The percentage is what gets me. Whch factors influence the chance of it being a certain color? Since genetics are clearly not the only component at play, what are we missing?
I agree, the percentages are there to explain the process, not the accurate outcome. Like just because brown eyes do happen to be more dominate, the genome can still decide when developing whether a certain amount of melanin will be in the eye causing the brown or blue. Some people even get eye colors none of their parents have, like brown and brown getting hazel or blue and blue getting green. It just depends on the amount of melanin the body decides to produce based on that genetic mixup.

My dad and his parents have brown eyes. Me and my two siblings have blue eyes. My wife, her two siblings and her parents have brown eyes. Both my children have blue eyes. I have been under the impression blue eyes are less dominate than brown eyes, is it just random chance we all (including my 4 maternal cousins) all have blue eyes despite all marrying brown eyed spouses, seems improbable but obviously mathematically possible if rare?
If you ask for your parent, they could check with their family. Say one grandparent had green eyes, but the other one had blue eyes. Your parent would have Gb as you said, hence blue being recessive

Your child will most likely have brown eyes and you will have a chance of having blue eyed grandchildren if they marry someone carrying the blue gene. ie if they marry someone with brown eyes, the blue eyes could be lost in the family, but if they marry someone with blue eyes then your grandchildren will most likely have blue eyes as well.

What about green eyes are Bb or bb
Green eyes are dominant feature so it would be Bb or BB depends on what you parents have

Actually, checked and they keep discovering more alleles, they taught three in grad school two decades ago.

My kid has blue eyes and i have Brown and my husband green
my mothers eyes are brown but her parents are one green and one brown. my dad has blue eyes so why did all 4 kids turn out dark brown eyes.

Honestly, you really can't know. Eye colour is slightly more random than it seems.
