolutely. And you can probably find dozens of weapons just like that in this game.
I usually play strength in souls games. On my second playthrough I went intelligence, only to find out the strongest intelligence weapon is a greatsword, and the best spells also scale with strength and involve creating a giant hammer out of magic then slamming it down on your enemies with all your might (a lot of the weapon attacks morgot uses are spells, he pretends to be a faith build to trick people into thinking he is in the erdtrees favour and styles his spells yellow to reflect that)
I said it elsewhere but it wasn't necessarily cause I thought it would be bad it just didn't seem that interesting, plus I had already done a bleed build before.
They're pretty decent but they literally have zero range, I have whiffed attacks while I was literally touching a boss. Also the fist weapon I saw in the vote was cipher pata, which is also good, but it's 100% holy damage and the last few bosses have 80% holy resistance, so that would have been painful
@@DumpsterManTV On the Euro Truck Simulation you should make challenges too, doing hard parkings with heavy-long cargos and each tries or crashes you also do penalty points then.. another Souls game? HAHA
Ah shit, I double and even triple checked that I got those right, but I think because I changed which challenge I was attempting mid-fight I just missed that one
Btw to make wild strikes really shine, you could have gotten winged sword insignia and Milicent's prosthesis along with Shard of Alexander. Then, for your physic, you would want the thorny cracked tear. The insignia + prosthesis + thorny tear all boost consecutive hits, which wild strikes is.
44:18 i actually figured that out by myself, for the one you drop down on i did a leap of faith towards the open archways and didnt quite make it. but the invisible wall saved me(so it connects the 2 open arches) used a ton of stones to learn where was safe. then i attacked the imp in the third doorway with a throwing knife or smth and had my suspicion confirmed when he ran across the invisible floor to get me
Death’s Poker is the most op weapon imo. That fuckin ash of war is ridiculous shit. Magic tear plus shard of Alexander and that shit is insanity. Do all that while standing in Terra Magica and the damage is actually not even funny
The run wasn't necessarily about being OP, it was about trying something new, I vetoed bleed weapons cause I already did a bleed build (still ended up OP anyways but that's a different story LOL)
20:22 he heals off of the animals (ghosts) in the arena, not off of you. He gains moves from said kills animals hence why he seems to pull them out randomly / why it seems he doesn't heal as much sometimes due to a misconception of positioning.
So I have learned how to get the best openings for Nial is when he does the smaller charge, you can roll behind him and immediately do a rolling attack before rolling back a few times. It takes a bit but I enjoy it a lot
Honestly, getting Bloodflame Incant and running dual Militiaman Saws, or a single Morningstar is super OP. I can confirm it works on 90% of bosses, and the ones it doesn't work on (Because crystal bosses), the morningstar is still OP for that. There's also that giant one in Caelid or wherever.
Coming here from the P-2 Ultrakill run funnily enough, i saw you play through my favorite game, and now you're playing my 3rd favorite game? I thought "Hell yeah this dude's hilarious, AND he plays my favorite games?!?11!" Keep up the good work
I beat the game with the Anchor as my main weapon. I've kinda made it a goal recently to beat Souls games with stupid weapons, starting when I beat the Demons Souls remake with the Pickaxe, so it was right up my alley.
Fist weapons are pretty good, oddly. My Hulk Hogan playthrough was probably one of my smoothest (not counting the glitch at level 1 to get to Lleyndel for the weapon and farming the gladiators for their armor set but not spending their souls)
Most importantly, I wouldn’t really consider them a bleed weapon as much as I’d consider them a heavy attack staple. I wasn’t getting enough hits in to bleed, but when I did hit it was very nice
tip for anyone doing reduvia at the start of their game. Just go hit him and don't stop, he is so easily staggered that you just hit him until you're nearly out of stamina and repeat once or twice
The thing is, and most people will adamantly say that wouldn't be true but it undeniably is, many big bonk strength weapons are just overpowered. The Rusted Anchor is one of them. It deals exclusively pierce damage which most bosses are weak against and which is the sole damage type to also benefit from the counterattack mechanic. Combine that with an already powerful Ash of War, extremely high poise damage and congratulations, you just trivialized 99% of what the game has to offer.
The real truth here that people are dancing around is that unless you specifically handicap yourself this game is just not as hard as many people will make it out to be. Dex builds are OP, strength builds are OP, magic is OP... Nevermind if you summon as well, which is a core mechanic in this game. Like if it sounds like most of what the game has to offer is 'overpowered' somehow, maybe the game is just kinda easy.
btw good sir just pickup the morning star and get the wild strikes ashes of war and put it on to cheese greyoll even at starting level you can use it to bleed and just is better bleed, just a tip for future builds
Yes that is why I switched back to heavy infusion, I knew he had flame resistance but I just went for it anyways, turned out to not be worth it so I went back to heavy.
I do indeed know John Lithgow, but I didn't clock it in the moment, and "Chin Carrey" is a better pun. What would a fitting pun even be for John Lithgow? I'll accept submissions at this point.
@@DumpsterManTV I dunno, Chin Lithgow. Can pretty much throw Chin in front of any name, but like I said, not many people would know the name. Everybody knows Jim Carrey so it’s whatever really. Only thing I could play with in the Lithgow thing is how many people would have gotten the reference. If he had funny lips, John Lipgow Glad you knew who he was though. Heck of an actor. Doesn’t get many mentions anymore.
It's hilarious that you burned a veto on the Star Fist, thinking Fist Weapons are terrible, when the Star Fist is one of the most ludicrously powerful weapons in the entire game.
I’m genuinely thinking about clearing this game for the third time. It’s also my top 3 games of all time. But that’s cause I’m an old head at the age of 30 this year and jack and daxter/ ratchet&clank hold a special place in my heart for top 2. This was also my first souls game after this I played everything
FromSoft's games are genuinely (maybe unintentionally) hilarious, I feel like people do sometimes take them too seriously and can't see the inherent humor in them.
Yeah yeah, I know, plenty of people have told me. With that said, even knowing this I'd veto them a hundred times again, this was the better outcome for this run regardless of the reasoning.
You actually just gave me a great idea I should try another playthrough before the dlc my character is way to over leveled for the dlc so I should start another
I did say "to me", I feel like that acknowledges my armor situation. But yeah, he's a pretty big damage spike, but yes, I have had significantly less trouble being 1-2 shot by him in playthroughs where I was, y'know, wearing armor.
Just to let you know, your level wont matter in the DLC, theyre implementing some kind of new power scaling system so you can essentially start the DLC at any level and have a balanced experience every time.
I've heard that but I didn't take from that that your level won't matter *at all...* Either way, this run was done before that info was revealed anyways, and I'm still gonna be doing the DLC with this character regardless.
The people don't like to hear the truth, but I'm even happier I vetoed the star fist after everyone told me how good it is. This playthrough was way better off without it.
