- The CH-53E Super Stallion stands as a true icon in the realm of military aviation. As one of the United States' most prominent heavy-lift helicopters, it has played a pivotal role in various operations, from combat missions to humanitarian relief efforts. With its remarkable capabilities, the CH-53E Super Stallion has earned its place as a cornerstone of the U.S. Marine Corps' rotorcraft fleet. In this article, we will explore the features, history, and significance of this impressive aerial workhorse.
The CH-53E Super Stallion is a product of Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, renowned for its expertise in helicopter manufacturing. Development of the Super Stallion began in the 1970s to fulfill the U.S. Marine Corps' need for an advanced heavy-lift helicopter. Building upon the successful CH-53 Sea Stallion platform, Sikorsky introduced significant enhancements to create a more powerful and capable aircraft.
While the CH-53E Super Stallion has served the U.S. Marine Corps diligently for decades, plans are underway to replace it with the next-generation CH-53K King Stallion. The CH-53K, currently in the testing and evaluation phase, will offer enhanced capabilities, increased lifting capacity, and improved performance. As the CH-53E gradually phases out, the CH-53K will assume the mantle of the Marine Corps' primary heavy-lift helicopter, taking the legacy of the Super Stallion to new heights.

I’ll always remember Blackout & Grindor
4500x
Best display
Of lift power.
What a beast
I used to always get the CH-53 & CH-46 mixed up when I was a boot. I mean I knew the difference but got the nomenclatures mixed up when finally a sgt told me “if it’s got 2 rotors it’s a 46, if it’s got 1 then it’s a 53”!! From that moment on I never got them confused again. Now that was when the Osprey had just came out but u couldn’t mix that big bastard up with anything lol
🙏 Thank You So Much CH53E Super Stallion for your Service to the Nation! 🌷🌿🌎💜🕊
Destro tray cartekes de 🇲🇽 Mexico helicopter os cuenta arsenal ........
I had the opportunity to visit a Marine Squadron with my Veterans Club and was totally impressed how large this machine is! Plus the outstanding presentation and hard work every crew member did to show how well these huge helicopters are mission ready!
Ooofff! America 🇺🇸 putting out some beasts still..
When I first started with the Marines we were flying around in the CH-53D's Sea Stallions then in like 77 or 78 we got the newer CH-53E Super Stallions on Camp Pendleton
I'm not a soldier, but I was introduced to the amazing world of military vehicles and aircraft as a teenager. I've loved the MH-53 pave low since I was a kid, following the release of the 2007 transformers film. It wasn't until a few days ago that I realized that blackout wasn't even an MH -53, but a CH-53E. My faith in the reliability of transformers toys being accurate has been shaken badly. It's not just military toys that I've grown to love, I've been helping my dad restore my great grandfather's WW2 trailer, and it's given me some quality bonding time with my dad.
Edit: grindor is the ch-53e, and blackout is actually a mh-53
4:03 what a cool seat when people are not shooting at you
I wonder if Sikorsky will port some of the Defiant and Raider design into whatever replaces this beast.
Gulf War Veteran here. A funny story. A group of Iraqi soldiers surrendered to a CH-53E in Kuwait because they thought the refueling nozzle was a huge gun. When they saw this huge Helo with the big gun they just gave up. LOL! Flew on this beauty, the Ch-46 and the Huey during my time in the Corps. CH-53E was my favorite. Exit to the left!
When I arrived in England and my unit, the 67th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron, my first impression of the HH-53Cs we had, giant bugs, looking at them from the front. I had a lot of time working on them, until they removed my nav system. Flew a few refueling missions, the first made me nervous getting that close to the HC-130 refueling aircraft. Went all over Europe in them as maintenance support on overnight flights.
I worked on a navy base a few years ago and had a roommate that was the crew chief for the cargo bay on a CH-53E (don't remember the technical title but he was an E-5 so not a "Chief"), my office building on base was a hanger bay in it's previous life so I worked right next to him. I got a text one day asking if I was doing anything. I got to go on a test flight and that was cool as can be. The Sea Dragon does sonar ops and various other things that were similar to what I worked on. I was all in on a job offer until I heard that my roommate had been in 3 crashes in the 4 years he was in.
I got out a few months later due to PTSD
I got spooked off a heli career when a double fatality took the lives of a well liked and respected instructor and a new student at the flight school I went to. R-22s can be unforgiving. I've always been a bit of a numbers guy and I partly concluded it might be beyond my risk tolerance. Plus the career path can be somewhat arduous and not necessarily as highly paid as pilots should be. Considering the skillsets and functional physiological excellence that good pilots possess.
It's a demanding high complexity high load type of occupation, physically, mentally, and emotionally. It can also be crazy fun and satisfying as a career. I wouldn't want to dissuade anyone from diving into the career. Especially all you passionate aviation people who are positively fascinated and excited about flight. I get to airshows now and then and might revisit flying again and get current on my certs.
This vid is awesome btw, US Military Content Creators! The big Sik and it's different mission capable techno bristling raptor cousin are amazing accomplishments despite a few warts and some teething pains. 👍
You peeps got me feeling super patriotic right about now!
Thank you. 😀
What an awesome experience that must have been! I used to plan a day based around finding and photographing Sea Stallions flying minesweeping training ops on the SF Bay. I'm jelly! 😉

My favorite helicopter!!
How does this chopper compare against the Chinook in lifting capabilities?
your channel is Awesome. Great super stallions. Are they (US military) still using Huey's? my best friend a Warrant Officer was in the 173rd Assault Helicopter Company - "Robin Hoods, Crossbows" one of those hueys is in the Smithsonian.
Yes we work on UH1s they are still in use but the CH60s took a lot of the Huey’s roles
@@steventwiddy3402 thanks
CH53D Flight Line Mech, the E was the biggest now it’s the Kilo version.
Beautiful Upload friend. keep it up. Thank you for sharing this to us. Greetings from Korea
Realy I like this powerful helicoptere
You marine tu helicopter..... Carteles ...... you frends 🇲🇽 Mexico ....
❤🤍💙 all your videos mate👍
I remember them training every weekend by the beach on base at Camp Lejeune..It was a site to see that big boy...1997...Great memories
I wish the Marine Corps had the weapons, tools and helicopters in Vietnam that are now available to todays Marines.
That one looks like the one from Transformers.
It's blackout/grindor.
@@t.ot.o7571 isn’t blackout’s helicopter form a little different from grindor’s?!
@@aaronmiller5012 yes but the CGI models are nearly identical for both.
What a beast.
Absolutely... WOW. Looks amazing.I wish all the best from 🇵🇱🕊️🤝
That was a cool video😊
What a monster….amazing! 😊
Is that the new longbow fire control radar I have been hearing about?
And how much does he lift?
I think it would be cool to get a drone chinook like that I was gona try putting 6 guns on it and rockets like a Apache probably I want a claw on it though
That’s blackout from decepticon transformers
If I'm correct, blackout was a sea stallion. Grindor is a super stallion.
@@t.ot.o7571Blackout is mh-53 pave low
@@usernameladiesman217-xb4hl I’ve seen transformers and that mh 53 that blackout used has some differences to Grindor’s Ch-53.
@@aaronmiller5012 that's what I said
@@usernameladiesman217-xb4hl I know but just making sure not to confuse the two vehicles.
I always though that the biggest and heaviest US chopper was the Chinook😮
The UH 47 is about the same size as the marine UH 46 which was replaced with the V22 osprey
Chinook coughs in back of room.
Sweet helicopter though!
Innovations are to be appreciated, adopted and respected.😅
I hate to break it to you, but the CH-53K King Stallion is the largest helicopter in the US military
CH-53K King Stallion is the newest and heaviest version.
I think the super stallion when fully replaced by the king stallion can still be used elsewhere like a helicopter tanker for wildfires. Maybe CAL FIRE or other fire departments can use them if interested!
Very excellent ... let' Korea buy these king stallion 20s ! ㅋ
More like Super Beast😅
So when the super stallion is replaced by the king stallion, will they be scrapped, displayed? Or maybe they can be sold to fire departments for wildland fire air operations!
Some will find their ways to displays and some to the bone yard, however it left its mark on history now, and succeeded by its modern King stallion
Deltas were just retired in 2011, echos aren't going anywhere for awhile
Make a video about the F35 upgrade please
Kinda looks like that helicopter in transformers!
CH-53 IS IN PRODUCTION... K model!
That’s a decepticon
Big is synonymous with clumsy. This is the biggest Stallion, for the worse with only one rotor. And the tail rotor makes it vulnerable to a simple attack rifle. Definitely doomed to operate in the rear lines, justo like they "fantastic" Osprey.
Blackout transformers
I heard it was named after Megan the stallion lol
Let the stallion run let this bees have the some fun let her be free controller very easily but a letter sore in the air and run run run Little pull my heard about wild horses and she's a wild one let her fly give her all that power see what you can do Sergeant J out.
But what does this have to do with Megan
Blackout/Grindor
🌹🌹🌹
blackout,best decepticon
Actually it's Grindor🤓🤓 (still believe, what it's the same character tho)
👍
Ghost !!!
What happend to your "MADE IN INDIA" ? You buy this and change the "Made in USA" label.
India buying 5 ch53 helicopter
Is that true?!
80's "E's" were scary, not good (tail/xmsn's). We had 2 in our mullti-squadron and only 1 flew once in a year. I hope they got better. There's only 3 reasons helo's crash...idiot pilots/maintenance/engineering. I flew in H1/H3/H46's, only lost 2 of my buds...H46's in one year. It was the leadership on down. Your commands suck! Don't get it?, then you are the problem! Math much?.
Except the Mi-26 can lift 44,000 lbs.. While the CH-53E can only lift 36,000 lbs... So people can, and do, lift more.
ปีกฮ.มันไม่ได้ตั้งฉากกับพื้นโลกหมุนเร็วแค่ไหนมันก็ไม่ระเบิด
