Your Sabre is awesome. I rode a cousins sabre he bought in 83 84. That twisted my brain. Great bike you have. I have a 82 magna. I sure wish it was a Sabre. Great videos by the way. You have been a help to me with the magna. Way to go. Brother

Yeo! Be careful of low revs below 3,000 RPM, these bikes are known to have an issue where the head does not receive enough oil in low rpm. Theres a few solutions but the easiest is revving higher more often and using premium fuel that burns cooler. that way the oil pumps have more flow to the head. Picking up my v45 tomorrow. So excited

So, i have an 82 saber thats been a project since i got it. And tbh i havent actually ridden yet. But i have learned from it. The battery drains from the clock, yes, its worth the time and effort to either keep it on a charger or disconnect the battery if you dont plan on using it every day. Also, the petcock is vacuum operated. If its getting up there with age and not being ridden enough, the gas can leak through your petcock making the gas over time drain all the way into your crank case if it sits there long enough. This is also a sign that your petcock is nearing the end of its lifespan and should be maintained. There are two preventitive measures for this btw, primarily riding your bike because the gas helps lubricate the seals. And draining the tank before storage.
