    Thanks for the review, Techne!
    Also yeah if you are ok with ZA12 then it is just a size thing. Xtrfy did a great job on the wireless. Can't say I had much to do with it other than designing the original shape and asking for a back as low as possible to be included. So huge credit to them for putting out such an awesome mouse!

      When I first held this mouse, I thought it was too small and awkward. I would consider myself a mid tier FPS gamer. However, after downloading Kovaak aim trainer and using it for a few days. Man, my aim has never been better. This mouse teaches you how to use fingertip grip. It is amazing. Never had such a quality mouse. You just have to spend real time learning to use it.
      This mouse is like fine wine, it gets better and better with time. Can’t overstate how nice this mouse is.
      This mouse will literally make you aim better. It did for me.

    First of all apologies for putting my message here but it's the latest video and I thought I might have more of a chance of getting a reply here. Secondly, this is to do with gaming headsets, but sidetone in particular. Now I know a lot of reviewers are sponsored by the headphone brands so none of them talk about sidetone, in great detail anyway. I get the feeling it's because every reviewer knows it doesn't work. This has been my problem, purchasing the Corsair HS80 after The Techne's great review but then finding out that sidetone doesn't work. Then I send those back and buy a pair of Razer Blackshark V2 Pro's and guess what - exact same problem. Then I start typing in the sidetone issue into Google for other headsets before making further purchases and guess what, yup doesn't work for any set of gaming headphones, well wireless anyway. I mean it works but it's just too quiet, and as soon as you have other audio ie a game, then you don't hear yourself at all.
    I think having the ability to monitor yourself is damn important and I feel like it's one of the most important things to have. Why else do radio DJs have it? Why do podcasters have it? Why does anybody who records or broadcasts/streams their voice have it?? Reviewers are sponsored therefore don't talk about major flaws - I feel. Surely having sidetone is one of the most important features, but it just doesn't work and I think someone needs to talk about the subject because headphone brands are getting away with it and reviewers are in a way, misleading buyers by not talking about the fact that sidetone is not fit for purpose.
    So please The Techne, can you address the subject?

    • @TheTechne
      @TheTechne  2 года назад

      Hey man, sorry I missed your comment before.
      Now as for sidetone, or any feature for that matter, the importance will differ from person to person. Like myself I love s BT, too many they could care less, and often say why pay extra for it.
      Same with a mic on a headset, I never use them, I test them but again never use them, I use free standing mics.
      So I wouldn't say people are sponsored due to not testing or going into detail abort a feature/function, but maybe just lack of interest for that person.
      Now more on sidetone, a great feature yes, mildly tested on my part, but yes tested. The thing with many headsets, is they have to be adjusted in the software, and some don't save if the software isn't opened or active, 2nd if on console you also need to adjust it in the console settings as well as the headset.
      I will make it a point to look into side tone a bit more in my coverage from here on out though.
      Thanks again for your support and great comment.

      @@TheTechne Thanks for your reply, really appreciate it! And you're the only one who might be able to shed some light on this issue, and it is an issue in a few forums due to it not working correctly.
      So in my testing on my PC, I did everything as per instructions including to leave the software open while trying to adjust. Sidetone does work, however it's extremely quiet, then when you open a game you don't hear yourself trying to talk to your friends at all and can end up talking with a raised voice which I don't want. I searched Google and found the Corsair forum for the HS80's and boy oh boy are there people with the same issue. And the issue seems to go back to 2020 with very little input from Corsair. The same goes for the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro's - in fact the issue is exactly the same almost as if they're all the same manufacturers, just putting their products out with different skins. Then as previously mentioned, looking up the Arctis 7 has people complaining about the same thing although I cannot really comment on this as I didn't risk buying a pair.
      The issue I have is that these companies are seemingly putting out headphones with features that really don't work as you'd expect them to. I consider myself pretty technologically minded so I tried everything, I even tried to route the mic through Voicemeeter as a workaround but the delay was off-putting. Now I think this delay is why most people don't want the feedback, if sidetone actually worked properly then there is no delay which means it is not off-putting.
      In the end I returned both pairs of headphones even though I loved the comfort of the Blackshark V2 Pro's and bought the cheap Blackshark V2X. I tell you what, the audio quality of the V2X is the same as the Pro's and the mic quality is great too, slightly brighter with less bass than the Pro's but this is easily configured with a touch of EQ in Voicemeeter to sound the same. I now have mic monitoring via my Yamaha AG03 audio interface as the Blackshark V2X is Analogue only. It seems that I'm unable to find a pair of wireless headphones that offer really good mic monitoring! And I mean really good, hearing my voice over my game audio.
      Moral of the story is that I originally wanted a pair of good, comfortable wireless headphones that offered comfort and mic monitoring so that I didn't have to use my main mic for gaming as it's nice not to have it in front of me for a change, but along the way have discovered a feature that all of these companies seem to offer that actually doesn't work well enough to use and it's not just me.
      Thanks again for your previous reply and great quality videos, I really hope you can look into this!

      @@jonlawrance8383 now also make sure you are looking at in game settings.
      On pc in game setting sometime solver take pc settings, and also flipped around.
      So for me just double check your in game settings and pc settings, while in a game, not before loading up.
      Same thing happens with graphics as well, common with HDR settings a lot.

      @@TheTechne yes checked absolutely everything, in-game, pc sound settings but nothing could resolve the issue. I can't drop links here but if you 'Googled Corsair sidetone too low' or something like that then you'll get a Corsair forum for the Virtuoso headphones, and since they use the same software (iCue) that forum will show you all the same sort of messages.
      Interesting thing, Corsair did respond to complaints that the mic level was too quiet by adding a mic boost to the settings panel of version 4 of the software so in my opinion, this is all the have to do for sidetone too!

    • @techroom6830
      @techroom6830 2 года назад

      sidetone is a nice feature but the average gamer those headsets are targeted for really don't NEED that feature, dj's and podcasters are in a different demograph altogether because its their job and audio is everything

    MZ1 Wireless owner since 5 days here (hands 18 x 10 cm, relaxed fingertip with a tiny bit of my palm touching the right side of the mouse), this mouse is insane i just cant go back to my one and half years old GPX Superlight, it's just the perfect mouse for me. I just dont like the new back shell with my grip style but for someone who wants to have all his fingers sticking to the mouse I think the new back shell is a better choice and for those who prefer claw grip or relaxed fingertip like me the OG shell is god tier, recoil control in apex feels so natural, i instantly felt an improvement with the flatline and a 3x.

    RJN uses a 1-2-2 Claw-Palm grip, and that's what the low form is designed for, not fingertip. Seeing as you like the Deathadder V3 you probably have a bigger profile hand, combined with the fingertip grip, it makes sense this didn't work out for you.

    The wired version is one of the best mice I've ever used and I'm a claw gripper. The hump fits perfectly in my palm and definitely doesn't feel wrong. Love the scalloped mouse 1 & 2 too and I have medium hands. I ended changing to a Superlight though, as I just couldn't work as well as game with this mouse. • @rockinrobot628

    the hump is all the way in the back making it a claw grip mouse. That is why you're having trouble fingertipping it with the stock backplate.

    I use the MZ1 wireless and am super happy with it...the viper was my first "flat" mouse and love it but it's just a little too long. I moved to the model o- and mained that for a long time. When I got the original MZ1 I complained that the hump on the back was a little too much for me so I gave it to a friend in need...now that I have the MZ1 with a flat hump and no cord I couldn't be happier. it's my "end game" mouse... until something else can beat it.
    My hand size is 18cmX10cm...plus my hand is a little f'd up from a football injury and subpar hospital care in middle school.

    The wireless tech is really good in this mouse. I had two versions of the finalmouse starlight and I could never feel comfortable and consistent with them. Something about the wireless didn't ever feel right for me.
    I watched one of RJN'S video and found out I have an almost identical grip style to him. My hand size is 20cm x 11cm and all my fingers line up pretty much perfectly on the spots that don't have holes. The only difference is I have my pinky on the right side curled a little more inwards than the spot with no holes. I use it with my fingers just barely curled and hovering ontop of the main mouse buttons and the back portion of the hump touching the very top portion of my palm. Like right underneath my middle finger and my ring finger. I also have my hand slightly at an angle like a few degrees to the right.
    If the wireless tech stays perfect then I don't see myself getting a different mouse until I want 4K polling with a higher refresh rate monitor. The clicks feel super good. Probably the best click feel ive ever felt. (although on the lowest debounce setting the mouse will double click with more force in your clicks. It does not come factory with that setting though, but it's cool it's an option. You can change the debounce to 4ms which is the blue setting and it feels perfect.

    • @WorldKeepsSpinnin
      @WorldKeepsSpinnin 2 года назад

      Just be careful, if you use the weight balancing thing if you put the screws up a little to much the wireless starts bugging out (it’s a weird jittering pretty much making the mouse unusable) but if you put screws back to middle it fixes atleast for me it did.
      Personally idk I just don’t like this mouse. Don’t know why, I just aim horribly with it for seemingly no reason. My grip feels decent on it. Only reason I can come up with other then shape is either sensor position or the mice feet being bad. If it’s none of those though then it’s just the mouse isn’t for me ig.

    How was that a review?
    What about packaging (much plastic or just a few pieces, savely stored, was the cable bended in a weird angle so it wouldnt unbend, ....)? Which sensor did they use and which switches did they use for this mouse? What about the cable that was included? What about the RGB? What about the battery life with RGB and without RGB? What about the general build quality? What about the scroll wheel? What about the feet and their behaviour on a mousepad?
    I know most of these things can be looked up on the product site, but I rely on independent reviewers like you to confirm these statements are actually true.
