@@MrGreektrooper His drumming with everyone is arguably a joke. He's not a very talented guy. I once told him that. I specifically told him that At The Gates and The Haunted should replace him with Ken Bedene from Aborted, because Ken is like a million times better. He reply'd "Ken wasn't available". I'll give him that, he didn't seem to take it personally.
Yesss! I'm only hearing this now. FDU-DUU is such a fantastic PL album. It's my favourite doom metal album that doesn't feature death vocals on it (even above the mighty "Nightfall" by Candlemass, etc.). But a death version would be disgustingly perfect.
Oh shit, a death/doom version of Rise of Denial! PL need to be playing more FDU-DUU songs live in general but adding death to it is just glorious!! Fantastic!!!
As a bassist myself I don't need to feel scared of a lot of people listening or watching, because we are invisible, we are like eyebrows, they are there, but you do not notice them. All you are looking at is the cool singer and the cheeky drummer and guitarist. Only when I or this guy in the song AS I die is only then really noticed. I really like his fingerpicking and tapping. Feels like the 90´s punk or rock.
01:34 Is he just moving his lips to a pre-recorded vocal track during that part ? Or do they boost his clean vocals like crazy ? Seems like his clean singing is way louder than his growls.
I love Paradise Lost and love Holmes but.. as I know his skills... it sounds totally pre-recorded. Nick has never been good singing clean voices live. Sorry to say this. Edit: listen 5.10
Necrohaven Records Sounds like he's singing over a vocal backing track. I've heard it on tracks like Grey and Say Just Words. Don't think he lip syncs, because you can hear his vocal cracks over the backing tracks sometimes. Edit: actually it seems more like he's using a pedal to give his vocals that reverb effect, when he sets it up at the beginning he says something along the lines "gotta set up this shit pedal". So no pre-recorded lines except for the chorus, where he still seems to sing.
Kinda get your point bout the content that is expected cause of the name, though I'm glad that this festival does not narrow itself down to acts like Cattle Decapitation or those grindcore bands, whose names I don't even bother to memorize.
00:00 The Longest Winter
04:15 The Rise of Denial
09:00 As I Die
NEStalGeek thanks bud!
Interesting how he sung Rise in growls and As I Die in cleans! I'd love to hear As I Die growled sometimes too.
It's awesome to see how much this band improved with this drummer.
Waltteri Väyrynen , only 25 years old!
At least one level up! No disrespect for Erlandsson but his drumming with PL was a joke.
@@MrGreektrooper I agree

aaaaaand he's gone to Opeth. PL don't have a lot of luck with their drummers.
Nick's live perforance gets better and better...well done!!!!
Dreaming with the full set recording 🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏
Just brilliant, decades of unique music! True fan of yours!
The lead player & Drummer is awesome...
A package in total Band🤘
Love this version of the Rise of Denial!!

AMOOOOO As I Die !!!
Great sound!
Nick Holmes is such a badass vocalist. I mean, he sings it all alone, even the higher tones
Happy B Nick 🇨🇱🔥🍺🤘🏼🎂
Estan envejeciendo pero es como el vino entre mas pasa el tiempo mejor el sabor pero esta vez seria su sonido
Byl jsem tam a byl jsem kurvaže rád!
Wish rise of denial sounded like this on the album.
I feel you. Personally I've always belived that the material had the potential but some arrangement/production aspects were a lil bit "weak".
The best version of The Rise of Denial
Is the whole show available on DVD anywhere?
Classic doom!
this is gothic doom, Weird Light is classic doom you know?
Paradise lost goes to Hair Lost

Sounds like a heavy reverb which makes it seem louder, also his grunting isn't super loud so I think that's where the volume jump comes from.

Its totally pre-recorded, unfortunately

yeah he has always sucked live, they should just do some creative live versions of these songs not shit like this
This is how this music should be be played. Not in daylight
Cool.

I feel like he screwed up The Rise Od Denial too.
poseur metal pop
metal pop? lool
A band who create a whole genre can’t be poseur ;)
maybe back in 1999 lol
This isn't Metallica
Brutal Assault? Don't smell a whif of any brutality here.
you must be deaf then
No I am not deaf. I just have higher standards. My girlfriend would probably like this though.
Actually no I just played some of it to her. She says it is too lazy and slow. Sorry about that.

Wow its almost like metal festivals have a diverse lineup of bands.
