We are Heather, Bradey, Alexa and Chloe. We purchased an abandoned stone barn in the foothills of the Italian Alps and we are working together as a family to renovate and restore this old stone barn into our dream home.
These stonemasons are awesome. What a privilege to have access to such talented craftsmen.
Gorgeous, ❤.
A great skilled craft that modern building processes can’t replicate, slow citti, slow food, slow crafting makes perfection in life!
Those guys are very talented stone masons. What a beautiful job they have done. X
They are beyond craftsmen, they are artists.
That's exactly what I was going to say.
Tell the Italian stone masons it's a thrill to see their workmanship. Skills passed down through the generations.
Some art is hung on walls. Some sit in the town center. Some we get to live in. The masons are true artist. Please let them know many are amazed by their talent.
Well said
Yes they are great artists, and their work will persist through the years to come, many generations forward!
😮well it's es to talk and easy to Nit pick when one is just an onlooker. A bit different when one is actually doing the hard graft. You are doing so well and it is all looking pretty amazing . Congratulations to all concerned.
Master craftsmen surely, not artists. Both have their storied places in the world.
Many congratulations! It’s looking amazing
Generally craftsman don’t like to work with homeowners because they have too many ignorant opinions, and not enough skill. These fantastic craftsman treat you like a good hoddie, which is a huge compliment. It’s amazing to see how much you’ve picked up in your short time with them. One of my favorite parts of this channel is just watching y’all work with such good flow and attitude-work is not a four letter word to you two-it’s a blessed opportunity-and that is a joy to watch.
Thank you for introducing me to the term "hoddie" - I looked it up and learned of how it derives from the word "hod". This channel is so educational!
“Are you still alive?”
“Si!”
“Tutto bene!”
🤣
Italians are a different people
Thank you all here, love watching the artisan stone workers. Don't laugh, humble men. Just beautiful.
I could watch this work for hours. It amazes me how talented those stone masons are.
Thank you!!
Truly I am enjoying the master skills of these stonemasons! Please let them know their skills and talents are enjoyed around the world. Michigan USA
You found some very special folk in Italy to work with you. They're very special they have shared with you a lifetime of knowledge being stonemasons. You also have been an outstanding apprentice.
They do all that work in tandem with barely a word spoken between them. It’s such a pleasure to watch these true artisans in action!
they are artisans from Bergamo when you work you don't talk much
The Artisans at Bergamo says: dai laüra, dat de fà,e a la öna, dai poche parole!!
Those words means, work no wasting time.
Bergamo artisans are well known for been hard workers.
In fact is happily surprisingly to see Brady working at their same level.
Greetings from a small place in the Caribbean.
Wow, these men who are with you are just amazing! They speak Italian and understand English. How wonderful! Very talented men who know what they are doing! The house looks great, it is getting there. You and Sara, will have an amazing mountain house soon. Very happy to see your channel. Thank you for posting your video. It is so uplifting!
Brady's wife's name is Heather.
Every time I see the wall come down and the mason asks "You still alive" I'm instantly taken back to the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun" when the wall comes down in the same manor and the Italian mason has pretty much the same reaction. It gives me joy!!
Love all the builds/teardowns and views from your slice of heaven!
Actually in that film most of the masons are Polish and some with university degrees...
The stonemasons should have their own RUclips channel. I would watch them for hours. 👏
I would never want to leave if I lived there.
It is tranquil and beautiful.
@@Chereese0808 It is really very tranquil.
People born in big cities has to learn to leave that way
The stonemasons are artist. I could watch them do that all day. Amazing
I find your editing of what you are doing the use of pleasant music ,your conversations, the scenery, are very enjoyable to watch. The home you are creating, is a direct reflection of who you are, hard working, creative, deeply caring husband and wife raising a family in the best way possible.
WONDERFUL!!!
How lucky you are to have two amazing craftsmen to help take your home to a whole new level. So impressed and in love with your project.
Thank you so much!
It's so inspiring to watch those stone masons at work, and Brady you look so much part of their team, your enjoyment of the craft shows in your body language. It's beautiful to watch the process. Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Props to these stone masons! Their work is exquisite. Thankfully there are still craftsmen with this talent. You guys must be so excited for the progress! I know I am!
You're so lucky to have those stone masons, they're gifted. And doing a good job.
You got two stone wizards there!!❤
It’s fascinating watching the stone masons making their craft look effortless. ❤
Very interesting to see how the arch is built. I hope your stone masons are teaching the younger generations.
It’s wonderful to see the skills being passed on to a new generation. Your channel is like watching a well done education documentary. I would love to see you all wearing ear protection. ❤
I agree! More ear and eye protection and masks for all the dust.🙂
I'm in awe of the craftmanship showing up in this build/renovation, they are true artisans you have working for you, what a blessing. I've always been fascinated by stone or brick work and big rocks in general. And along with the stunning views & surroundings it will be a very special place to dwell in when complete.
The view of the new addition is a work of art, so precise, looks smooth and flat with the beautiful colors of the stone setting off in the sunlight!
Those stonemasons have a very special gift working with stones and how they can mold it into what the house needs after a long sleepy slumber! I forgot how you acquired these two men! What they are showing to the world of their craftsmanship, they will have customers lining up for their services! A great way to promote their business! They have done well and a treasure to have! You have done very well as a quick study and you can use it to your advantage when you want to build a shed or barn at some point in the future! Or help a friend! Great video and tell these men we love them and their craftsmanship are excellent!
stonemasons from bergamo don't need any promotion from this channel...they are the best in italy and italians know that.
In bergamo you'll find ten of thousands of people like those 2😂
Bravissimo, lovely watching talented craftsmen doing their work. I hope there are young men and women watching to see you don’t need a degree to do not only have a great career, but work that is desperately needed around the world. Pick a trade and get the training… Working with your hands is a very satisfying thing😅!
I honestly happened upon your page a few days ago it has always been my dream to live on my older years in the mountains of Italy being that I'm from the Caribbean you know how far fetched that is iwent back to the beginning of your journey and now im hear your family is beautiful and i remember when my mom started our home i was 19 going to college classes online and every afternoon we came over to our now home and tie steel just like you and the girls did i made 40 this year my daughter is 20 and my son is six my mom and i sat and watched your videos it brought back such good memories i pray the lord continues to bless and guide your family along this amazing journey ❤❤
What a lost Art. So happy to see some parts of the world, are still practicing this Art. Well done! Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸 💖
You are so lucky to have workers who perfectly master the original stone construction from the region.
Ingenious that styrofoam archway as a mould. Can’t wait to see you settled in that beautiful house
You found some great craftsmen, hard workers
"A house with good bones is a work of art that grows with the love it receives." I’ve enjoyed this content with my Sunday morning coffee before church since the beginning. You guys are getting there brick by brick! Happy Easter and may God Bless your family and those that are helping you along the way.
I agree with @NancGall-wl5rw I too am enjoying the master skills of these stonemasons! Please let them know their skills and talents are enjoyed around the world. watching from Cambridgeshire, UK. It is a privilege to be able to watch them and that they have allowed you to be able to film them for us to see. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Have a lovely day Brady, Heather and the hardworking craftsmen. Brady please put eye protection on please.
It's Easter Sunday morning when I'm watching this. Your stone mason friends are truly amazing but so are you to even keep up with them. When you are done with this project you will be well on your way to being a stone mason yourself. I was really hoping to hear a lot of the bells today but the arch makes up for it. So beautiful.
❤....to be young again. What a cherishable home.
It's so clear that you have construction experience to achieve all these complex projects. Wow! So much work and you're very fortunate to have these italian workers who know how to craft stone!
You could not have found better stonemasons if you tried! It's been a privilege watching them work ❤️
I have always wondered how these stone arches where formed. Now I know. 😊
Please give Carlo our best! He is so skilled, like Alessio, but he is also SO FUNNY!!
And your stonework gets better and better every time the Stone Masons are brilliant at what they do
Two words of Italian I have learned from watching your videos. Molto and bene. 😅😅
That outdoor kitchen was the best thing you made, and the most useful.
That's awesome!
The stone archway is going to look fabulous!
The architecture of the stone is amazing! It reminds me of, historically, of how ancient stone castles were built. ❤
It’s such a pleasure watching the stone masons!
Brady fascinating watching the stone masons working what a talent, but truthfully I would not have the patience or strength to do what u guys are doing.. Thanks for taking us along.. a Sunday tradition here watching u…
What a privilege to watch how these craftsmen accomplish their art.
Those men are just incredible. I'd have a pile of gravel. What skill.
How fortunate you are to have hard working skilled & caring stone craftsman. Their work is a master piece. You’re home is already looking beautiful.
Incredible watching this amazing skilful work being carried out. Fantastic find these two italian gentleman who are helping you recreate the art of stone masonary at its bedt. Ancient skills past from generation to generation. You guys are so very lucky to have them .... just wow how quickly they work being able to see this develop into an archway
Your masons are top level masters! Make coffee for them more often😀☝️
I ditto so many of the comments below... The stonemasons are incredibly talented! So interesting to watch... My husband and I built a rock wall as a large planter bed at our first house. It probably still stands today. ;) I read and read about getting the cornerstones, and slightly leaning the stones for dry-stacked stone walls. Then we built! Hubby pushed, rolled and carried stones up the hill from the unbuilt greenbelt in our subdivision behind our house. But we did very little chipping of the stones themselves. Since we made that three-sided planter bed, I went and grabbed my husband to come and see how you built the archway. Amazing!!! I never would have thought of using styrofoam and sand as a surface to build onto! What a learning curve (pun unintended)!! I am learning sooo much. Wish I was in our early 30's all over again. ;)
Really enjoying watching your whole house rebuild. Thank you! Happy Easter to you all!! ✝💞
The music in the background reminds me of an old masters' Apprentices song, It's because I love you. Appropriate
I do love to watch all of these old skills being retained and revived. You just do not get to see this very often, and I find it wonderful that you are able to find such men with these skills in stone masonry and employ them, and getting to watch and learn from them. This is priceless, and timeless. I can now begin to see how beautiful your home is going to be, and will be, for the generations to follow, Lord knows how far into the future.
Bradey, Heather, Alexa, Chloe, Happy Easter God bless you all God bless your Family's The arches are going to be beautiful. See you next video.
Thank you! You too!
Arches make the home...beautifully done !
Wow! It is amazing to watch this doorway and arch come together. These men are true artists and I love the camaraderie with all of you.
I think the new stone looks so much better than the old. They put he art to it indeed.
I enjoy this so much. I am so anxious each Sunday after church to watch the latest update!! It is very exciting to see the progress and the beautiful craftsmanship being created. Y'all are so blessed.
That tink, tink, tink sound reminds me of wandering in a Roman cemetery, hearing the sound and coming upon a craftsman creating a tombstone
The stonemason are great. they do great work. Thank you guys.
I am amazed by the skill of the stonemasons and Bradey is learning fast. Such energy and strength! Pleeease remember to protect yourself - hard hats and eye protectors. One chip from the stone …. Love your videos.
Your house is taking shape, it's wonderful! You are all great, including your beautiful family. Day after day, new and unexpected projects are discovered. Congratulations from an old Italian woman who follows you all and appreciates you so' much. Also for your Italian; i like hearing you speak in my language, you are perfect, you have no inflections, like a real Italian. Molto bravo!
Stone artists, your workers are amazing craftsmen! Looking like progress.
I see these two people will have a home, and it's foundation will be one of love. This is true 'cos it can be a house, bit it cannot be a home without Love & Respect, so it will be as close to near perfect that you can get. Really, it will mean that they have it all.
I am so glad there is someone to help you with this. Good job!
WOW! Two outstanding stone masons. They are awesome. It amazes me how talented they are. I would love to work with them. Looking good. ❤❤😊😊
Buona Pasqua! Due operai bravissimi, bravi tutti, complimenti anche per i muri della nuova costruzione. Auguri dalle Dolomiti. 👍👍👍

It’s relaxing to watch this house building process.
It’s a beautiful landscape , love the mountains.
The location of this home is perfect to appreciate the formidable views this beautiful place has to offer .
Congratulations to the stonemasons and qualified hand that preserve ancient building techniques.
Blessings to you and your family.
Keep up with the hard work.
That stone arch would be gorgeous on the exterior main entrance of the house.
Amazing what those stone artists did accomplish so far, I am really impressed! I can never look at old stone walls like I did before! Last week I was in Mont St. Michel in Normandy to finally visit its world famous abbey almost in the middle of the sea. I had close looks at many of the impressive stone walls and wondering what the builders had in mind all this time ago.
The house is really beginning to take shape. What great craftmans you found to do the stone work, and how the amount you have learned is priceless.
I love how this channel is turning into an artisan masterclass!
Absolutely beautiful arch! I wondered how you were going to build it, and what part the form had to play in it. Those masons are fantastic, and you're picking up some really great training from them. Really looking forward to next week! Blessings!
Everyone is praising these amazing stone masons but I have to say, Brady you are not bad yourself. You have been a quick study.
Yes stressful, but so Gorgeous ❗️ thank you for sharing this...
Love how you guys embrace the journey with all of its ups and downs!❤
the stone workmanship is amazing.
Guedelon castle is in France and is a 13th century castle being built useing the old methods , maybe go visit there to get more ideas for your place, and talk to the stone masons there
I love the archway . It opens up the rooms nicely I think it's a wonderful design in a house
Just as well you've got those two masons there to give you a hand. Oh those big heavy stones tumbling down. 😮
My favorite part watching the two gentlemen doing their craft (stone work)
Wow, you have two artisans working for you. Keep going, you’ll eventually have a beautiful home, probably won’t need air conditioning given that a stone house will be cooler in the Summer. Thank you for sharing your story. ~Namaste
The stonemasons work are awesome, they give their heart to work on ur house 😊
I could watch this for hours. 😘
So good to know these masons beside you. Nothing won't ever fall apart. Happy Easter. 🐰
Happy Easter!
You are a great inspiration my friend.... Well done to you and your beautiful familia...
Many greetings and love from Greece.
My favourite Sunday upload x
Yay! Thank you!
When I did engineering, I studied the Archway, and I never really appreciated that, But to see it built and come together like this is really very good
🐰 Happy Easter!!! 🐣🎶❤️🎶🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🥰
Welcome Back
I so enjoy these videos. Your house will be beautiful. You are so skilled. Also the two workers are so skilled at their craft besides being two very handsome men. Thank you for sharing. I've turned on four of my friends to your videos. Can't wait to see it all done.
Yea! We’re going to Italy!! What’s up?
The stonemasons are fabulous~ such artists with their material!
Ha! Well done. Cement. Mortar. Concrete.
BTW the arch looks beautiful.
Depends on where you are coming from. Cement is the substance however commonly used as the mix with fine sand for laying hard bricks and simply called cement, ciment, etc. Mortar however is more of an adhesive, a mix and can be much different in strenght, water retension, flexibility, durability and the mix can next to the specific cement and sand have lime added to it. This is typically used when working with all kinds of sand-stone (soft stone), natuaral or fabricated, straight or unevenly shaped or for pointing walls while it is more flexible and easy to redo/repair. Concrete however is the mix of concrete cement, stones or little rock pieces or pebbles, fine sand and if you like addatives like for strenght, flexibility, weight, waterproofing, etc. This is the hardest of them all and gives a solid adhesive solution. In normal masonary you do not use concrete because the stones easily unset the bricks. Guess for the slade stone application, very hard stone, you would use the 32.5N/mm² class cement which is used in generally concrete together with sand. That does not make it concrete, it is really cement while using concrete cement as base making it hard, not flexibile, like portland cement (which really is just a name of the collor of the cement named after the cliffs of portland). The rule of thumb is that you use a mortar/cement that is equal or less hard to the hardness of the stone you use to work with.
Happy Easter!! Jesus is Lord!!
Blessings
Awesome stone work to put it mildly many blessings from North Texas ❤
