    What a wonderful piece! Still sounds fresh and innovative today. 👏👏
    The singer does sing differently to the displayed score in a few parts- just worth noting.

      It was common practice for singers (and players) to add their own personal touches of ornaments, pitch, rhythm and even at times improv to keep the listener's attention and the piece interesting. I don't think they ever did literal repeats.
