I too was surprised by the readily available alcohol to purchase & consume on the streets day or night - and the fact the you leave your empty bottle or can next to a post or bin on the footpath for Pfand collectors to pick them up and take them to the bottle banks for refund. We actually got 'reminded' by a friendly German NOT to put our empties in the bin, which was difficult to accept at first. I too love their biers (generally a Helles or Pilsener) in summer, winter, autumn & spring as well as Gluhwine in winter and the occasional schnapps. Looking forward to your next presentation.
