Danger man you're hilarious😂 Star Trek been dead since 2009 but I watched Prodigy besides the kiddy main characters it was more Trek like than any of this Nu-Trek garbage( that's probably why they canceled it but it was brought back) it's like a sequel to Voyager
So glad we were able to able to encourage you to give Prodigy another chance! I was also rolling my eyes when I first saw the characters at first. But, after the first couple of episodes, I never looked back. It truly has the spirit of Star Trek. Something the other shows simply do not have. To those fans of Picard S3 and Lower Decks -- I'm sorry -- it is not enough to simply have memberberries. Star Trek needs good decent writing first and foremost. Look forward to your reviews, UK Dangerman!!
4:02 damn that laugh is contagious xDD I really look forward to those classic trek and prodigy reviews! And nicely put! It did felt like an epilogue for voyager. Specifically i felt the janeway hologram wasn't just a cheap easteregg like most nutrek, she was janeway! My only complaint from s1 is that they made the villain too obvious and pog screams too much, but considering it's for nickelodeon i guess it's fine.
I was skeptical of Prodigy at first. But then I realized that it gradually became a Trojan Horse Voyager sequel and I began to enjoy it - especially series 2. Ironically it's only the scenes with most of the new characters which I find inherently annoying, which I didn't enjoy so much. I have to say though, I love what they did with Wesley Crusher. If you told me a few years ago that a Star Trek show would come out that made Wesley Crusher cool, I would have laughed in your face.
I dismissed Prodigy as a kids show. Disco and Strange World both were already very Young Adult so I assumed Prodigy would be even more juvenile. How strange that Picard S3 and Prodigy are the closest to Star Trek of all the projects that Alex Kurtzman is "attached" to. 🖖
Ah OK. Might give it another go. I did exactly what you did. Gave it 3 episodes and just turned it off and never went back. Thanks for the reconsideration
I've never watched Prodigy as I'm not gonna pay for Paramount+ or whatever the hell it's called now, but I've heard it's one of the better instalments these days. I might also get some hate for this, but I actually quite like Lower Decks. It's ridiculous and it does have it's cringe moments sometimes (Although not even nodding terms with the live action shows when it comes to sheer cringe), but there are some genuinely good Trek episodes in there.
Awesomeness. Glad we gave you enough grief to give Prodigy a second chance ^_^ Knew you'd enjoy it after getting past the hurdle of the early episodes. Just like S1 I think S2 doesn't hit it's stride til episodes 6-8 and then it's the best Trek of the current Nu era. It makes sense then that Prodigy was the first cancelled and disowned show from nuTrek because it shows how deeply Kurtzman and co. just do. not. get. Star Trek. They greenlight absolute garbage like Section 31 and (likely) Academy but cancel and delete real Star Trek like Prodigy from their servers. Good thing Netflix picked it up. If Skydance or whoever buys Paramount keeps Kurtzman's unholy contract alive and Netflix orders a 3rd season of Prodigy it'll be the only good thing about Secret Hideout not getting fired like they deserve. (granted I'd happily sacrifice Prodigy if it meant no more Secret Hideout and a crew like the one running the Orville taking over). Anywho, UKDM if you've read this far apologies for not being around of late for the streams, got a lot of hectic stuff going on and whatnot lately. Fear not I'll darken your doorstep again soon enough haha.
If there was a choice between watching nothing and watching the best episode of Prodigy, I’d watch nothing. The DESPERATION by some people to like nu-Trek is tragic. The excuses, the effort - just let it go. Don’t drop your standards, require Kurtzman to raise his.
Desperation? Haven't seen much of my channel have you? Kurtzman isn't attached to prodigy, his name is there but beyond that he wants nothing to do with it. I would always give something a try. If then you still consider it trash trek then fine. But no one here is "desperate" to like it. I just give things a fair chance. 👍
My biggest hesitation, beyond it being lumped in with nu trek is that it's annimated. annimated trek just hasn't interested me. I might give it a shot though.
You guys need to learn that animation for kids has evolved since the 80’s. Some of the stuff coming out now is more emotionally mature and well thought out than most adult shows today.
@@jimlight5137 How have I showed disrespect for annimation? A show like Archer, for example, is among my favorite comedies and that's annimated. I just don't like mixing annimation and live action in the same franchise.
As much as I like Prodigy, it still has the Kurtzman taint going on. You'll see the smatterings of the horrible story decisions they made with the other series having to be reflected in this. I wish they had shown as much passion as Nickelodeon did with this. They really did their research into what made trek trek. It's disappointing. As Jim Bowen from Bullseye used to say "Here's what you could have won!"

Ill give it a go. Can't hurt me more than Raffi already has.
Ain't that the damn truth..... "STUPID JL" grief....... RAFFI SUCKED.
Like that you show Tilly as "New Trek." Hilariously appropos!

Sold! I'm gonna check it out
Yes, I was shocked that it was so good as well. I was really expecting to hate it, but it just refused to allow me to with that great writing.
I stopped after the first couple of episodes in season 1, thinking it was Star Wars or a kid show.
I can honestly say, I think it gets better. 👍
@@UkdangermanReviews
I did hear S2 was better. But I can't subscribe to Netflix after Cuties. Those people should be in jail.
I gave up after season one, but I think it was general fatigue from Discovery & Picard. I'll get back to it someday.
Looking forward to your reviews.
Thanks Clayton. Good to hear from you 😁👍
Will give it a go. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
Will trust your opinion and give it a shot👍👍👍
They are very Ernest and good and family and very engaging
Prodigy is the exception
It's brilliant 👏
Spot on review, thank you for your videos
Thank you, that means a lot 😊
It’s a shining beacon in the middle of new trek crap. I will watch this and enjoy new episodes of Star Trek. ♥️♥️
I also stopped watch Protegy half way between episode 2, that's was till Xell recommended it on TenForward, I believe it was Xell

But one with a good sense of humour and a big heart 👍👌😁
well to atone, you'd totally repent and review Rings of Power as penance to obtain absolution 😀
🤣🤣🤣 Why do you clearly hate me? 🤣🤣🤣
@@UkdangermanReviews never!!! I'm your #1 fan, glad you loved Prodigy, yes is a small ray of sun in the darkness raw sewage of nutrek
Campaign for a season 3. i only have 2 eps left.
It is Nu Trek, but (rather importantly) it is NOT Kurtzman Trek. It is Kurtzman in name only, and the Hageman brothers are clearly Trek fans!
Its a kids show but treated the audience like adults.. whereas deiscovery, Picard etc is a adult show treated the audience as children

STP 10000 TIMES better than std.
A frontal labotomy with a serving spoon and no butter would be better that STD 👍🤣 been a while mate. Good to hear from you 👍
@@UkdangermanReviews we have been watching 2 episodes every few days. It is engaging and uplifting and funny and earnest. No woke bs and no cringe.
Get a new mic, or pin the one you've got to your hoodie, because the sound is crap.
Keep up the good work with the review vids.
Well I agree. It's not studio sound but it's the best that I can manage for the time being.
