halfasheep Personally I hate Ktm, everyone always hypes the bikes. Yeah their a little lighter, and a tad bit more power. But the overall reliability compared to Yamaha, is terrible to be honest. Plus its a good amount more for the Ktm and Husquarvana. Personally overall bikes Yamaha is way better. 🤙
Get the ECU re-mapped and that power will remain linear and sweet but with more meat and torque everywhere. That's what I did to my factory edition. Same motor. They all come from the factory lean everywhere. Don't know why these testers are not picking that up wit the amount of bikes they ride.
I think they try and test them 100% stock. I'm pretty sure they do this on the shoot outs they do as well. That's why I like Racer X's dialed in videos because they will make changes like most consumers will anyways. Testing 100% stock is a waste IMO.
I have a 09 yz450 myself. I been trying to make myself buy a new bike for 3 years now. I been waiting on electric start. Im on the fence between yz, crf, kx 450. I want the reliability of the yamaha motor. But im liking the handling characteristics of the kawasaki. I've figured its better to waite till about january to get a '19. You usually save a couple thousand. I saved $2,400 on my yz because i bought it 09 in july 2010. I only paid $5,000 out the door.
Just throwing this out there. I ride with alot of offroad guys. Everybody always picks on the ktm guys because tbey always have bike problems. Shifter splines and other odd things strip out from what i've seen. I dont want one because of the steel frame. They stretch if you keep a bike for more than a year and rattle like a bucket of bolts after alot of riding. Aluminum just stays more solid feeling and parts dont rattle.

It’s four or five gears ? Just eu ktm is four ?
US model is a 5-speed. Europe spec is a 4-speed, we're not to sure about Australia.
