It's amazing to me how huge these 7"s were to a small group of people. Skating til 2:00 am, coming home konking on the floor listening to this on repeat drenched in sweat, cold night air.
Me and You is pure gold, full stop. That pickup toward the end makes me wish it were just a little longer to see what else they could have thrown in. Ian is a genius and everyone else on this record did an absolutely amazing job. The mouth percussion is also a cool addition lol
"Me and You" is one of my all-time favorite Ian MacKaye songs- a dreamy, trancy, post-punk masterpiece. I never tire of this song. The Allmusic reviewer gives it short shrift and sings the praises of "We All Fall Down". Musical tastes are highly subjective, but I respectfully say he's got it backward.
Just heard egg hunt 7” first time in 30 years, still magic! Loved all he did pre “red medicine “ but never heard Pailhead. 52 and still adore global HC/ punk! Craig Anderson Alford Scotland
egg hunt - me and you 7" 2358pm 28.1.23 some came to the conclusion (old slap hands from wayyyy back) that whichever essence of celebrity culture you indulge with - whether it be hollywood glitz and glam or down at heel alleged indie musicians and the like that the same noncey refrain is hit upon.... and at the end of the day are you clued up enough or eager enough to uncover the filth of this or that celeb or musical icon? "in search of the quiet life..." i enjoy this guy and his desire to create music music music... as i desire to listen listen listen.
I had this and lent it to a friend. His dad got mad at him and threw all his punk rock stuff away, including this. Have not heard it since 1987? Thanks!

Dude. Great summary. That was me hahaha!
Teen Idols, Minor Threat, Embrace, Egghunt, Pailhead, Fugazi, ect... Ian is gold.
Teen idles are great.
Don't forget The Slinkees
To my eyes the most unexpectable is the one with al jourgensen
I love SKEWBALD
@@aymericdalmas6912 that one is awesome 😎
Bought this when it came out and it still stands up today.

Agree with this totally.
It's so focused and brimming with ideas, brilliantly played and well produced. The change in pace is incredible. Just pure punk rock class😎
Could be a number 1 if promoted
I love both tracks. "We All Fall Down" is tremendous, and it's influence is pretty underappreciated.
Both are just as brilliant
Ian Mackaye, discord bathroom security camera. He was ahead of the game when it came to survalance
He was just hunting for eggs, silly. It even says so on the jacket.
@@HipsterEatinShark eggs? Is that what he calls them?
Just makin sure the girls weren’t changing into skirts at the Discord House party!
"Me and you" kinda reminds me to Cherub rock from the Smashing Pumpkins. Love both songs
Delighted. Like his Embrace LP to hear this again after 30 years is amazing. Thank you You Tube and Dischord records. No Sell Out. Magic.
Jane's Addiction bit Egg Hunt. The intro of Up The Beach sounds just like intro for Me And You .
Yep.
Indeed
There's a lot of JA's shirts in the movie instrument, fugazi's and JA's fanbases seemingly overlapped a lot.

We all fall down was on every mix tape I ever made - love it
dischord! the early sounds of Fugazi. You can tell where Ian was going with his sound
Don't forget Embrace
@@hankgege2199 without a doubt!
Way ahead of his time
Gang of Four influence.

Wowww wtf with the ouija comment
I cannot believe that I was unaware of this until a friend recommended it during the early days of the pandemic.
Lance Mountain 411 VL 4 Best Of brought me here.
SO good. when i was youth, yep. forever
if you like this don't miss Ian singing in Embrace (1986 also) Before Fugazi.
"Building" is such an epic fucking track. The soundtrack of us skating thrashpot in Plano, TX '86.
@@JeffBoen the whole album is dope
I preferred Embrace to Fugazi if I'm honest. I feel Fugazi as a bit of a chore to listen to. I love this Egg Hunt album though!
Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone else about this. It's our little secret.
Ian the Ceiling Cat is watching you.
Ian macaye is watching

Still have the 7 inch. Cool record for it's era.
Clicked because of the ridiculous album art, stayed for the new music.
I had this and lent it to a friend. His dad got mad at him and threw all his punk rock stuff away, including this. Have not heard it since 1987? Thanks!
I think I would have flattened his dad's tires.

The beginning of EMBRACE and FUGAZI.
It’s the end of Embrace and the waiting room for Fugazi
I had this single.

Hunt for it...
I had this, too. It burnt up in a fire.
I swear to you that this is the last time I'll write this song.
Does anyone else recon it’s similar to pure morning by placebo?
