Rootbeer is here for a visit ...

Rootbeer is staying with us while his people attend a graduation.
If you're wondering ... yes, he is on a retractable leash, if you're wondering why, it is because my 3 requirements for the use of a retractable leash are met:
The dog has a solid recall.
The dog has a learned "heel".
We're on private property.
Rootbeer has the training in place and comes flying when called, will heel if asked, so it's nice to be able to give him a bit of personal space when he stays with me to muck about and enjoy the farm on our walkabouts.
While I don't use retractable leashes in public, or for training, they do have their place in my opinion.
