I suppose, following the death of Abe Sensei, he was seen as the best fit to please the European & other branches of JSKA, plus help develop JSKA within Japan. Also his son, being a top JKS instructor at hombu, might be seen as a possible / probable replacement down the track. I wish JSKA all the luck in the world.
I had the experience of training at Takushoku Diagaku for ten weeks in '72 and then again in '75 for almost four years. Unfortunately,at the time Gaigins recieved the most brutal treatment. Regarding your comment...This a magnificent performance of Sochin Kata...not matter if you are member of ABCE KA or ARSZ HOLE KA,Bill. I wish you all the luck in the world...and wonder if you would survive one training session at Taku ???
An Interesting kata, it's a mix of Soshin and Gojuushiho dai in shotokan karate style.

Was Nakayama Sensei still making guest appearances at the University Dojo when you trained there?
