I've been watching squash a LONG time, since the Jahangir years, and Asal is one of the greatest talents I've ever seen. Never seen a guy that size move with that kind of agility and explosiveness. I also want to congratulate him for turning over a new leaf when it comes to sportsmanship and fairness. I truly believe in giving people a second (or even third) chance to correct their ways and he seems to have done so. Bravo Mostafa (and James Willstrop).

I am of the same opinion. Back in my playing days, I used to think there could never be a better player than Geoff Hunt - but that was also a LONG time ago. Think we could both guess what the score would be between Geoff and Asal if they could have played in today's arena.

If Asal's body holds, I can see him at the top of this sport for the next decade or so. He may even contend for a spot on the best players ever list. He needs to take care of his body and perhaps lose some weight to lessen the load on his joints.

I’m so glad that Asal’s etiquette and sportsmanship has matured to meet his incredible squash. I always knew he had it in him. Some players veil their blocking-but Asal’s movement has none of that. I believe we can also see Ramy Ashour’s indelible attacking influence upon both these players and the modern game in general. Is there anything else for Asal to work on? Enjoy youth and a very special squash talent- but start to explore many different movement paradigms and yoga in order to drift away on the reliance upon youthful speed and lack of orthopedic limits-because age eventually visits everyone. It’s a shame that Ashour’s career was cut relatively short (by injury) in comparison to Mohamed El Shorbagy. What did El Shorbagy learn from Hadrian Stiff for example would be a good place to start. Put in some work under Gaultier as well.

@@mortazbeyyyGohah's playing style relies heavily on aggressive and physically demanding tactics, with little variation. Her game is characterized by powerful hitting and minimal finesse, lacking "soft hands." This approach often leads to repetitive gameplay. Additionally, her emotional and aggressive on-court behavior causes confusion and public disapproval.
In contrast, Asal also boasts impressive strength, but with more varied shots, including nick shots and "soft hands." His unique movement, adapted to his physical build, requires exceptional strength. However, his on-court behavior has historically been problematic, exploiting physical contact to gain advantage, resulting in suspensions and criticism. Collaboration with James Willstrop appears to have improved his conduct, as seen in the final.
