Same for me I long looked for an Amiga theme for my Mate desktop ... Finally ended up more or less making my own Frankenstein-like theme... My dream, a Workbench 1.3 looking theme... I managed to get my hands on a set if Topaz fonts (A500, A600 and A1200)... Those nook nince, nice video Man 👍😁
Back in yhe days I made a theme for sawfish (the window managet). It was also configure to get rid of click to front and stuff like that. I miss those old windowmanagers of linux. A lot of them died during the gtk3 transition (not because of gtk3, but in those years)
Thank you for putting this together! A while back I installed the Maxx desktop to make linux look like my old SGI, but now I need to set the wayback machine even further back and try this.
Ohh. did some googling into the Maxx desktop and it looks very interesting. A real SGI never crossed my desk I am afraid. The closest I came to one was seeing a few of them in a server room at work at one time. Kind of still a black hole this part of important history for me, as they are impossible to emulate (still!!) and hard to come by used at a fair price. Would love to dig into it though. I guess we all had a dream of one day owning one back in those days! The same with Next computers! Thanx for the tip on Maxx! Will for sure give it a try!
Actually there is a theme for xfce with the amigaos4 look. So using this toturial with that theme should mostly get you there. Yt don't like links but just google for amigaos 4 theme xfce should get you there.

Wow. It looks really nice! I've always been curious if this is even possible.
Simply marvelous!
Thanks! I learned a few things to make my desktop look more like the Amiga. You should change your titlebar font as well.
Great video. Liked and subscribed.
Thanx a lot.
Very nice.
Does your phone have an Amiga (launcher) look too?
Hehe. It does not :)
@@proteque It would be nice. UAE4ARM app for Android works well.
Cool tutorial could you make one for a more modern Amiga OS like 4.1

now write some sort of script that updates the amount of free memory in the title bar. xD
Yes. I really should do that! Not sure if the xfce dock supports that in an easy way though. Any tip? :)
@@proteque genmon is a xfce-panel plugin that you can use to display the output of any command.
Thanx a lot. Will give it a try!
