for whatever reason (macho-madness), the knuckle-ball doesn't get the credit it deserves. it seems all pitchers nowadays see the pitch as a last-ditch means to get into the MLB...it shouldn't be like that at all. it's a pitch unto-itself. RA Dickey won the Cy Young with the pitch(!)...2012...for him, it (the knuckleball) was a last-ditch effort to join the MLB. that alone should tell others, your riches await you, if you'd ditch the old, macho-mentality...for greatness. i've been watching the actual use of the knuckle-ball since 1992-ish. yeah. Tom Candiotti, Toronto Blue Jays, from the LA Dodgers. and, i saw how he rated in the top-5 ERA in the American League. and still, people treat the pitch like it's a fluke - because 'they don't know'...it's the passing air, as it hits the non-rotating seams, that causes turbulence in the baseball's movement. the next thing, is belief and practice. it really helps too, if you can throw a baseball in the 90+ mph range too. that's literally all there is, to being the #1 pitcher in MLB as a knuckleballer. if i had the physical ability, obviously i'd be that guy...but, how many people have the physical and mental traits necessary?
You totally get it, this is the best comment I've had since I have started doing social media. I'm doing everything I can to bring the knuckleball back. It will come back and save the game from everyone blowing out their arm. Keep it up man and letting people know. We are saving the game, but more importantly saving young arms from blowing out.
I'd totally say if a starter can throw 90~100 knuckleballs at ease, that's the scariest pitcher to ever exist.
Yeah absolutely no question
