The brass blades are definitely the gold standard I believe those ones seem to fetch more money

That R&M blade was painted a brass color at some point in time. Should actually be black like all the others - it is not pure brass. To test if whether or not a blade is brass, take a magnet and see if it sticks on the desired area. If it does not stick, it’s brass.
I’m on the Board of Directors for the Antique Fan Collectors Assn. While all of these models are quite common and I don’t necessarily desire any of them, they are indeed great resale fodder. I do the same thing with eBay and Marketplace with fans I no longer need or feel like making way for new additions.

Just did the magnet test and it passed it is brass it’s not steel and it wasn’t painted
My 30's R&M has black painted ALUMINUM fan blades. Found that out when I stripped the old paint...
Do you ever wonder why more of our grandparents werent missing fingers with those things around in those days?
Lol A lot of people were missing all kinds of body parts when I was growing up fans, Wars Industrial accidents people work hard ass back in the day

As always, some great pick ups. I recently scored on 3 boxes of vintage perfume bottles ($60)and 2 boxes of vintage brass figures ($40). I have sold 2 perfume bottles on line to date ($50 and $39). Any one interested in either category, check out Mercari.

Steal of a deal! Any of them brass under the paint? Brass caged and bladed ones sell for significantly better money, so you might want to break out a magnet and check.
The large robins and Myers is brass that’s probably the best fan all the other ones are steel. Five are very nice one is for parts and the little one I didn’t show it was a kold air What channel listing for parts to repair it actually works. all of them to work. Very pleased.
