V. best,

By far the most underrated channel in all of youtube. A producer has okay’d a query and I’m going to use this
Thank you Christian - we're under the radar for now....but please do share my stuff with likeminded writers and filmmakers.
THANK YOU!
Your channel is going to blow up for the simple reason that nobody else is providing this type of Content.
And thank you for the advice, this is very useful!
Thanks for your support - Please share with any writer mates and spread the Scriptfella word...
We do, in a slightly longer format! But yeah, this channel is great.
For the last six months... I've been refreshing my browser every 90 seconds waiting for a new Scriptfella upload. After having viewed this video I'm glad to report that effort was not in vain.
That dislike came from a producer who fears he will receive too many irresistible query letters.
I am writing my first screenplay and I have found this channel to have the highest quality of information on screencraft. I'm on page 10 today!
Thank you and happy hunting!
Spot on.
Another great one. Thanks Dominic and Chuck.
"Scriptfella, out." So good. Thanks for sharing such insightful content!
THANK YOU to Chuck Hustmyre for providing the LINDA TAKES COFFEE WITH CREAM template. Working on that new Query now. One of the very best explanations of how to do a standard, short screenwriting query. And once again, THANK YOU, Scriptfella. Another great video.
Screenwriting from an experienced ATF special agent, military service, and author of many books, this is practical knowledge for writers to learn.
Great lighting! Excited for the next video.
Thanks Blake slowly getting there in that department
Loving the renewed regularity of these videos! An important topic which was in need of a good video about it, thanks for providing us with this!
Cheers Oscar, it good to be back in the RUclips game. Had a mad six months...
Great advice...get straight to the point and drive it in
Ive been watching your videos all day. As someone who started out learning novel craft who’s interests expanded into also making screenplay/pilot versions of my stories (someone who consumes a lot of writing and business of writing videos for the last year) I can confidently say no ones done it like you have so far (the breadth of privileged intel). It’s been weeks maybe months since I had frequent aha moments yet today alone I’ve had like five. I just can’t thank you enough for showing a window into the black box that is the business. I hope to soon inquire via the website or whatever the proper channels are to get your help on the script I want to try breaking in with. Thanks again, thank you thank you thank you.
@arzabael I'm glad you're enjoying your Scriptfella bingefest - I have more than a sneaking suspicion that you will enjoy the FREE taster classes on offer here courses.scriptfella.com/courses/the-scriptfella-program NB I'm leading a Pro Program cohort into battle very soon...
@@Scriptfella yea I will be barking up your tree with some ideas soon I just for my own healths sake need to finish a novel I set out with before I draft a script and open up to more characters. And thats only because the novel is like eight movies. I know if I start the screenplays I’m waiting to write I won’t finish this and it’s been too long coming and blah blah blah but thank you again good man. I only say all this so you know I’m serious, I’m sure you get a lot of wishy washers.
I just used this to write a kick-ass query letter.
Happy hunting, Parker.
This is gold, thank you!
Thanks for sharing these tips. I really appreciate the insight.
It sounds like this method would work pretty well if you’re already repped or you’ve got some substantial credits. I’d be interested in hearing about starting from scratch and getting repped. I’ve got a finished feature screenplay, and official selection to a festival for that screenplay and not much else (other than my vlog), so what next? You know what I mean? Haha.
Just found this fella, immediately subscribed and will be watching closely...
Cheers Terry welcome to SCRIPTFELLA.
@@Scriptfella, good to meet you Dominic, without coming over as a stalker, I'll be emailing you shortly for help with a sitcom pilot I'm working on.
disturbing the peace ! 🤣 Happy Easter 💜✝️🕊
This is brilliant! I can't wait to start using Linda Takes Coffee With Cream. Sounds absurd upon first reading but it's perfect. Thank you Scriptfella! :)
Hello Julia, very pleased you enjoyed the new vid.
Just found this great channel - thank you! Should you capitalise the name of your script each time you use it in the query letter?
Hi Libby - totally up to you in the caps.
Hey Dom, I was literally sitting here wondering how the hell to increase the response ratio on my next round of queries. Good looking out, sir.
Just found this channel. You just found yourself a new subscriber.
Welcome to Scriptfella Ron, and thanks for the sub.
This is/was really nice and informative. Thank you.
@Scriptfella - As usual, great video! I’ve been waiting for your return. I have an idea for a video... Would you ever consider doing a “deep dive” on a professional script like Pulp Fiction or Goodfellas?
Great practical advice once again, thank you!
Awesome channel. Super good plain info. I find this work very helpful. I cant believe I didn't sub years ago! Thank U!
Good to have you onboard RM.
@@Scriptfella mate I love your stuff. And Ive seen just about everything script related. Theres always something new to leaen and you've taught me alot!
How would i send you a private message?
@@RM-306 linked in, boss
...I have never heard of a _single_ person getting read via a query letter. And I worked at a lit management firm with a website that claimed the managers were willing to read unsolicited material.
Hi Tawdry - I can well believe you - however Chuck set up two movies on queries, both got made
I’ve also got many reads on queries over the years - several of which led to option deals - but I was repped, so that’s a lot easier.
@@Scriptfella to be clear, I am in _no way_ attempting to position myself as the authority on this topic. You are way higher up the food chain than am I: as is your guest. I just wanted to add the perspective of my professional experience, both as a writer and as a Hollywood assistant.
Sorry if I came off as dismissive or overly negative. That was not my intent.
@@Scriptfella also, very excited to see a new video! It has been a minute.
@@tawdryhepburn4686 you didn’t come across as dismissive - you spoke from your own personal experience. Chuck told me he has a hitrate of one read per 200 queries. And he’s very persuasive....
Good advice

Thank you for all the videos! They are insightful and helpful to so many of us. I have yet to put any of my scripts out there but with your tips and guidance, I hope to be able to get script feedback from you soon! My biggest question is what if I'm not sure how to answer the "why me?" question. There are probably lots of writers who can write the same stories in a successful, albeit different way. I don't have more experience, more knowledge or the same personal history as the characters. I just love the characters and their stories and want to tell them. Is that enough?
Hi Rachel, if the script is exceptional, then that should be enough. But per my 7 Strategies vidI suggest you also think of the bigger career plan and try and figure out what you're good at and what you want to known for. D
@@Scriptfella Thank you for your response. I'll check it out.
If you want a new dedicated subscriber, just say so. Epic channel.
Another great video with lots of actionable advice! I used a slight variation of this and got a request for a read, cheers to Chuck and Scriptfella for sharing. As an unrepresented writer, any thoughts on including something about seeking management/representation or advice? Or does a query to send a script imply this? Thanks
Hi Jason - I wouldn’t. They know everyone wants to get repped. And based on chuck’s advice, I wouldn’t put the word representation in the title of your email - use the title of your movie.
Do you have any opinion on using Gmail and using their standard font, Sans Serif? Also, does it make a difference if you use their "normal" font size, which is around 10 point or their "large" font size, which is about 13.5 point? Thank you
Cool!
I always hear that you should include something about why your sending the query to the discussion person you're sending it to... Shows due diligence. Is this not a good idea?
Great information. But what to put in the subject heading?
Hi Steven - just the name of the project nothing else
@@Scriptfella Thanks.
@@Scriptfella Is is best to use all caps for the title? Thanks again
@@stevenokrent4223 Depends on your personal preference. I would use caps.
@@Scriptfella Caps it is. Thanks
What goes in the subject line of the email guys? Thanks!
The name of your script.
@@Scriptfella Figured! Thank you! MM
Thanks for this. Subscribing.
Cheers Brian, welcome to Scriptfella.
I’d need help with a fair bit, Queries, Logline and how to help make the scripts better reads.
One is two friends who have a fallout due to a deceitful person coming between them (show)
Another is young witches going up against an immortal sorceress and her loyal followers who want to rid the male population.
The third is an angry young man who takes his anger out on gun wielding killers in an engagement party
No screenwriting credits so I got next to nothing to work with
What about the subject line though? Did I miss this?
The name of your project - defo not “representation”.
@@Scriptfella Thank you 🤜🏻🤛🏻 Have a nice day.
Now what about that subject line??😅
Name of your screenplay
Probably because the ATF sounds like a bunch of party poppers who don't want you drinking or smoking or playing with guns.
A show about an agency who are pro-alcohol, pro-tobacco and pro-firearms might be a better sell.
This guy has a Trump sticker in the background.
