I use a very tilted grip as well and I was shocked how different the hump felt on the two mice. So far you're the only other person I've seen make this observation
your reviews are so good I just watched all of them lol. you should definitely reach out to some companies for review copies, I'd be really interested in what you have to say about their upcoming products like the lethalgaminggear saturn or possibly fnatic's new mouse. also idk why my comment won't show in the xten video but you mention how zero has a more locked in feel for smaller movements. would you say the zero or xten is easier to microadjust/offer more precision for scenarios such as 1wall6targets small and floating heads 400%? kinda feels like an odd question for me to ask but I think it'd give me a good perspective on the pad from the type of aiming I enjoy. I have a zero soft but like min-maxing my setup so i've been eyeing it haha
i got artisan zero mid and vaxee pa, not sure about others, but artisan zero is perfect for micro adjustment. but you won't get that stopping power that you want for a stable aim. and most of the time, depending on mousepad, zero is too fast or too slow. depending on mousefeet. currently i moved to vaxee pa since few weeks ago.
It would be awesome to get review copies. I love testing out new products and talking about them is very fun so I might try to link up with companies in the future once I build a larger content catalog. The xten feels notably easier to micro-adjust on, especially in those scenarios, compared to the zero. I transitioned straight from maining the zero to the xten and I actually felt pretty squirrely at first because it was so much easier to make the secondary correction motions for click timing that I would overshoot when I corrected a flick. It felt strange to switch to a pad that felt slightly slower for dynamic motions but was also much easier on micro-movements at the same time. I got over this pretty quickly though, and now I feel I can be so precise on small motions, just as much as I would on a speed pad. However, if you like the sticky feeling of typical cloth pads like the gsr, the xten won't give this to you because once you get your mouse moving, it doesn't take much force and will feel quick in comparison. Its control feeling comes from larger dynamic movements. The xten feels like a min-maxers dream because of how it combines the best of multiple pad types. Its only fault is the price. Besides that, it's actually perfect.
@@KraftyCraftKraf lethalgaminggear actually is very kind when it comes to supporting small creators that show interest in doing a thorough review. they sent me 2 pads when I only had a single written review on reddit. you should definitely try to hit them up. i'd dm them through twitter or discord. the saturn is their approach on the zero. same with odin gaming's eclipse pad apparently. also hausgaming usually says the xtrfy m42 and np-01s is interchangeable for him so might be a good mouse to look into if you haven't already! I'm on the fence about the Np-01s. I have the S2-C and used it for a bit but didn't like the back hump. Went back to the FK-2 (og copy). I have used the model d- in the past but didn't like the ergo shape. Np-01s is just sitting in my cart lol
hey! I really like this review. I'm someone that really like the shape of xm1r, the inward side feel, the a little large hump, I use fignertip grip and i can really dig my fingers and get a firm hold on the xm1r. Which one of these two do you think can recreate that feel more? If none of these are even close to that feel, do you have any recommendation that can give me that same firm control on the xm1r? Thank you!
hello! you seem very knowledgable when it comes to peripherals, so i wanted to ask what your top recommendations for fingertip grip is! i use the s2-c atm, but it does feel a bit chunky. i have 20x10 hands roughly. thanks!
I'm in the process of reviewing the fk2-c right now and I think it would be a great option for you. I would describe it as a less chunky s2 in the front and especially the back. It's slightly too long for me to pure fingertip and I have to claw-ftip hybrid grip it, but with 20cm hands, I think you should be able to get a great fingertip grip that is nonrestrictive without feeling small. If you want something that will feel smaller, the viper mini will always be a good option because it's so cheap it's almost always worth giving it a shot. The Orochi v2 is a good wireless option as well, as long as you don't mind how high profile it is or the egg-shaped, convex sides. I don't like how the sides are curved personally, but if you vibe with the shape it's a great mouse. And, if price is no concern, the m2k is still the greatest mouse I have ever used. It's absolutely not worth it, but it feels so perfect for the style of aim you get with fingertip grip.
@@KraftyCraftKraf I’ve tried the viper mini, the shape is great but on every copy I’ve had the clicks suffered heavily. As for the MK I don’t think I’ll ever cough up the money to get one haha. I also have an fk2 so maybe I’ll try that again. I always wanted the GPW or GPX to work but that never worked out unfortunately, maybe I just didn’t give it enough time
They are completely different. The ec3-c has a completely slanted design that is meant to tilt your grip and comfortably fill out your hand but still be stubby enough to allow for maneuverability. The np-01s is flat and is meant to give a thin and low, precision grip feel while still offering hand support with the hump. Both mice are very high quality but their shapes differ widely in design style and hand feel.
The np-01 and s2 feel very different in hand so I don't think its a very good comparison to make. The front ends of the mice are perfectly identical, minus the lack of grooves on the np-01's buttons, but the np-01 flares out so much in the back and the hump is so curvy that it forces itself into filling out your palm, completely changing the hand feel. I can get very similar grips on the np-01s and the s2 which makes them very easy to compare, but the np-01 is a different beast entirely that just has its way with my hand, unlike the s2. I think comparing the np-01 to the burst pro, xm1, or kpa would be much better. The np-01s feels closer to the s2 than the np-01, and the np-01 feels closer to the burst pro than the np-01s.
Yeah I think so. It wont support your hand through the bottom of your fingers because of how flat it is at the top but the hump will make almost complete contact with your palm. The side curves also work very well for a relaxed finger position.
With the s2 I like the palm support but it feels like I am fighting to get my thumb around the side, with the fk2 it feels like I can get my thumb around and higher up the mouse but it’s lacking palm support. Could the np01s be a good choice to fix these issues ?
I love the s2 shape, but really want to go wireless. At the same time a LOT of ppl say try the NP01. I tried the np01s but ti was just too narrow. So my options are pwnage symm gen 2 as a wireless s2 clone or np01 as a new shape thats similar but diff. What would you recommend?
The np-01 is an incredible shape. It's somewhat niche because of how aggressively the curves are some points, but if you like it the shape is unbeatable. Just be aware that it will feel much larger in the back hump than the s2. I have heard good things about the new pwnage versions but I cannot vouch for them personally. Their quality will almost certainly feel worse than zowie and won't be as premium but they seem to be getting better.
Hey, I currently own the Roccat Burst Core and feel like trying a new mouse. I'm a relaxed 19x10 claw grip, and I also own the Razer Viper Mini and its way too small for me. I also had tried the ZA12-B, which I loved but I felt like I just couldn't aim it just as 'good' as the Roccat one, which also showed in kovaaks and consistency. Now I'm inbetween getting the NP-01 (S?) or the S1/S2-C... I'm afraid the S2-C is too small because RVM is definitely too small, and I saw somebody compare it...
Try out the xm1r. The shape is really close to the burst but the sides and hump are shaped a little more aggressively and it feels just slightly smaller. It is much higher quality than the burst line too and feels great in hand. The s2-c should still be a good option as well and it will feel noticeably larger than the viper mini so size shouldn't be an issue. The width and height are similar on the s2 and burst, but the s2's hump feels much thinner and doesn't fill out your hand as much. The np-01 and burst feel similar, but the np-01 hump fills out your hand more and it places your fingers in specific positions on the sides instead of letting you do whatever like with the totally flat sides on the burst. The np-01s will feel bad to you if don't like how thin and low the viper mini is. If the length is your only issue with the viper mini, the np-01s should feel great. Everything you mentioned is a good option, but the xm1r will feel really natural if you enjoy the burst.
i’ve been thinking about making a breakdown of this comparison too. both mice accel at similar things and share design features but they have very different hand feels that heavily differentiates them and makes the head to head pretty interesting. i’ll be re-reviewing the np-01s sometime soon where i will feature at least some discussion of the two shapes against each other, or i’ll put out a full video cause they are pretty fun to make actually.
I know this is not the video to ask this but still... do you think xten control is a good pad for tiger ice skates? I just got them and realized for some reason my gsr-se loses all control with them compared to stock zowie skates
Yes of course. It does feel a little different with tiger ice, its a little more smoothed out and less stopping power, but its still good. I think it is still a good option but it will probably still be faster than your gsr-se.
Look at the equate from xraypad then. It is very slow and has a ton of stopping power, even with tiger ice. Its far slower than what I like to use, but if you only want stopping power, I can vouch that that pad is good. Its pretty cheap, too.

The shape feels really good for my tilted claw grip because it has a nice bulbous back to support my hand and a slanted design to help me tilt my wrist. I really like the cutoff back as well. The issue I have is that it feels quite tall and I like the feeling of control I get from lower button height, so I tend to prefer the EC3-C which is noticeably shorter. Plus I aim differently on slanted ergo shapes because of how comfortably I grip them. I'm more relaxed than I am on or other shapes, but I usually prefer a less relaxed, more aggressive style so I tend to shy away from using them as much as mice like the S2 or np01s. I think the outset is a fantastic mouse, just not quite my go-to over flat-buttoned, rear-humped mice like the S2, np-01s, or xm1r. I have gotten a few different questions about the Outset AX so I'll make a video on it soon. I may get an EC2-C first to see which I like more, then make the video, or just focus on the Outset, but, regardless, I'll make content about it specifically.

The np-01s sounds like it should be a great mouse for you. It's hump is much smaller than the np-01 so it wont have that bulky, burdensome feeling, but it'll still give you some support and stability. The front end will feel similar the the fk style mice you listed out, just with more of a hump in the back, so it should feel like a fairly natural transition.
@@KraftyCraftKraf probably the hump on the back was too wide, thats the main thing. And the sides didnt feel good for some reason, tho i love shape of g102.
The np-01s could be a pretty good option. It has the same aggressive, low button feel as the xm1 but the hump is much thinner, although still prominent, and the sides are curved much differently and are less concave.
Mostly. np-01 feels a little better for static clicking scenarios and the s2-c feels more reliable for large angle tracking in game, but that seems pretty consistent with how I feel. The s2-c is more comfortable though, so sometimes that gives an in game psychological buff.

Check it out if you can :D
The mice I mainly use are FK1, MODEL O, and VIPER MINI.
It is very comfortable to use with the grip I use.
Is the NP01S a good mouse for me?
The np-01s sounds like it should be a great mouse for you. It's hump is much smaller than the np-01 so it wont have that bulky, burdensome feeling, but it'll still give you some support and stability. The front end will feel similar the the fk style mice you listed out, just with more of a hump in the back, so it should feel like a fairly natural transition.
the np-01 sucks for pincer claw. the flare on the left is too much. My hand is 18cmx10.5
ergo mouse sucks in general for Pincer claw grip
Did you find a mouse suitable for pincer claw? I use that grip with Xtrfy M4 it's so comfortable.
@@aeon7748 the Gpx is perfectly fine. I like it
I absolutely hated xmr1, is it worth trying np01 or np01s?
Depends. What did you hate about the xm1?
@@KraftyCraftKraf probably the hump on the back was too wide, thats the main thing. And the sides didnt feel good for some reason, tho i love shape of g102.
The np-01s could be a pretty good option. It has the same aggressive, low button feel as the xm1 but the hump is much thinner, although still prominent, and the sides are curved much differently and are less concave.
HAVE U COMPARED NP01 AND OUTSET?
what is your hand size?
18*9.5 cm
aim lab : s2-c > np-01s
FPS: np-01s > s2-c
I think🤔
Mostly. np-01 feels a little better for static clicking scenarios and the s2-c feels more reliable for large angle tracking in game, but that seems pretty consistent with how I feel. The s2-c is more comfortable though, so sometimes that gives an in game psychological buff.
Got big thumbpads good luck not pushing those side buttons
