Excellent info, I will also add that if you maintain the coolant the liquid cooled alternator very rare ever has problems. The only "real" issue is the PS pump for the pre-EPS cars, it is however extremely simple to replace. Likewise if you have the unlikely event of an AC compressor failure it is also very easy to access unlike on any other D4 The only other thing I have to say is to add to your details about the chain system, on the D4 the tensioner side of the upper chain drive doesn't use a normal "slider" type tension shoe with a piston pressing aforementioned shoe into the chain. Instead the D4 has the advantage of a sprocket type interface with the chain that is mounted directly to the oil driven tensioner, this reduces both fiction and wear and eliminates the sliding motion.
The alternator and power steering pump fall under the category of ancillaries and because they’re shared with other D4 trims they wouldn’t be W12 specific info. Great general information nonetheless though. Yes, very good point and it should have been included in the video that undoubtably also contributes to the longevity of the timing chains/tensioners and sliding rails for the D4 but doesn’t apply to the Phaeton/Touareg, D2 and D3 or Bentley Conti/Flying Spur 1st and 2nd gen and Bentayga

People dont realize that the W12 is actually a VR6. And people with a little knowledge know that one of the most reliable 6 cylinder engines out there are the VR6 engines.
i had to sell my 2011 A8L with the 4.2 Due to oil leaks. Engine removal and re seals was very expensive. I am done with the V8 4.20 ( engine had only 120,000km)
