#AllDogsGoToHeaven #DonBluth
It’s just as well you’re showing the theatrical cut. The uncut version is more disturbing in that Canine Satan actually *welcomes* Charlie, in that deep, haunting voice. “NOW YOU ARE MINE!” And then laughs at his despair.
But now that I’m older, this scene is ESPECIALLY terrifying because of the pretty nasty implication: Charlie is the *first* dog to be sent to Hell. No wonder Canine Satan was so wickedly happy.
I thought Charlie was really in hell when I first saw this as a kid.
I know right but it was a nightmare. Charlie would’ve had a hell of a ride there, no pun intended.
I thought the same thing when I 1st saw this movie 💀
You can just feel how Charlie thinks he is safe and sound after he wakes up, but that doesn't excuse the reality that he did the wrong thing for rewinding his watch. He legit keeps pushing himself to think nothing will go wrong. Not to mention that his loved ones will never know how he beat death by complete chance.
Right, he escaped heaven, which is forbidden and he can "never come back". This is why he was haunted in this dream.
I never saw this movie…but I gotta say, at least out of context…this is one of the most uniquely terrifying and discomfiting things I’ve seen in ages.
He cheated death by forfeiting his place in heaven, but if he ever dies again, or if something ever happens to the pocket watch, he's going straight to hell. And he knows this, so he has nightmares of it.
Should watch the nightmare scene from the animated film 100x worse trust Felidae
@@streamlinedub That is in my watchlist actually. A while ago I went to my local DVD store for it but IIRC it was never released on US DVD.
One of my early years nightmare.
The loud sounds, dark colors, shapes, etc.
These factors made me remeber this scene for years as something scary.
When I was a kid I would run out screaming at this scene, now as an adult I am hypnotized by it.
Something about the buildup am I right? This whole scene builds up perfectly from an explosion to a seeming summoning circle... of lightning... but even when the lightning stops you know that place is dangerous as the ground begins to shake leading to an explosion blasting a hole in the earth and from what It launched into the clouds comes a tornado that seems to pull Charlie and the viewer in, but instead of going up... we go down... then we land in a river of lava on a stone boat with bones and chaos everywhere and then the devil appears grinning ear to ear to see us. He then breaths fire which becomes imps who begin to attack and bite all over us. No escape.... You can never... Go back...

Romans 10:9-10
“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. ”
This scene scared me half to death as a kid.
It stills frightens me today
Man, you ain't kidding.
Agree
That didn't scared me.
That dose not scare me.
This scene has been stuck in my mind forever since I first saw it when I was a kid.
Same. One of the few scenes I remembered.
It's shame that the director cut was stolen before it could be released nobody knows where it is or who did it?
You, too?
Not very many movies had the balls to depict actual Hell. Much less a children's animated movie. This scene reminds me of the ideas seemingly behind the oldest fairy tales... to scare kids to do good or avoid terrible fates.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

R.I.P. Burt Reynolds aka Charlie B.Barkin
I'm 33 years old, and even though to this day, I love this movie and am a fan of Don Bluth's work, I still don't get why my mother let me watch this as a baby.
When I was a kid, this was OK but ren and stimpy was off limits.
Cuz cartoon and the title is misleading
Though this is not the darkest part of the movie because during the filming of the movie a child actress died by her father who killed his family and shot himself in fact some scenes with Charlie are his voice after the girl death
@@davidneedles5389 you talking about the voice actress for ducky from land before time? Charlies voice actor is her dad?

The thing is, Charlie’s nightmare actually came true when he died a second time saving Ann Marie. He was sent to Hell, and been there for a bit, before Canine Satan allowed Charlie to see Ann Marie in the realm of the living one last time. But because of Charlie’s selflessness in giving up his life saving hers, he redeems himself and was granted entry back to heaven.

Yeah it would’ve been crazy if Charlie ended up on the netherworld. But luckily all dogs go to heaven but except Carface who sold his soul to Red to be able to be seen and touch stuff lol 😂. Annabelle said that most dogs are born selfless, which got me laughing cause apart from Carface and Charlie’s cases from where they weren’t selfless. But Charlie did feed Flo and her puppies and helped his friends a few times so I would give him that as selfless. And Carface helped saved Christmas after a little convincing from when it was Charlie’s turn, showing him about his fate of facing death in his future, he came to his senses. Even Annabelle saved him from Belladonna’s wrath after turning off the whistle, regardless if Carface didn’t deserve after from all the trouble he caused.
For most people, truth is that the sequel is non canon.
Oh, , that's such a cute kids movie, recommended for bedtime 🥲
