I admire your confidence and willingness to use “new” products. I can’t imagine trying a product without having any idea as to whether it will give me what I need. I have learned a lot about products and what can be and can not be expected….albeit at your expense. Thank you for that!! I have incorporated your “working it into my strands” that you do so well. Just employing THAT technique of yours has made a huge difference in my results. So happy to see this video!! Keep-’em coming!!! 🥰
I’ve tried Olaplex, K18, and CurlSmith. The only one where I’ve seen consistent results that’s easy to apply to my hair is the Rehab Salve. I applied it like the instructions advised and I notice so much less frizz on my wash n gos and my hair looks so much more healthy. I just wish it had more lasting results because once I wash my hair on the off week, my wash n goes aren’t the same. I do want to try it after shampooing though
Agreed💯 CurlSmith Bond Salve is a clutch product gem. It address lackluster curls, frizz, and the need for a 1…2 bit of strength. BUT I maintain what is clutch for one is a giveaway or throwaway product for others. Great content, Brittany Mia❤
It’s almost been a year of me using Olaplex and I’m telling you, if you want something that lasts you may be better off using a professional product like the K18 or Olaplex. These are clinically proven to work, but the downside is, it takes time and consistency. Which isn’t really a downside lol but for some people who want a quick fix it is. I believe Redken also has a bond builder line. Although the bond rehab salve is a bond builder, it functions more like a protein treatment in my eyes. The results are very obvious, but very temporary imo. Tfs!
I am almost done combing out my micro locs! I have been binge watching your videos to see what. I think I would like/not like:) Continue to keep putting out content!! You’re sooooo needed!!
Im going on my 3rd week (I've had my locs in for 10.5 months) 🤕I just have two more locs to go and my hair appt is on Sat. I really miss doing my hair and although locs are low maintenance, I feel like I can still be a low maintenance loose natural. I am also cutting a couple of inches off too...a slightly tapered cut. SUPER excited@@BrittanyMia
Hello Brittany, I have used the Rehab Salve for over six months. It really has helped maintain my coils. I have used it on dirty and clean hair and also prefer the latter. I have Olaplex products and will be trying soon. I have used many Curlsmith products and like the products from all of their lines. I fortunately have not had the hair shedding/breakage problems experienced by some of your subscribers.
That miracle shield as an awesome leave in! Great detangle r - But thank you for saving me in purchasing the cream😊 I need hold! In my environment- humidity saver!
I have been using the salve and conditioner for a long time now. I use the salve before I shampoo as a pre poo and I let it sit for about 30mins. My strands are thicker and stronger as a result . I wash my hair 1-2 times a week and use the salve about 2x a month. The only other product of CS that I use is the balm from time to time to lightly hold my edges when I wear a poof or 2 French braids …thanks Brittany for your videos. I have been natural since 2019 and i am just in my groove with my hair. There was so much I just didn’t kno. Keep up the great work!!
Honestly I didnt like any of the curlsmith deep conditioners. They didnt do me any favors. My fave line is the blue line for a quick wash n go. The protein cream works well if I have a leave in underneath but you definitely need something to top it off with. One of my all time fave gels is the hydro style flexi jelly and its a great combo. Had the rehab salve a few years ago and finished it but I honestly cannot remember if it did anything for my hair and I find great results with K18 so I dont think I'll bother getting it again. I LOVE the foam for volume! Definitely no hold but the volume is awesome! I like curlsmith but am not in love with the brand enough. If you're interested in sustainable packaging with clean products like AG hair I recommend checking out ecoslay! They are super natural and actually give great results. The orange marmalade is a true all in one styler if your main thing is definition and moisture but not a crazy amount of hold. They are having 30% off now and are usually 40% of for black friday.
I always use Olaplex on shampooed hair because when I tried it on unwashed hair the results were meh. I actually emailed Olaplex customer service and they advised that the products are best used on clean, dry hair. So I shampoo and allow my hair to dry a bit then use the treatments and follow with another shampoo. Much better results that way.
I'm glad that line works for you. All Curlsmith products I've tried (bond salve, some sort of prepoo thing, and a deep conditioner) made my hair fall out in handfuls each wash day. I'm probably allergic to a main ingredient they use.
I feel you on the mask, I know the bond salve isn’t a conditioner but honestly I use it as one on clean hair because it gives me much more slip than the mask/leave in stuff
Hey curl sister, I just purchased the lg conditioner bottle from Marshall’s. I think your hair looks great. I love the shampoo and salve and feather light protein. I enjoyed your review.
I haven't used the Bond Salve, but I have a small bottle of it that came with my last Olaplex purchase from either Sephora or Ulta. Like you, I shampoo twice weekly so I don't feel my hair is very dirty when I use the Olaplex. It might work better if I shampoo before using, but I don't so I don't know. I know a lot of people say the No. 3 is fine by itself without the No. 1, but I use it to dampen my hair before applying the No. 3 and I like the outcome. I've tried it using only the No. 3 and for me, the result isn't the same. Due to mobility issues, it's too inconvenient for me to shampoo, get out of the shower to apply, and get back in to rinse and shampoo again. Once I'm in the shower I'm in until I'm finished with hair and body.
I’m starting not to like shampoo. I will only shampoo when I start to get build up on scalp and hair. If I don’t have build up on hair and have it on scalp I’ll just shampoo my roots. I will focus on moisture from conditioning every week. I will see how long it takes my hair to get build up. I’m thinking two or 3 weeks. I’ll use thick products on Sunday/wash/cowash day and light products throughout the week.
Ooooo keep me updated on how this works for you. I’m thinking of doing something similar, like using a balancing shampoo at my scalp, and a moisturizing shampoo on my mids to ends.
Great video! Thanks for sharing your experience. I tried the multitasking conditioner before and agreed, it doesn't have enough slip/not good enough to detangle my hair at the very least. But as for the other products, maybe using the bond treatment + all the protein line is not a good idea especially if your hair doesn't drink up protein. I'm not sure!!!
I'm new to the salve as i got it on sale for Black Friday, but i have to tell you, i love it. First time, i shampooed first, and enjoyed the results. I have high priority hair so supposed to just it 3-4 times for 30 min. My hair loves it I followed with curlsnithh 😢conditioning wash
I have only tried the Curlsmith Miracle Shield and have been using it for over 6 months as a silicone-free heat protectant. It's good stuff. I had already decided not to try other Curlsmith products a long while ago.
@@staciegreene2262 I am back to using ApHogee 2 step. I tried another brand, Botànika Beauty The Mender. As much as I wanted to like it, I realized that after every use I would see broke hairs the next day. I wanted to try Komaza Protein Strengthener but it's always out of stock. I don't like some of the ingredients in ApHogee but I used it for over a decade before so I am going to stick with it (again) for now.
I used olaplex on washed hair and curlsmith rehab salve and rinsed and washed hair. I prefer the curlsmith rehab salve. I was only using them for color treated hair. I will not be repurchasing as , I've grown out/cut most of the color. I've never been tempted to try any other curlsmith products.
I love your videos! It's rare to see other people review products who have the same hair texture as myself lbs. Have you ever tried the Mane Choice line? They have pretty okay Gel products.
I love the curlsmith strength line but it is one of those lines your hair for me at least has to learn to adapt to. I mainly just use the shampoo, leave in, rehab salve, and heat protectant from the line I have not tried the foam yet but the gel does not agree with my hair at all
i use the curb rehab salve after shampooing like i do with the olaplex. i never use things as a preshampoo treatment even if it says that on the bottle
Hey ! I use bond rehab, cream and foam from this line. It’s just okay for me, not bad but not very good neither. I prefer use this cream on wet /almost dry hair for best result. 🤨
It worked both ways, but better on clean hair. They even came out saying that it works better on clean hair. For me, the difference was in the feeling of my hair. My hair felt softer and just healthier. I could tell the treatment was actually working on clean hair. It still felt nice after using it as a prepoo, but not as great as after rinsing some product out. However, for the sake of time and depending on what state your hair is in, it does work on dirty hair, just not as well as on clean hair imo. It also depends on how much product is in the hair. Since I usually go a little heavy, I like to rinse the product out before using a treatment. But I think it’s best to fit it in wherever it works best in your routine. Hope this helps.

Hello Britanny, it would be interesting that you do like an update video for the actions you did take to limit breakage on your hair for like 7 month now (from your previous video:"wash and go’s are breaking off my hair | how I’m fixing it"). I just started to get rid off butter and oils and for that I did cut a lot of my hair that were pretty long but unhealthy and I want to do thing correctly by respecting what the specialists are saying but also if I can do more to prevent breakage before having to deal with it I will. I live in Paris/France and there are not specialists to my knowledge so if you could do an update video on what worked according to what you decided to implement 7 month ago, it would be great 😊 PS:I Know you did a lot of videos since that video, trying different products that I am watching now to get info. I so appreciate your work. As much of product junkie as I can be and as much as I have fun using products, this line was never attractive to me. Initially back in the day, I don't think it was marketed toward the afro textured hair .
I used the light weight cream and it made my hair feel breakable and weird ….. and I have high porosity hair so when I bought it was hoping it would make my hair like stronger but never again… it felt horrible and I put tgin daily moisturizing butter cuz that’s how bad my hair felt after………. I hate this line and I’m never going to use again….did I do something wrong?? Please tell me.
I come to this channel for all Curlsmith reviews, so I appreciate her work😊. But this review was contradicting, first she says that hair may look nice to us but it doesn’t feel right, but ends by saying the products aren’t the best , but likes how they made the hair feel. I’m confused lol
When I said “it may look nice, but it doesn’t feel right” I was describing the application of the feather light protein cream. Product application, not the end results. On Camera, it appeared that my curls were easily clumping, but the actual feeling of my hair felt off as I was applying that cream. This was simply to point out that, although it appeared to be doing something well, the actual feeling of my hair did not feel right. By the end of the video, when my hair was all styled and dried, my hair felt as though it got the benefits of the strengthening aspect of the line. I don’t believe it’s contradicting to point out at all.
