As a fan of Zero 7, i've just discovered Goldfrapps album 'Seventh Tree'. If this is not already in your life, make it happen. i'm a lover of most genre's, in particular linkin Park, Queen and Depeche Mode, but this album would have to be in my top 5 albums. Not a single song that doesn't have some sort of hook in it, her voice reaches exquisite levels on some of them. Just wow.
Little-known fact, it's not whistling. They took an old keyboard with a CV input. It's what expensive synths in the 70s and 80s used, a voltage controls the note, so you could connect different synths to each other, or to effects units. Anyway Goldfrapp plugged a microphone into it. So this is Alison singing directly into the input of a keyboard. It's amazing cos unless you knew, you'd never guess that's what it was.
The song that got me into Goldfrapp and one I will always associate with Monkey Dust. A criminally underrated and little known show. The best thing the BBC did this side of the Millennium.
Perfect for a James Bond movie! Apart from that, no music "transfert" me more than this a weird and creepy feeling of cold! A glacial cold, dizzying heights, impervious mountains ... and cold, so cold!
It starts in my belly, then up to my heart Into my mouth, I can't keep it shut Do you recognize the smell? Is that how you tell us apart? I fool myself to sleep and dream Nobody's here no one but me So cool, you're hardly there Why can't this be killing you? Frankenstein would want your mind Your lovely head, your lovely head Your lovely head
Only just found out who this is , I love it , its beautiful. I first heard it on an advert with Gary oldman and then heard it in a record store wen I was with my mum at the age of 14. I remember saying i love this song ! My mother said to me no no it's not you . 32 now and I have just found out who the artist is. I can be me and now I'm free to be so .
I totally get that - like the video consists of footage from the happier times of a prominent 1960s model/socialite, before her descent into clinical insanity...
The ultimate Bond theme that never was - sublime but never realised ...
You're right 👍
The whole album is like a spy movie soundtrack.
I thought the same thing!!!!
This is the music you hear in your dreams, but fades away when you wake...
Rich Ard That's a fantastic way to describe it.
Maybe is make in heaven😌
That's it exactly.
I agree with you. Sono daccordo con te
Yes, I feel exactly the same, but my dream fades when I see the bottles of wine that I have to put in the trash
Bond..Bond....Bond.....Everyday of the week all day long...And twice on a Sunday......Yes.....
Finding this after 20 years
One of my favorite songs...it's so hauntingly, beautiful!
You bet
Love it. Thanks GP

Brividi😍
This reminds me of something you might hear in a David Lynch movie.
Weird, eerie, off world-ish,strange, and yet still so sensuous and beautiful.
I can't get enough of it, it's simply mesmerizing.
Ciprian Hanga 2030
60's italian soft tempo/Lounge. Reminds me Edda Dell'orso.
Alison's voice is always haunting and mesmerizing at the same time. And her whistle is so cool.
Little-known fact, it's not whistling. They took an old keyboard with a CV input. @@greenaum what?, are you referring to the whistling in the intro?.
Yeah... I think the whistling is some clever use of a vocoder.
would have made for the best Bond theme ever, imo
I was thinking the same damn thing!
absolutely! thought about it instantly and still hope it will be recognized (and picked up) by the right Bond film
Mr Bond, I’ve been expecting you......
For a similar sound, check the group MONO. Album name is LIFE IN MONO
That whistling is really Tarantinian as well
The song that got me into Goldfrapp and one I will always associate with Monkey Dust. A criminally underrated and little known show. The best thing the BBC did this side of the Millennium.
Indeed. perfection in its darkness.
just about to rewatch it, used to watch it with my pal back in the day
where've you been Clive????
Still available on dvd
One of the greatest things on TV in the last 20 years. Nothing else really compares to its brutality and honesty!
Addictive, soooo beautiful I can’t stop
One of my favorite songs and Amber Valetta looks stunning !
Perfect for a James Bond movie! Apart from that, no music "transfert" me more than this a weird and creepy feeling of cold! A glacial cold, dizzying heights, impervious mountains ... and cold, so cold!
The gloriously moody and darkly cinematic Goldfrapp at their best! Joy!
Love the 60's style chanteuse vibe, Could almost see this song in an opening James Bond sequence for sure Total coolness!
Pat B future james bond
What a fucking great song. That's all I can say. So ethereal...
This song has plagued me for years and years. Thanks to the stranger on Reddit for solving my decade+ mystery.
More than fantastic 😻
I just found her based on a comment made on another thread, came to hear the thermin and now am staying for Allison. Great song!
It starts in my belly, then up to my heart
Into my mouth, I can't keep it shut
Do you recognize the smell?
Is that how you tell us apart?
I fool myself to sleep and dream
Nobody's here no one but me
So cool, you're hardly there
Why can't this be killing you?
Frankenstein would want your mind
Your lovely head, your lovely head
Your lovely head
Still beautiful after all these years. Thank you Signone Neroo
I do know that I love Goldfrapp and her music.... this song goes with my lovely head..
It's like the melody knows a dark and painful secret, like she wants to tell us but can't
It's a secret if u were told u would then not like this song or her...

Fantasticamente Fantastico
What a wonderful song in a wonderful movie (My summer of love)!
My Summer of Love!
A elevação do orgasmo criava vertigens
AMBER ...SO ETHEREAL...SO STUNING
What an amazing song. x
spooky and soothing at the same time - love it
Was watching an old episode of Top Gear back in the late 2000s, and came across this song. That led me to discover the wonder that is Goldfrapp.
It will always remind me of that bmw 5 series from 2000/2001 "Nobody is perfect".
Just heard Radio 3's This classical life, this was one of Alex Baranowski's chosen tracks. Thank you.
Kind of a James Bond X Fifth Element vibe. And I would pay good money to see that movie if it existed. :D
Dan R I'm a year too late lol... watch Immortal Ad Vitam by Enki Bilal
May be the best song of the story of humanity
Man, Felt Mountain, what a rush.
I know!
Looks like a perfume ad, and then, "Hey, that's Amber Valletta!" I loved her in Hitch.
Where have you been, Clive?
Just discovered this. Brilliant!!
Exceptional Track - timeless.
love the lyrics and this music vid, the model, she's so beautiful,
Disturbingly Beautiful! Merci...
Made me feel less than real but more than perfect.
A post holiday mood song for the ages.
Stupenda canzona e stupendo video..
"swept away" got me here❤️
I discovered this great piece from the BMW E39 commercial.
Ethereal song and commercial too.
fantastica , spot bmw serie tre ( nothing is a perfect)
Era la serie 5 E39
I love this song & Alison.
You star! It's been driving me nuts for weeks! THANK YOU so much :)
che incanto di donna.

tutto è bello. congratulazione. A
Eh mio caro Marco bel quella tua bellissima BMW serie uno
Clive's favourite song
Bravo, bellissimo!
Congratulazioni!
Una cosa come questa
è rara! Saluti di Brasile.A
"What is often mistaken for a theremin synth in the song is, in fact, Alison's vocals piped through a Korg MS-20 which modulates and distorts them"
Wonderful band, the music on this CD reminds me of some of Ennio Moricone's compositions
Exactly, movie score of the 69s
"99 francs", best film about publicity, thanks Jean Dujardin, R.I.P. Josselin Quivrin.
Sublime...
Track Marvelous Clip Mhe Frame Terrible. Vade Retro! 😂😂😂
they are great! love from Colombia!
Beautiful song xx xx xx just beautiful xxx
This is the best Bond theme that isn't actually a Bond theme.
Sounds like Bond song, love Goldfrapp.
It's a must,pity it won't happen.:(
Would love to see someone make a vid with Bond clips to this song.
i agree she is james bond theme music perfect
Magnifique 😻❤️
I love that MS20 lead. It almost sounds like a Theremin, but not quite.
Apparently it's her singing being processed by an ms20. It's fantastic.
Yeah. I've since bought an MS20 mini and tried it myself. I haven't quite gotten it sound exactly the same, but it's so cool!
I always think it sounds like Jeff Beck's guitar playing...
Conor Houston (Official) Jeff Beck used a talk box to get that effect.
Wow - all these years and I swore it was a "Lead Theremin" - as a guitar player I marveled, but this is even BETTER!
This tune reminds me of a dream i had about Katherine De nerve, bliss in a word.
Bella, bella, bella, bella
Grazie sorellina dolcissimaaaaa! Bacino!!.. Fabio :)))
One of the best pop songs ever...
Mazeppa1000 MTV take notice!

So good
“And that, darling, is what really happened”
Uma Thurman Kill Bill vibe.. love it. also reminds me of coked out rich depressed white girl music lol
I totally get that - like the video consists of footage from the happier times of a prominent 1960s model/socialite, before her descent into clinical insanity...
isso é lindo demais...........................................................................................................
Simply Fantastic, Bravo... ;-)
Great!
Canzone e video stupendi.
Felt Mountain is the very best of all their albums
The most weirdest yet beautiful song .. I remember it on the old ONE TO ONE phone advert. Prefer her older music. Brilliant😊
итить..
