Playing like this requires the least amount of skill. It achieves little more than the thrill of victory over people who actually want to enjoy the game, and a sadistic pleasure in ruining it for them. Please consider not exploiting massed helos and taking joy in the nuances that require skill.
@@Waldo1122 thank you for offering your perspective. Unfortunately, this claim is obviously false to me. Ask players on the wargame subreddit or the bootcamp discord, where dozens if not hundreds of players play ranked. Helorushes are a no-skill blight on the game, and in the eyes of most people, opener helorushes in 1v1 are tantamount to cheating.
@@trueorb3368 Players on the Subreddit and Discord aren't new. They've been playing for years. They can go ahead and keep playing the game seriously for another 5 years, but myself and my team just can't anymore.
@@Waldo1122 if you are playing against other people who are ok with it, that is of course fine. Play together however you like. But I think we all know that helorushes are not fun for most people and make people want to play the game less, so it harms the community. That's why we dislike it. Anyway, I appreciate the conversation. Have a nice day!
@@Waldo1122 You don't have any actually old videos, but based on what videos you do have I don't think you ever "played it seriously". Also there's a constant (albeit slow) influx of new players, I came from Steel Division so not completely new I suppose. Your complete disregard for anyone else with this line of thinking/justification fits right in with the kind of in game chat you give off. "America was forced to become socialist by China" really made me laugh but I get it's unfortunately just the culture in the game. I wonder when the last time you played a deck without heli spam or rocket arty spam was. I assume by you playing it seriously you actually just mean you applying effort to improve.
how do you defeat such helirush? Buy some cheap plane with sidewinders at the start of the match and send it head first into enemy's part of the map to find what is in his air. If your cheap plane spots helirush, you have to throw you cheap plane at enemy's recon helicopters to leave an entire air group without eyes and simultaneously you gotta start buying SPAAG's for spawn and manpads for buildings around you CV, while retreating with ground units you can't defend against such blob of helicopters. Also don't forget that good cluster and high HE bombers can destroy several helicopters if bombs fall near/under them, it can be quite useful if you know how to do it. Even a huge helirush can be defeated.
In order to defeat a full team heli rush the opposite team would need to be anticipating the heli rush and prepare for it before the timer hits zero, if they attempt to react to it their units will spawn but not be spread out and all be stunned and destroyed at once by the rocket pods. Cheap AA and manpads cannot fight a heli rush. Strong AA such as that challenger marksmen is the weakness to heli rushes.
Did the VDV think this was a Ukraine invasion tutorial
Lmao it was my first thought when I saw these videos of hostomol
Straight my wargame/warno replays without hud
Nah they didn’t have enough helicopters if they did if might have worked
@@ONEIL311 They had a decent amount, but zelensky knew that putin was a heli rushing nub, so he invested all of his points into manpads and AA.

Game is far too old for any old players to take it seriously. Heli spam is the best way to have fun.
