well jack and chucks mom manipulated chuck into signing the hotel to jack and when chuck asked what would it cost to get back the hotel jack said he wanted to take something he cherished more which is blair so chuck manipulated blair into going to spend the night with jack by telling her the thing he knew would make her go . chuck wanted the empire hotel because it was the one thing that proved his father wrong about him so he sold or manipulated he to go to jack
