Anyone who has seen us perform live will know that Lost Words author and artist Jackie Morris speaks spells and paints live on stage with the band, enthralling us as she conjures otters and foxes with sumi ink and watercolour.
Painted during our Sage Gateshead performance in June 2022, featuring a baby otter born out of an unexpected flow of ink, this stunning Jackie Morris work and piece of Spell Songs history was auctioned with all proceeds generously donated by Jackie to the Gatwick Detainees Welfare Fund.
While the original artwork has supported this vital work with refugees, we are thrilled that we are now able to offer prints signed by Jackie, on textured paper with the look and feel of the original, in our 'Lost Words Emporium':

The Spell Songs ensemble features the multifaceted talents and collaborative genius of Karine Polwart, Julie Fowlis, Seckou Keita, Kris Drever, Rachel Newton, Beth Porter and Jim Molyneux - all renowned musicians in their own right. Together, their music blends a diverse array of sounds from instruments like the kora, electroharp, cello, Indian harmonium and more, which are gorgeously layered with musical and linguistic influences spanning from Orkney to Senegal.
