I've carried a Para 2 every day for almost 12 years. They were S30V back then. It's been a fantastic knife. The only thing is that I would catch the pocket clip all the time. Eventually I got tired of bending it back and swapped it for a Ti one.
I used to love my Benchmade 940, but the blade geometry is such it is not slicey. The PM2 is a lot better, remembering the tip is quite thin. But is slices apples, cuts rope, opens packages just fine. Interesting you mention the shaman, another good knife, but is thick and heavy, not a slicer, just try cutting a pan apple with it, I don’t carry it much. However, if you ever get a Spyderco Spydiechef you’ll love it. I had to modify the blade tip to make it pointier, ( RUclips video suggestion) but it elevates it to perfection. If made in magnacut it would be my grail knife. I must say though, the Spyderco police in K390 has become my most carried knife.
Great choice. Had mine a little over a year now & I love it. Love the manix 2 LW as well. I couldn’t choose a favorite but if you’re looking for a bigger size than the 940, the manix 2 LW is a great option as well as the pm2
Yes, my wife also got me a Benchmade 940 close to 20 year’s ago. Still in great original condition (My Treasure) probably because I much preferred the 943’s poky blade shape and color combo...Shhh, don’t tell my wife...lol
Love the pm2 I usually carry a manix 2 lw or sage 5 cf for the pocket weight I have lightning ano pocket clip blue ti hardware and blue ti backspacer on my pm2 it’s my only semi customized knife
Probably just my oversized hands but I have struggled with the ergonomics of the PM2 for years. I picked up the Cru/Carta version just over a year ago and reshaped the handle to make my “Pinky” work without constantly riding on the hump and for some reason I still just don’t jell with it. For 2024...it’s way down my list of preferred carry options.
But I consider that size of knife a Working Tool rather than what I would consider EDC like the Benchmade 940’s...My fav’s with Spyderco have long been the Mantra 2 (Smaller footprint, thinner ground with more usable edge length) for EDC. As for a outdoor or work knife I tend to still gravitate to the Endura’s. I need to try the Stretch XL next...
I got the delica, an Emerson wave endura and a para 2. I did a lot of RUclips watching and many people said the manix 2 was better so i got it.... The para 2 is better!!!!
I broke the tip on my pm2 within a week of buying it doing some very light prying on some wood. That’s why I went back to my 940. Thing just takes a beating & never fails. I have knives far more expensive than my 940. But the 940 will remain in my pocket. It dissapears in the pocket but when you pull it out you know you have a beast once that blades open.

Just got the newer military 2. Has a 4inch s110v blade. Loving it so far. Very light for the size

I bought a spyderco resilience a couple months back, been carrying it more than anything else I own.
Good Pick
Got one in S45vn with digi camo G10. Haven't changed a thing. Too wide in the pocket for me but, a great knife.
Well done review. I like your style!👍
@@woodentulike2no thanks!

How’s are you making out with the PM2 (6-months later)?
@@Lunarpreparedness got rid of it went back to my shaman The blade is just too dinky for my needs. Lol
Looks like a nice knife 🗡️🔪
Thank!
Good choice…
Thanks
The paramilitary 2 just doesn't make sense. The tip is too fragile for the knife to be considered for hard use and how much it costs.
