The Dallas Cowboys At The San Francisco 49ers Played On November 10th, 1996 Was Actually The Last Greatest Match Up Ever played Between Both These Two Teams During The 90’s Decade And Was Also George Seifert’s Last Game As The Head Coach During This Regular Season Matchup And Also What a Winning Moment For Barry Switzer Head Coach As Well Included !!!!!!! 😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉
thats incorrect last great game between these 2 teams in the 90s was the following year in 97 were the game was close but won by the niners with no jerry rice since he missed that whole season due to injury and also that game was the last steve young vs troy aikman match up
@@jaylucien669 Yeah and it was a big news story around the city for that whole week. Eventually Grbac and Brown did a terrible skit where they dressed up as prospectors and he apologized. Not making this up.
I used to have this game on video tape after my grandpa had recorded it for me unexpectedly on a blank tape after I had forgotten about what time it was while heading the Out the door of their Salinas, Ca Home to drive with them to the Asilomar for the day On The Monterey Peninsula And was Later joyful When Returning Back To Their Home discover the Cowboys Having won the game in OverTime 20 - 17 Over The 49ers ! 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
This actually was The 2nd Defining Moment for Head Coach Barry Switzer during that year of The 1996 🏈NFL Season alone that is and where precisely having Won Both Super Bowl XXX🏆 over the Pittsburgh Steelers 27➖17 and where eventually having won over The San Francisco 49ers 20➖17 in that OverTime Victory and so in my own opinion alone Barry Switzer Had Come Out Successful during just that one Particular year alone !!!! 😉😉😉😉😉🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈
The Cowboys had a defence in 96. And the Cowboys receivers had learned to protect the ball when tackled instead of letting the 49ers just bang it out of their hands like in 94 and 95.
“Steve Young is questionable for next week against Baltimore abs he said something about having the fullest confidence in the USFL and his future with the Tampa Bay Bandits?” SportsCenter that night.
The next lesson in late action on Doubleheader day on FOX/Sunday Ticket in the Cowboys and 49ers in the 9th Overtime shootout of 1996 is : Here we Go again!! 😁🏈. These two have tense history going back to 1981 with Dwight Clark and the catch which sparked the flame of Montana and the 80's 49ers dynasty with Walsh and later George Sieffert. Barry Swizter has never won against the 49ers but with their see saw season continues knocks Steve Young out and Emmitt Smith and Ken Norton Jr have unpleasant words for each other in a slugfest on which they settle in OT and the Cowboys get the much needed win against a 49ers team who's had been a thorn in their ass, Espically between two of America Teams. As the 49ers trying to rebound with Steve Young out as Elvis Grbac take charge next week against the 49ers while the Cowboys fly home to Big D to take on Green Bay on Monday Night Football on ABC . End of lesson ( Pat Summerall and John Madden for the call for this game ) .😊😊
Their history goes go back farther than The Catch game. Dallas & SF met in the first 2 NFC Championship games in '70 and '71. Then they met again in the 1972 Divisional Playoff with Roger Staubach and the Cowboys erasing a 28-13 late 4th QTR deficit to upend the Niners 30-28. That was Staubach's first notable comeback. For the first 3 decades of the NFL-AFL merger, the Dallas-San Fransisco post season rivalry made it's legendary presence known. Sadly thats dwindled away in the past two decades.
The only time Barry Switzer would beat San Francisco.

It was after this game that the San Francisco Mayor called Elvis Grbac "an embarrassment to humankind."
Great rivalry.
Turnovers were the key in this rivalry.
Switzer's only career win over the 49ers as the Cowboys beat them for the first time since the 1993 NFC Championship game.
2:19 for this San Francisco mayor Willie Brown would call Elvis Grbac "a disgrace to humankind."
Did he really? Oh wow lol.

Willie Brown and his corruption calling Grbac a disgrace is funny as hell
Those hits on Steve Young would definitely be illegal today.

You could tell by this game that the two powers of the 90’s were a shell of themselves.
Christian Boddie yep and Green Bay was rising.
Espically with cowboys as their dynasty is crumbling with off field drama

Your exactly right
San Fran looks a bit better, but yeah, definitely aging.

And to think that the 49ers WITH Grbac (and also no running game) blew out Dallas in Texas Stadium the previous season...

Bro Steve Young was getting beat up in 1996 smh
Steve Young was getting punched out pretty much every season
Interesting Walsh became so involved that season. Debartolo was pissed with Seifert running the offense into the ground I think.
Barry Switzer moves to tears on the game tying score.

Aikman had more INTs than touchdowns that season
