I went through my eyeshadow palettes last night and I decluttered ND metropolis, retro, pastel, bronze, glam, yucca, Purple/Blue and Star palettes. I went through and chose/swapped out shades and made my perfect Biba, Lila and Gold palette. I never thought I would declutter all of my palettes, but realistically I was keeping it for this idea of my fantasy self and that person is never going to be me. You’ve just inspired me to go through and cut down even more makeup. I want it to all fit in one vanity instead of my vanity and nightstand

If I had ND metropolis you would have to prise it out of my cold dead hands😂? I am hoping that, one day, she brings it back.
@@sagebeauty honestly, I used to feel that way too and it’s a beautiful palette with great quality. I just don’t use colorful shades and I don’t like orange based warm tones on me and that’s the majority of the palette 🤣
@@LindseyBedro warm and orange tones suit me well so I get what you mean. It’s also a giant palette which is not always ideal for storage. I’m a MUA and use giant palettes a lot. Have a great day.
My favourite declutters are where there is reflection on why something isn’t working anymore so I can also look at how to curate my collection, curb my spending and not repeat my mistakes through impulse purchases.

Good for you! They say that good is the enemy of best. When you know what you love and keep reaching for that, all the rest is just clutter that gets in the way. It's so joyful to gain confidence, knowing what we love. In my closet I declutter pieces as I go when I try them on and it's just not quite right or I don't feel like myself in it. I'm trying to do the same with my makeup. I don't want to be wasteful, but it's freeing to acknowledge when something is a fail and then be gentle with ourselves. I usually give things multiple tries like a chopping block before the final good bye.

Makeup mystery boxes always suck us in! The vast majority of the time, half the products won't work for you. I do still subscribe to the Walmart Beauty Box, but it's under $7 per quarter. Even a Sydney Grace eyeshadow bundle backfired on me.

I have gotten rid of a lot of stuff, and not wearing as much makeup, wearing less often. It feels really nice to not have so much stuff, even though I didn't have much in the first place. And while I might want something here and there it's pretty infrequent that I am buying any makeup products at all, unless I run out of something. I might just shop Black Friday sales going forward if I need or want anything and get it for less $$$. I am to the point in life that I no longer want to spend a lot of makeup either. Good declutter.

Where do you declutter your items? I have only a couple of friends who like makeup to whom I can pass on opened items, and one of them is at their capacity for items. And shelters near me only take unopened products. I hate to throw away products that work, just not for me, but it often feels like that is the only option for decluttering. Thoughts?
It’s hard for sure I mostly have a few family members I give makeup to and some of them know other people who want them
Liquid highlighter drops are a no from me too. If I’m wearing a highlighter it’s in a powder form or it’s a bronzing balm highlight combo like the Tower 28 Bronzino in west coast, which may be my favourite makeup acquisition this year-in a year of far fewer makeup acquisitions.

I don’t wear as much makeup as I’ve gotten older. I feel better without foundation on and concealer getting o into my fine lines. I only wear liquid highlighter and very little of it. I love makeup but I’m sadly only wearing very natural, neutral shades now.
Wear it if you enjoy it! Maybe you can find a way to make it work ❤️
Maybe you can use neutral eye looks with a pop of color . I am dame team , i feel better without foundation on AND concelear
