I did a double take when I saw it was 1984. I was thinking this was before my time! 😮 I wonder if the electric chair is still in use or if its strictly injection now?

Yes, as of 2024, the electric chair is still used in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
