According to the music it seems as if you were going to conquer your neighbour countries. Glad you only made an epoxy table. I like it because it is different. Greetings from Germany
Beautiful! You’re my hero! I have a tree stump in my living room that I’m using as a plant stand. I was just wondering how I could apply epoxy resin to it and found this awesome video. Thank you for sharing.
Very beautiful good job buddy!! You learned what to do and not to do now. Hot glue, semi hard plastic, saran wrap and frog tape and package tape would have made it much easier for you but first time doing it and you did good.
Truly a beautiful work of art! 🙏 Now I know what to do with all the old pieces/stumps/branches of old cottonwood, Apple, and pear wood I have laying around! So would you recommend deep pour epoxy/resin for this type of work? And where did you get the legs very contemporary!
Fantastic art work! Could you pls. provide a list for all the different materials ? Which kind of proxy? Base material and so on? Would be highly appreciated. Txs so much for sharing your video with us
After the cracks are filled? Maybe a paint brush? I put finish on the sides.

Hi, nice work firstly, I did never work with epoxy jet but I'm trying to find some finish method for my spiral trunk stairs which I'm planning to assemble. I have a question about the epoxy, didn't it started cracking after time? You worked with a pretty dry wood I see but anyway.
The log that I used has been drying for a few years, it does move a little but not enough to crack or pop the epoxy, I think generally the wood should be around 7-11 percent moisture.
Did you find that the resin soaked into the wood at all? I have a large log…. 10” diameter and 5’ long that I want to stabilize with epoxy before cutting it into planking…. It is a log that was cut somewhere between 1860 and 1880 and is stamped on the end from the living era here in michigan.
Did you keep putting coats of epoxy on the top on at 5 min 41 seconds before you sanded it with different grit sandpaper ? ( 3 -4 coats of epoxy and 3-4 sandinga after each coat ? Also wouod yacht varnish work well for the sides without a stain ?
Approximately how many hours of work was it? Also I’m considering using the epodex product bc it looks like a very high quality material that may require less polishing. Any tips or ideas to reduce time in the finishing department?
I am doing my first log for fun, and I have started to debark and sand the outside. I have a crack similar to yours. I don't have years I guess to wait for the log to dry! Do you reckon it will still be fine to epoxy the crack? What are the ramifications? Thanks!
Hello Kametra, I used a router on the bottom of the log to flatten it out. I used a 6 inch festool palm sander, starting with a more aggressive grit (80) and going up to 5k grit with water to make it clear.
Beautiful, but the music drowned out anything you would say about the materials used. Your not the only one that has music too loud, preview the video ,please ,so we can learn from the video.
@@traytonwuollet1776 Well thanks for the reply! As a total "noob" in resin work I need all the help I can hear! At present I am in the still carving stages of a chair from a New Mexico Black Walnut stump log, with many faults so what you are doing seems right in line. Thanks again.

Beautiful work ... ❤️ Thank you for sharing
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
That's amazing what is everything you used to do that
Thanks for sharing. Any tips on how to properly dry a log, and how long to dry it for?
If it’s air drying they recommend 1 year for every 12 inches. Preferably in a climate controlled area.
Dude That music is so annoying when all I wanted to hear was some explanation along the way... it’s beautiful tho.
My bad what do you need to know
I stopped watching. That music.
Me too.
Music is annoying
DUDE that was badass
Thank you!
Beautiful- what was the brown tape you used in the end ?
Beautiful, keep safe and may God bless you always, i do diy and recycling, friend from Philippines

So would you recommend deep pour epoxy/resin for this type of work? And where did you get the legs very contemporary!
Thank you very much! There is plenty of stuff just laying around! I would recommend a deep pour epoxy yes.
The legs I bought from rockler
@@traytonwuollet1776 rockler? Is that online?
@Lazio yes they have a website and you should be able to order some hairpin legs they come in a few different lengths
@@traytonwuollet1776 thanks👍
Your welcome!
thats cool,i have sone nice pcs of wood, gonna take them to a mill and get them level use liqued glass and metalic blue, wish me luck

Fantastic art work!

On this one I used a generic deep pour epoxy from Home Depot, the log is maple festool and dewalt palm sander, hairpin legs from eBay. Any thing else?
Thanks for showing technique but not a fan f the blue. Can it be done with a different colour?
Absolutely, just order a different powder color!
How would you epoxy the sides? The same method with paper wrap and duct tape?
After the cracks are filled? Maybe a paint brush? I put finish on the sides.

what kind of tape did you use?
Cool man where do you get the fine grits of paper
I bought from a car pats store that is used for autobody.
Yes 🙌🏼 ikio
Will this hold up for outside year round exposure like on the porch?
That’s a good question, I’m not sure with the epoxy, but I know the finish won’t hold up.
@@traytonwuollet1776 thanku I found a video that uses marine varnish finish on top of penetrating epoxy all by TotalBoat 😉
What would you value this at?
It's very nice work!
Thank you! I’m guessing around $300 probably
Masyaallah, Good Job brother👍
Nice to meet you brother, From Java Indonesia
Thank you!
What brand of epoxy did you use?
Beautiful table
It was a deep pour epoxy from Home Depot I don’t know the brand anymore
What was the shiny stuff you put on top right after the epoxy
It was floor finish
What’s the clear stuff you used to make it preserve n shiny
It’s an oil based finish
@@traytonwuollet1776 do you know the name I would like to try to do this
Bona Woodline satin
Nice work sir.... I plan to make 3 the same! But lordy, so many choices of epoxy, what brand did you use please?
@Craig Elder sorry for the late reply, I used the epoxy that Home Depot sells
@@traytonwuollet1776 Aint got a brand name have you chief? I'm in the UK and we don't have Home Depot here!
@Craig Elder wisebond deep pour

Is it just spring water that you are using when wet sanding around the 7 minute mark?
Bottled water
@@traytonwuollet1776 Many thanks - have referred back to this video almost two dozen times while carrying out the project myself. Much apppreciated!
Sweet.
Thank you!
Awesome! My tape isnt sticking to the wood :/

I thing that would work, I just stained it for the color
Hello I was wondering what kind of stuff you bought like the list because I’m thinking of starting a small business and doing this
As far as tools or what are you thinking?
@@traytonwuollet1776 like the epoxy stuff
@@traytonwuollet1776 like the resin used to mic
I used the generic Home Depot deep pour epoxy called wise bond
@@traytonwuollet1776 ok sweet thanks!
What type of color powder did you use in epoxy?
It’s been a long time, I know it’s EcoPoxy colors are probably Caribbean and Maui
Kickass
Thanks man!
Fantastic ❤️👍,Which epoxy did you used and which tools you used to make this??
Thank you! I used wisebond deep pour. Tools I used a router, and two different types of palm sanders.
What are you mixing in colour?
amazing👍
Thank you!
Approximately how many hours of work was it?
Also I’m considering using the epodex product bc it looks like a very high quality material that may require less polishing. Any tips or ideas to reduce time in the finishing department?
Being my first time it took me 3-5 days
As far as time goes, just being more knowledgeable on the full procedure would make things go faster
What kind of sealer did you use
Bona Dry-fast sealer
@@traytonwuollet1776 what did you use the Lamar seal for? I saw the can in the video. Was that the finish?
Yes my bad Lenmar is the sealer that I used on this one, I’ve used both
I have a piece that I plan to do about the same size. How long did this take you to complete?
Also; do you know how much epoxy you used on this?
I took me about a week, I used less than a gallon
Nice. But easy on the background music…is this a DIY video or game or thrones ??
Awesome job! Can I ask what epoxy you used? Thanks!
I used what ever Home Depot has, it should be a deep pour epoxy.
what did you use to coat the sides?
@Wei-Li Heng I used the an oil based sealer then a few coats of bona woodline oil based finish.
I am doing my first log for fun, and I have started to debark and sand the outside. I have a crack similar to yours. I don't have years I guess to wait for the log to dry!
Do you reckon it will still be fine to epoxy the crack? What are the ramifications?
Thanks!
The epoxy had some flexibility and as long as the moisture content stays the same it should be fine.
@@traytonwuollet1776 Oh thanks. My crack became bigger and ended up cracking off:( failed project.
I'd be proud of that!
I am!
And the tools needed??
Hello Kametra, I used a router on the bottom of the log to flatten it out.
I used a 6 inch festool palm sander, starting with a more aggressive grit (80) and going up to 5k grit with water to make it clear.
May I ask how long it took for the first pour to dry? And are you using countertop or deep pour epoxy?
Only like a day or two. I let it sit for a while to cure before I started sanding it
What did you polish it with
The top? I put gloss finish on everything
What tape did you use for the sides?
The yellow tape didn’t work, I used ducktape
Great table but why the overbearing loud music over the instructions?
Top show 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Thank you!
Beautiful, but the music drowned out anything you would say about the materials used. Your not the only one that has music too loud, preview the video ,please ,so we can learn from the video.
Yes, I agree.
Lose the music😬
Will do, thank you for the input 👍🏽
Great work but next time zero need for any music.
Roger that
The music killed your audio though..hard to hear you. Nice results though
Thanks, sorry about that.
Sanding epoxy is the worst, it’s so gummy
I agree! I don’t really know a good way to do it.
Dial the music back down from 11

Yes I do agree
So did you use clear epoxy without the dye any parts that didnt have cracks ?
I used the the colored epoxy on all the cracks, and clear on the top, it hasn’t cracked.
Yes, that is correct. Dye in the cracks clear on top.
