  • An African-American family realise have the plan all set out until things take an unexpected twist. This encounters them face to face with the health injustices on the registry. In this video, I discuss:
    Bone marrow transplants
    Match likelihood by ethnicity
    Incompatible patch transplants
    Causes of acute scrotal pain
    Missing a diagnosis
    Traumatised doctors
    Graft vs. host disease
and many more (also bad jokes, lots of those)!

This episode only makes full sense when you watch the previous one where Foreman relives his memories from the hood here: ruclips.net/video/NBsHDKN2oXo/видео.html

When I was young, my dad pulled over the car when he saw a house on fire. We were in a rural area so no help had arrived yet. He saved an elderly woman who had been severely burned trying to rescue her cats from the fire. I thought it was very brave/altruistic of him, but I think it always haunted him. The woman lived a few more months in agony from the burns before finally passing away. I think my dad always felt guilty he saved her, or atleast saved her after she was beyond recovery. Even being a hero can be tragic I guess.

I remember this episode as the one where House gets a flame walking cane, and the bone marrow transplant, first time I ever watched it in TV

Nice reaction! Question: what's the lowest match (e.g. 4/6) that NHS would pay for and support in the UK? If you had a low match could you 'hail mary' it and attempt it even if it was a remote chance for success?

      Hi Echelar!
It's important for me to preface this with the fact that haematology isn't my specialty of expertise. But, as far as I'm aware, the least that would be recommended for a match would be 4/6 for the risks of the procedure to outweigh the benefits.
      Hope that helps :)

Loved your reactions to this one! :) You often ask questions during the video for people to answer below, but I have no way to know which answers are correct or not. It'd be nice if you'd include at the bottom of your pinned comment Answer: x in each video so people can check their answers, or give the answer to the question in video 1 at the beginning of video 2, so people can make their guesses and we can find out the answer later. Just a suggestion. :)

Yeah, I would like that too. Though I guess if we really wanted to, we could just search online for the answer. I think answering questions in videos would be a good way to help flow and viewer retention though, so it's still a good idea.

The dog likes Vicodin? Isn't paracetamol (acetaminophen) lethal for dogs? Especially small ones, who would need a much smaller dose to be intoxicated.

What happens when you give a dog with the MDR1 gene Vicodin? You don't. Yeah my dog Coldwater extracts his favorite treats..

Graft vs host disease is a pretty lousy way to go.

Hi ! This video was great, as usual :) . I have a recommendation for you : you said you like the episode where House is stuck in a plane with a sick man. And then you asked : what did we do when all the medical technology did not yet exist? There is an episode where House and his team have to deal with this problem : "Frozen" season 4, episode 11.
Could you analyze this one please? Bye and thank you for your videos, it's really great and entertaining.
(I hope I didn't make any english mistakes, I'm watching you from France)

      Hi Fantine,
Thank you for the kind words and great suggestion!
I will definitely analyse the Frozen episode - hopefully that will be released within the next 1 month. Really appreciate your ongoing support :)

Wouldn’t giving someone bone marrow that isn’t a full match kill the recipient as the body would attack the marrow?

You can take meds for that

@@GamerGrovyle yes but I have heard of people who have died. Giving stuff isn’t a 100% cure from what Iv heard.
