I don't like modern minimalistic styles usually BUT I really liked this house.The staging is probably the reason I liked it,it was well done.I could see myself in this house,very nice and airy feel to it.
Loved the arched doorways! Beautiful. The only thing that would make me love this more is if more use of pocket doors instead of standard swing doors. Would have been great pairing with the classic vibe.
The list price is ambitious because who's the buyer? Imagine you have the $4.3mil to buy this semi-detached house. The expectation is that your neighbours are somewhat in the same tax bracket as you are, that there are good schools in the area and that the neighbourhood is safe. Lisgar is rundown compared to Argyle.
Stunning house inside and out but who would spend $4 million to live next door to those neighbors? The expectation might be that those homes will soon be snapped up soon and fully renovated but there is no guarantee of that. I have lived in this city long enough to know what happens. I have seen beautiful fully renovated homes that have been in Cabbagetown for the last 40 years and alongside them are rooming houses that have been there the same time. . Even if all the homes were brought up to that level on that street is a semidetached in that area really worth $4 million? Seems like a ridiculous price point.
Good luck to whoever bought this above asking. As China's RE bubble continues deflate and debt crisis escalates, less and less "Canadian home buyers" will be looking to snap up properties in the higher range. The sluggish Canadian economy and impending interest raise will take its toll on domestic buyers as well.

agreed! the neighbouring houses are a bit run down and the school point is a good one. the reno is very nice though !
