Thx for review. Apple watch has a calibration option you can give a try. You need to reset its current calibration and take a 20mins run or walk with your phone so it learns. It is on the watch under workout settings. Cheers
Where did you get that extra ear piece that was on top of your air pod? Is that an amazon thing or an Apple product or what? Any info would be appreciated. 👍🏼
Donavon Hornbeck Great thanks a lot for the info! They have always fit me well until I started to run, then I knew I’d need some extra support. Thanks again!
You shouldn't have to. The GPS on your watch will kick in and track your movements. Then sync up with the phone when you are back in proximity to your phone
I noticed that when you’ve synced the run to Strava it seems to be recording 0.02 miles less. Is it maybe the Workout app that’s the problem and not the GPS on the watch?
Strava takes the gps pinpoints and does its own calculation for distance. Most watches differ a little to the strava distance. Best to look for the watch that gets the closest results. I use the Pace and have the same issue.
Technically it goes in the opposite direction. You use Strata to track your run, and then it automatically updated the Health (or workout) app as long as you enable that option. This also works with any other app like Runkeeper as well.
twoodcc Nike+ is working superbly on Apple Watch , your average pace will be slower compared when running with a iPhone 📱, but it is ok. Just done 7.5 k run and there was only 80 meters difference between watch and phone.
There is a app that transfers workouts off the apple workout app called Health Fit. The app isn't free but is cheap. The down fall is it doubles your workouts on you Activity circle and you will need to delete one of the.
Thanks for the informative video Donavon. When you tested the Apple Watch Series 3 did you run with your phone or did you use it as a stand-alone activity tracker?
+Blaine D. Tough call. Obviously that is partially dependent on how fast you are running. I run about a 3 hour marathon, so I'm pretty certain it would make it through that amount of time without an issue, but if you are finishing around 5 or 6 hours, then I can't be quite as certain.
The GPS on this thing is horrendous. I ran 7 miiles on two seperate days, the first time it said I'd ran 6.27 miles and the next night it said I'd ran 7.3, on the same 7 mile route! I returned the watch and I'm now back using my Nike + Running watch instead
Unfortunately it was inconsistent for me as well. I am now using an Amazfit Pace 2 and Amazfit Pace, both have been spot on for me in terms of accuracy, and I honestly have a hard time using other watches when I’m testing them because I like the Amazfit Pace 2 so much.
I think with the AirPods it is very dependent on whether they fit your ears or not. Personally I barely notice them in my ears when I’m wearing them. You are right about the sound though. The Soundsports from Bose are definitely better sounding. The edge for special built in tech is definitely with the AirPods though. For phone calls, ease of use, Bluetooth range, etc... the AirPods are definitely better.
I am a runner, it is important to me that the smart watch give me real time feedback about my run. For example, if I am running a 10km, with the Apple Watch give me live feedback about my running pace per km? Heart rate? Distance I have currently ran?
+Michael Martirez yes it can. You can customize what it shows as well. If you want my honest opinion, for a runner I recommend the Amazfit Pace though. Have everything a runner needs and is only 1/4 the price of the Apple Watch.
It was actually only .02, and over the course of a half marathon that ends up being .26 miles off, which can be about 2 full minutes of running. It's not a huge deal, but enough to be annoying.

Great to know! Thanks for that information.
Donavon Hornbeck right on.
Did you try this and did it fix the 1.02 thing? Maybe the watch is defective as many find it accurate
hopefully you hold on to that watchOS for that series 3 cause it won't be easy to get right now in 2022..still hold on with the iOS 12 and watchOS 5.
Say if you're a sprinter and doing reps, can you use an actual button on the watch to stop and start time?
Does the workout app provide an option for audio cues?

This is what I used, but I actually don’t use them any more. The AirPods stay in my ear without them quite well: amzn.to/2jy9ToE

Can you listen to music say via AirPods on the watch without your phone on a run
oscar tovar - Yes you can. I have my running playlist on my Apple Watch and listen to them with my Bluetooth headphones
3:22 quick settings are NOT customizable.
Do you need to take your phone with you on runs if you only have the GPS Apple Watch?
Eli did you figure this out? I had the same question
You shouldn't have to.

Great review! And 5 miles in 30 minutes!? That's a goal I would like to beat! :D
What are those “ear anchors” that you connected to the air pods?!? Someone please respond!
+Francois DuJour Earbuddyz 2.0 on Amazon
Donavon Hornbeck thank you!!!!
Do you need the cellular LTE to use Strava on the watch?
No, it has GPS built in, so no LTE is necessary.
Can you share a workout from the workout app to Strava, Runkeeper, and Nike+?
Technically it goes in the opposite direction. You use Strata to track your run, and then it automatically updated the Health (or workout) app as long as you enable that option. This also works with any other app like Runkeeper as well.
What about Nike+? I know nike is kinda closed-minded with the data

Has there been a fix on the .10 miles the watch is off?
You’ve made an excellent review
I like it
I’m still sporting my series 2, I’m not a runner but it’s great to hear someone else’s perspective
Glad to help!
Donavon Hornbeck thanks brotha
Can you use “map my run” on it?
Yes you can.
Donavon Hornbeck Also, can I leave my phone at home and jog with my watch on and have my “jog time” saved to synchronize with my phone upon returning?
Thanks for the informative video Donavon.
When you tested the Apple Watch Series 3 did you run with your phone or did you use it as a stand-alone activity tracker?
I used it as a stand alone without my phone. If you take your phone with you it will be spot on.
Hi silly question but with the series 3 non cellular, if you go for a run without the phone will it still track your routes etc
yes GPS works with or without a phone on the GPS only version of the Apple Watch 3.
Donavon Hornbeck is this also with the Nike running club app? ;apologies if stupid question?)
Apple Watch series 3 update date
Does the Apple watch work on Android?
+EccoBabeTV nope, Android Wear watches will work with iPhones, but not vice versa.
Bible App.... Peace and Blessing my Bro
Battery wise, could you get through a marathon with it?

Donavon Hornbeck Thanks man! Great review!
FYI..Apple watch Series 2 lasted me through 5hours marathon earlier this month.
Really? That's awesome! That makes it very intriguing..... now if they would allow podcast to play on them!

Bose Soundsports sounds 10x better and are way more comfortable than AirPods imho

Apple Watch does show you those things.
You complaining about the .2 off cmon now it’s technology not perfect

Sounds like you're not a runner.
