I admire your confidence and willingness to use “new” products. I can’t imagine trying a product without having any idea as to whether it will give me what I need. I have learned a lot about products and what can be and can not be expected….albeit at your expense. Thank you for that!! I have incorporated your “working it into my strands” that you do so well. Just employing THAT technique of yours has made a huge difference in my results. So happy to see this video!! Keep-’em coming!!! 🥰

I’ve tried Olaplex, K18, and CurlSmith. The only one where I’ve seen consistent results that’s easy to apply to my hair is the Rehab Salve. I applied it like the instructions advised and I notice so much less frizz on my wash n gos and my hair looks so much more healthy. I just wish it had more lasting results because once I wash my hair on the off week, my wash n goes aren’t the same. I do want to try it after shampooing though

Agreed💯 CurlSmith Bond Salve is a clutch product gem. It address lackluster curls, frizz, and the need for a 1…2 bit of strength.
BUT I maintain what is clutch for one is a giveaway or throwaway product for others.

It’s almost been a year of me using Olaplex and I’m telling you, if you want something that lasts you may be better off using a professional product like the K18 or Olaplex. These are clinically proven to work, but the downside is, it takes time and consistency. Which isn’t really a downside lol but for some people who want a quick fix it is. I believe Redken also has a bond builder line. Although the bond rehab salve is a bond builder, it functions more like a protein treatment in my eyes. The results are very obvious, but very temporary imo. Tfs!

I wash my hair 1-2 times a week and use the salve about 2x a month. The only other product of CS that I use is the balm from time to time to lightly hold my edges when I wear a poof or 2 French braids …thanks Brittany for your videos. Honestly I didnt like any of the curlsmith deep conditioners. They didnt do me any favors. My fave line is the blue line for a quick wash n go. The protein cream works well if I have a leave in underneath but you definitely need something to top it off with. One of my all time fave gels is the hydro style flexi jelly and its a great combo.
Had the rehab salve a few years ago and finished it but I honestly cannot remember if it did anything for my hair and I find great results with K18 so I dont think I'll bother getting it again. I LOVE the foam for volume! Definitely no hold but the volume is awesome!
I like curlsmith but am not in love with the brand enough.
If you're interested in sustainable packaging with clean products like AG hair I recommend checking out ecoslay! They are super natural and actually give great results. The orange marmalade is a true all in one styler if your main thing is definition and moisture but not a crazy amount of hold. They are having 30% off now and are usually 40% of for black friday.

I always use Olaplex on shampooed hair because when I tried it on unwashed hair the results were meh. I actually emailed Olaplex customer service and they advised that the products are best used on clean, dry hair. So I shampoo and allow my hair to dry a bit then use the treatments and follow with another shampoo. Much better results that way.

I haven't used the Bond Salve, but I have a small bottle of it that came with my last Olaplex purchase from either Sephora or Ulta. Like you, I shampoo twice weekly so I don't feel my hair is very dirty when I use the Olaplex. It might work better if I shampoo before using, but I don't so I don't know. I know a lot of people say the No. 3 is fine by itself without the No. 1, but I use it to dampen my hair before applying the No. 3 and I like the outcome. I've tried it using only the No. 3 and for me, the result isn't the same. Due to mobility issues, it's too inconvenient for me to shampoo, get out of the shower to apply, and get back in to rinse and shampoo again. Once I'm in the shower I'm in until I'm finished with hair and body.

I will focus on moisture from conditioning every week. I will see how long it takes my hair to get build up. I’m thinking two or 3 weeks. I’ll use thick products on Sunday/wash/cowash day and light products throughout the week.

Hi Question: Did you notice a difference in your hair when using olaplex on dirty hair vs clean hair? If so, what was the difference?

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  8 месяцев назад +1

It worked both ways, but better on clean hair. They even came out saying that it works better on clean hair. For me, the difference was in the feeling of my hair. My hair felt softer and just healthier. I could tell the treatment was actually working on clean hair. It still felt nice after using it as a prepoo, but not as great as after rinsing some product out. However, for the sake of time and depending on what state your hair is in, it does work on dirty hair, just not as well as on clean hair imo.
It also depends on how much product is in the hair. Since I usually go a little heavy, I like to rinse the product out before using a treatment.
But I think it’s best to fit it in wherever it works best in your routine. Hope this helps.

Hello Britanny, it would be interesting that you do like an update video for the actions you did take to limit breakage on your hair for like 7 month now (from your previous video:"wash and go’s are breaking off my hair | how I’m fixing it"). I just started to get rid off butter and oils and for that I did cut a lot of my hair that were pretty long but unhealthy and I want to do thing correctly by respecting what the specialists are saying but also if I can do more to prevent breakage before having to deal with it I will. I live in Paris/France and there are not specialists to my knowledge so if you could do an update video on what worked according to what you decided to implement 7 month ago, it would be great 😊
PS:I Know you did a lot of videos since that video, trying different products that I am watching now to get info. And sorry if my english is not that great 😅

When I said “it may look nice, but it doesn’t feel right” I was describing the application of the feather light protein cream. Product application, not the end results. On Camera, it appeared that my curls were easily clumping, but the actual feeling of my hair felt off as I was applying that cream. This was simply to point out that, although it appeared to be doing something well, the actual feeling of my hair did not feel right.
By the end of the video, when my hair was all styled and dried, my hair felt as though it got the benefits of the strengthening aspect of the line. I don’t believe it’s contradicting to point out at all.
