Re clothing care I am recently obsessed with Soak detergent for hand washing delicate things. It's so so pleasant to use and saves me a lot of trips to the dry cleaner for items that I don't want to machine wash!
i had a fever and fever dreams. and i dreamt of you. we went to the ysl museum in paris and looked at archive haute couture stuff and afterwards we went to fondation louis vuitton to look at mark rothko
this episode was one of my favorites so far i‘m so happy that you have this podcast! i love to hear your opinions and i am very excited for the next episodes! 🖤🖤🖤
Love the sort of rapid-fire topic format of this! When it comes to the Taylor Swift point, I agree with how she isn't really a fashion girl and has never really had a moment. I'm a long-time music fan, but I'm not a big fan of her as a whole person just because she is a cringe millenial woman. From my perspective, she's always been kind of a socially awkward music geek and clothing has never been an interest of hers. The idea that her lack of taste is strategic in order to stay relatable is just major coping by fans who believe her music "mastermind" persona translates to every aspect of her life. I would say it's just the parasocial stans who really believe in that marketing conspiracy though, it's not a common thought. Not saying it doesn't affect and help her all-american girl image, it does, but it's just by chance and in no way tactical. On the otherhand, I would like to share with you her T Magazine/NYT photoshoot from 2009 which is just aesthetically outside of her realm. She has gorgeous model-like proportions, and I wish she would take advantage of it with her fashion choices. Overall, when it comes to her art I think she values literary focus/songwriting over creative art direction and lacks both artistic prowess and vision which can be seen in her proximity to the fashion industry.
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the kislux as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
I was listening to this on Spotify BUT the thing with you not seeing fully with sunglasses took me over and hear me out you are the first person that experiences the same feeling as I do like I can not see anything with sunnies although I have so so sensitive eyes. And last weekend I was having an eyeopening experience and it is a Schnelle Brille 🤓 they look so stupid but I was wearing them because I was running and I felt I see very good with them on! They have to be this type of, you see out but no one sees in, glasses 😅 don’t know if this makes sense, and the problem…they do not look good with most outfits 😂
I've never been to the other Dover Street Markets, but I agree that this one doesn't feel very well thought out at that stage, compared to other shops like L'Eclaireur for example
supplement girlies unite! i just wait till i run out of most of them and then order them. i think it's ok for your body to take breaks from supplements. i like to keep my body surprised.
For me if congestion of supplements is making me struggle/stress then it's not for me. I shouldn't struggle to be or feel healthy, mind over matters and like a balanced lifestyle always helps
coming back to this video to say i experienced neidkultur literally the day after watching this. i went to a german bar to watch the europe cup and everyone was mad that some people were standing and the people sitting down couldnt see the tv's. it was a packed bar on a championship day but they dgaf, they kept shouting at the people standing. very uncanny feeling !!! thank u for the cultural education brenda lmao
supplements wise, I just do a multi so I have fewer bottles to coordinate. Plus I try to minimize what I'm taking based on what I need. (Also love Sunday naturals)
on Neidkultur, we have the exact same relationship to 'celebrities' here in Melbourne and most of Australia. We call it Tall Poppy Syndrome. I really can't think of any (who haven't moved abroad to live their best lives) we idolise here except for football players. no one is swarming in the street to get a glimpse of anyone!!
I’ve been wearing “thick round” fw18 Balenciaga sunglasses that I got at Matches (lol) on sale for $140, my friend Nate did the soundtrack to the sunglasses campaign they did later on and idk they’re a daily driver item of mine and are sentimental at this point.
@@brendahashtag the only other “new” thing I bought that entire year was a pair of Black Arizona Pony Rickenstocks from Luisaviaroma and those were $235 on sale, I think the markdowns of yesteryear are long gone and the cuts we’ll see on the sale racks will not be as deep.
@@fashion.drinks.podcast yes but i think there is a gigantic difference between influencer and celeb (i say that with zero shade as an influencer myself)
taylor doesnt want to be fine, she's greedy. she wants to be number one in all the markets everywhere. the same reason she puts out a million versions of the same album. i think she comes from a banker family and genuinely enjoys controlling the market lmao
the carefulness when talking about taylor hahahahaha
SCARY!!!!!!!
the sunglasses thing is so real i can only wear very specific glasses and i wait until the sun is blinding me

Brilliant episode!!
yay thank you so much for being here
I was at your closet sale and saw a Vintage distressed sweater by celine and my question was if there is any Chance it is still avilable
Yes, I agree with the Taylor Swift strategy - I see a loss of relatability as one of the main drivers of the Kardashian's waning fame

about german celebrities- I always thought Leonie Hanne is like the biggest mainstream german fashion girl? But she also moved to London so idk 😂

Oh I feel the same with sunglasses when talking to someone🫂 But I recently got a lighter pair with clear frames, they feel less like physical obstacle
