A year ago we build the worlds greatest swing set, which has been a SMASH hit on RUclips the kids and their friends. The only way I could think to make the swing set even better was too add on some more activities!
Follow as I build an obstacle course with a rock wall, rope ladder, monkey bars, ladder wall, Island bridge and elevated platform for our kids when they play in the backyard.
This jungle gym is perfect for a smaller backyard and still provides your kids with tons to play on.

The most rewarding thing is seeing your kids enjoy what you made just for them.
Your kids are very lucky to have such a kind dad.
Thanks Mark!
I can see your happy dad's face. Great great job
Great build. The only advice I would give to others is plan for the future. It appears your kids will out grow it within a cpl years so making it taller/bigger allows them to enjoy it even longer down the road.
Awesome to have your brother and kids helping you. core memory of their dad and uncle making something awesome for them! Love this idea
Thanks for the free plans and happy fathers day everyone
Thanks for watching Danny!
Love it completely inspired to do this for my little girl. You make it look easy. Well done Dad
Great job Dad! Your kids will always remember the "Worlds Best"...
I hope so! Thanks for watching.
It looks like a nice collection of climbing things.
P.S. When I watch your videos and see how you include the family it has brought tears to my eyes because I see the great American family. I then realize that the years I spent in service to our country was worth the sacrifice. God bless you and your family/
We thank you again for your service Dave, we truly appreciate the sacrifice.
My family thanks you also Dave!
Dave Harrington thank you for your service. & yes it is sweet to see his son grabbing screws and measuring wood with him. These are memories they will all later treasure forever. ❤️
Along with the world's greatest swing and the world's greatest mini obstacle course your kids now have the world's greatest DAD!!! GREAT JOB Tyler!!! 👍👍
Thanks Man!
Wow! Your kids are lucky! Not only the swingset and obstacle course, but that they get to help you build--great learning skills for their futures!
And, as a female who grew up wearing skirts all the time, I love that your girls are out there playing and climbing and helping you build in skirts. I'm a firm advocate that (almost) anything can be done in a skirt!
Plus it was fun seeing the cat enjoying the project, too. ;)
Thanks Beth, always good to hear the encouragement!
Great father. Wow. You are the number 1
Thanks Kevin!
You my friend are a star! Amazing build, hoping to replicate it in the UK
Great build Tyler. Your kids and the neighbor kids will love it. You are a great Dad
Thanks!!
Very nice ! I'm sure the kids will have years of fun.
I hope so, thanks for watching Tommy...hope all is well!
I love this! Not only are your kids getting great exercise from this, but this and the swing set encourages them to play outdoors. Well done!
Absolutely!!
Great job!
Looks great Tyler. I bet the kids enjoy it!
Thanks David!
Very nice addition to the back yard!
Thanks man!
Such a great and cool daddy! 😎
Awesome. Thank you for the tutorial.
I wish this was around when I purchased plans and a kit from that lumber place I'll call number 84 when my kids were small. All I had was a borrowed Skill Saw and a Crosscut handsaw for the cuts. The kit consisted of bulk pressure-treated wood and hardware dumped in my front yard. When my kids grew up, I put it for sale on Craigslist and it is still there I think. It was a good kit, with the main beam for the swings attached to a tarp-covered platform that also had a slide. Not quite as cool as your setup but my kids got plenty of enjoyment out of it.
Wow. Nice design and build and great job editing this one. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Tyler. I made this over the last few weeks. Made a few alterations along the way but thanks so much for the plans online. My girls love it.
Great job! your kids are so patient
Amazing build Tyler!! I know your kids are loving that obstacle course all the time! You did a great job explaining everything and it as always it’s a pleasure to watch you build because you are so through in everything you do. Happy Fathers Day and thanks to RIDGID and you for the free plans!!
Thanks Becky!!

Great work! I saw a very proud look on you which was probably a combination of proud of you work and watching your kids navigate the islands.
Always a good feeling to complete a project of this size!

Let me know when you're done!!
Awesome job Tyler! 👍👊
Thanks Fred!

U rock Tyler 👍👊!
Thanks for watching!
Have to say that I love it!!! A million thumbs up sir. I really love the Allen wrench in the drill to screw the eye bolt in. GENIUS!!! I wish my yard was big enough to build that. I want to make an adult one haha
Thanks Tyler/Rigid for the video and free plans! I am saving the plans for when I have kids myself! Keep up the good work; your videos are always entertaining and inspiring!
Thanks for the support Jacob! Hope the plans prove useful!
Love it
Very nice.
Thanks!!
@diytyler what did you use for the conduit collars to lock in the islands. Great video!
A great build. A suggestion. If you make long handles, that extend from the bottom of the entrance to the upper deck to the top of the upper deck, and put two on the outside and two where you already put handles, I think it would be easier for the kids to grab them and get on. That way, they can grab anywhere along the length of the handles.
A great idea! Thanks!
This makes me want to be a kid again
Hi D I y , it's great when your kids help , great project and fantastic video as always ,G
Thanks!
Super coool😍😍😍💯
There's something missing... Hmmmm?? I know! A splash of DIY Tyler Orange! (grin) Great job, Tyler!
Should paint the EMT orange!! Thanks for watching Dave!
Very nice
Thanks!
it looks like it might be a good cat Jungle Gym also looks like you got the cat seal of approval another great video
For sure, he had to look it over!
the cat probably thought you built it for him
Szép munka 👍🏻😊
Both the swing set and course is great!! I would love to make it with my husbands help. Where are your plans for your swing set & the obstacle course?
Well, I'm not a dad and I want to build this, but with pallets. Blue prints should be free for mother's day as well so us diy single moms can build something fun for our kids
Do you have a link to the swing set build, it looks awesome!!
Nevermind, I see it in recommended videos!
New video about the swing set coming out in about 30 mins!
Nice work young man. It must take you all weekend to maintain that yard.
With a proper mower it's not too bad! Thanks for watching William!
Man it stinks finding this before Father’s Day............ 2020!! 😤 Still gave me great ideas. 👍🏾
Another great job Ty.
Love this! Could a slide be added to the end with the rope ladder?
U could get them together with a rope and wood bridge. That would be cool!! I wish I had those skills!!
Good work man, saya dari jakarta, indonesia,
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Have you tried a longer chain on the bottom of the Islands?
Love, love, love!!
I dig it.
Sweet!
Cool project, Tyler! I just made an addition to the playhouse I built for my kids a couple of years ago. I'll be putting out a video in the next couple of weeks about it.
Thanks Bruce!
This is an awesome AWESOME build!!! Nice job
Thanks!
13:15 I like how you said “the cat” as in it was part of it, lol 😂
This is good, more ideas please
Accommodate around 200 kids
Will you anchor the construction in the ground, or is it not necessary?
Hey Mate, nice build for the kids, they are growing up quick, Mini Tyler will have his own woodwork channel soon :)
And there is... The Cat 😊😺 Good Work as always DIY Tyler 👍
Thanks man!
Tyler G Thank you for your good DIY Videos ☺
Nice job! What dimensions is the cat?
how is it anchored to the ground? no concerns of falling over?
Muito bem planejado, ótimo trabalho, parabéns
Love this idea so much I just got done buying all the materials off your plans ( with a couple changes) to start building it tomorrow. Keep up the great work!
This is so great! Is your base above the ground? We have turf in our backyard and cannot seem to find any plans that build above the ground without digging. Looking for guidance on building a stable base that does not need to be cemented or dug into the ground. Thank you!
Man I wish I had the skills and tools to do this!
Muito legal , que tipo de madeira é essa?
Still waiting on the world greatest and longest zip line lol awesome job Tyler
My dad keeps trying to talk me into that.....I just see trips to the ER!
great vid..thank u...how much did the build cost
If I remember right it was just under $1,000.
@@DIYTyler thanks
Really nice build for the children Tyler. Kudos to you man. All the best from North London. UK
Thanks Trev!!
As always a great job , Tyler ! Above of that , very good ideas you had in this project!
Congrats !
Nice job man, I don't know how you do it. I have 3 kids under 6 and it's start and stop every 5 minutes with them when I'm working on a project...guess you do a lot of video editing. Anyways you're a great dad to them. Have a Happy Father's Day!
There pretty good about staying out of the way, some days not so much. Thanks for watching!
Great video Tyler! And Ridgid is such a good company! #teamridgid
They are a fantastic company. Thanks for watching!
I like that the cat had a nano second of fame at the beginning there. Catstacle Course.
I commented too early, the cat received much more fame later.
I should have switch frames when he was mid jump! Thanks for watching!
Wow, absolutely amazing!! Will it fit a 7+ kids or some adjustments will need to be preformed?
Oh no, I actually missed this video in my sub list! Cheers for youtubes recommended... Amazing build, as always Tyler.
Thanks for watching!
Can you link the rock climbing hardware you purchased from amazon please? I ordered some from jungle gym on amazon but the bolts seem to be too short for the decking boards. Maybe the ones you purchased have longer bolts. Thank you
Nice 😊
Thanks!
Is this all pressure treated lumber?
amazing! nice work :)
Thanks a lot!
I like the cat wall.
Can you provide an estimated cost to build this please and thank you.
Nice build. I think I would’ve used a shackle for the conduit to chain connection instead of flattening the conduit. But, hey, if it works, why not.
What kind of shackle? Would be curious to know because I am not a big fan of the sharpish corner the flattening makes.
Tyler G well any kind of shackle really. Try mcmaster-carr, and search shackle and find the one that fits. McMaster-Carr is my go to for most hardware, but they are expensive, so I usually find why I need there, and then shop for a better price.
What would you say this project cost? Thank you so much for sharing!
Believe it was about $900 in material.
