I’m looking to paint a 6 drawer dresser that’s 57” long. It’s white now and I plan to paint it with Modern Masters “Champagne” color. Would the 6” container be enough for two coats or would I need their quart size container? Thanks, love your videos.
We really love this effect. We were shooting for a little blending of silver and an underlying gold or copper tint. Do you think if we chose a different 2nd color from the black that it would still look nice? Haven't worked with metallics, so just wondering.
I am going for a similar look on my bathroom cabinets since my walls are metallic champagne, copper, on top of purple and black. I'm probably going a shade or two lighter since the countertop is mostly white marble with light grey marblizing. I want the color of the cabinets to compliment the rich tones on the wall. Thank you for doing the video and Thank the person asking the same question I need answered.1. When do you apply the Shellac 2. Should I wipe the ebony down before Applying the champagne, coppers and maybe bronze (just thought of using bronze not sure yet) Thank You for your informative video Good Day & Stay Healthy
Love this industrial finish! How do I apply the top coat? On the video it says that you sprayed it... not sure how would I spray it on my bathroom cabinets. Thanks so much!
Thanks Monica! You don’t need to spray. I did it to save time, but I also don’t like to use a spray inside my house. You can brush the top coat using a good quality brush or a foam brush. Good luck!
I have a pier one Hay Worth head board which is metallic grey. I just purchased a used dresser and I want to do this so bad! I have never done anything like this before. Please help me be proud!

I am trying to find the step by step directions to paint this in written form. The industrial metalic finish silver dresser. I found it once and am unable to locate it again. Can someone help me?
Hi, I've been watching your video for some time now. I really like y style and techniques.Question; instead of Fussion, would Anne Sloan work and get same results?
Thanks, Katheryne! You can do this blending technique using any paint. Remember to add water to your mix of colors, so they blend smoothly and beautifully. I don't think Anne Sloan has metallic colors, though. I believe Fusion does have a line of metallic colors, but I've never tried them. Good luck!
Beautiful finish Pat! Thanks for sharing your technique via video, you make it look so easy! Saved to my furniture techniques video list. And thanks for sharing your project at #FridaysFurnitureFix too !
You do such awesome work Pat! I wish you could put out more videos.
Nice video. Brief and concise. Beautiful result.
Oh my!! I love this. I am just about to start a dresser and this is what I'm aiming to achieve!! Thank you so much for the inspiration!!

I usually need several coats of metallic paint to get the finish I like. I’d probably get a quart.
This is my favorite video that I fell in love with the color!!!!
Thanks! It’s indeed a great color!

I think it would look amazing. When in doubt, test on a small piece of cardboard or wood.

Please please try making videos with voiceover! I like to listen to I tutorials while painting and cleaning and I love your work!
I want to try this with gold and copper or gold and champagne or gold and silver.. what’s a good base color for gold?
For gold I use a taupe or dark beige as base color.
Is the Ash dark like charcoal or lighter like grey? Just wondering it's as beautiful (on the video) before as it is after the metalic is aapplied.
Yes, Ash is a very dark gray. Almost black.
Great job beautiful
Do you have to sand the piece down first? I think the furniture I have is plywood, so I'm not sure where to start. Thank you!
No, I just light sand it and clean it well before applying the shellac.
Thanks for the question and response! To be clear, are you saying this technique can be used on plywood as long as it’s lightly sanded first?

I wasn't able to get the fusion paint. Can I use chalk paint instead(chalkcoal color)?
Yes, that works!

this looks awesome can you brush on the top coat instead of spraying?
Thanks! Yes, definitely. Just give the glaze a couple of days to dry completely before brushing any top coat.
What are the names of the Metallic colors you used please. Is the Ash color a FLAT paint?
The list of materials and links to them are in the video description.
Metallic colors are Modern Masters Black Pearl and Silver. 😊
Oh, and the Ash color is lightly satin.

What kind of paint brush do you use for painting furniture for the least amount of brush strokes?
Hi Abby, my favorite brush for a smooth finish is this one: goo.gl/TTA5AJ
I have a piece that is black already. Do I still have to paint it first?
No Traci, you can leave the black paint. Just light sand and clean it super well, then proceed to apply the metallic colors. Good luck!
The Wood Spa by Pat Rios thanks for the reply.
What two metallic colours do you use for this particular project?
Modern Masters Black Pearl and Silver.
Thank you. Can you use pewter instead of the silver?
