Instead of going for the actual gem, she went for somewhere close to that, and when pink got “shattered” (poofed), the gem in her holographic body came out and since it looked like her gem, they thought she was shattered. I mean, since the gems are so advanced they could’ve just tested if the gem was really hers or not but that’s cartoon logic-
