"Can you believe THIS is a Lexus".
Well, given that Lexus has built one of the most desirable supercars in existence (LFA), yes I can.
Lol Orwellian moment from the host 😂
haha good answer! I like the new lexus design language
💯
Good review! I test drove one of these a few weeks back and was blown away by how much fun and how much character Lexus has instilled in the LC500. It's comfortable, well built and luxurious like a Lexus but it sounds and revs out like a fire-breathing muscle car. By the way, your microphone really captured the sounds this car makes better than most other reviews i have watched. Nice work!
Best car of 2017. Its the perfect Luxury sport coupe... it comes off as an exotic car without the exotic car price. That interior is very exquisite.
LEXUS INFORM IS NOT BAD. I have used it and I have learned it in a few seconds it just like using a computer. Reviewers are over doing when they are complaining about the Lexus infotainment. Also please stop being shocked that this is a Lexus... the V10 LFA ? The RCF looks much meaner then this. The 2008 ISF was just as badass as this car ( not look wise ) and the latest GSF is sweet too. Lexus is not new to this.
After using every system on the market, Enform is well behind the competition in usability. Not in learning the system (that's easy) but in controlling and getting what you want out of it in an efficient manner. It takes far more attention to access even commonly-used features compared to other systems.
Driving Sports TV Lexus infotainment isn't the best but it also doesn't deserve the level of derogatory it gets on the internet by reviewers. It's just different from the competition which if Lexus copied, they would probably be criticized just as heavily.
Toyota4Life exotic car, lmfao. Just stop
Shawn Moses, you are right. This is not an exotic car. It is actually a R-exotic car ("R" for "Reliable").
killnetic bane may be an exotic for you but not for lexus.
The contents quality and professionalism in this channel is so amazing you guys deserve much more views and praise.
I'll for sure buy this car some day
You and me both. I have it as my S8 wallpaper and it's my dream to buy this car some day. Such a beautiful car.
me tooo, wish y all the best we ll make it one day
For 100K+ you'll have alot of choices.
After watching the review... i'd prefer the M4 for alot less. Better handling, faster, backseats and iDrive that's masterful.
If you're buying this car comfort is at the top of your list. I want something that looks different form everything out there but is sexy, comfortable and reliable. The M4 is everywhere and I'm not sure on its reliability.
Just watched Doug review this car and was wondering about the 8. This is an incredible car. Many of the same criticisms and positives. Thanks. I loved the high level of production. Cudos. Subscribed
Lexus won multiple awards Even the Grand Prix Award and JD Power Award (Top luxury seller)
Information system isn't as bad, I've used it and it gives you feedback as your using it .
As a noob you'd probably hate it, I wouldn't say it's crap though
The new Ls 500 infotainment system has hand recognition meaning u can type the letters or numbers. But to be honest there's no infotainment system that isn't distracting even a touch screen which in my opinion is the best option. I have been in several bmws and even when selecting basic functions with the I drive jog dial is distracting cause your eyes aren't on the road. I really don't get when some reviewers try to criticise some infotainment systems while praising others when they all suffer from the same issues apart from touch screens like what's on the new range rover Velar. The new range rover Velar in my opinion has the best infotainment system out now. A touch screen saves more time and won't distract u as much from the road. That's my personal experience, I'm not a fan of any system that isn't touch sensitive on the screen like smart phones.
I love how 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds isn't considered that quick. It's a lot quicker than the shitbox I drive :-)
Hahahahaha
I don't know why, but I love this car...
Wow!! Stunning vehicle!
A six speed manuel transmission would be the only thing that's missing.
Top Cars Channel Lexus prefer reliability
loo lolo manuels aren't unrealiable, they dont put a stick in it cause no one in the high price range buys stick
I tryed it and the infotainment is cool and I understood it in 5 minutes.. wtf is wrong with journalists!? " It sux" is not a professionnal attitude.
+loo lolo As journalists we also have the benefit of using all the other systems on the market. This one is well below where it should be. “Why” is detailed pretty specifically in the video.
Journalist cannot even operate a light switch, that's why the infotainment is difficult for them lol jk
Beautiful car and would be a blast to drive.
Thank you for your fast reply but,its not Red Sky by Dan Phillipson!
Right. Caught that right after posting. It's actually "Etherial Daydream" by Gentile Fire Studio.
Home at the car is cool you know I have a IS250 myself which is like the kid version
Nice car. They've got their shit together.
its a beauty , wow its a beauty OMG its a beautyWOW , its a beautySialara its a beauty
beautiful lecus sports car
You are dead wrong on the "Enform" system. The fact is you didn't do your homework and learn how to use it. Had you done so, you would have run the "SETUP" and selected your preferences. By doing this, 90% of the touchpad is eliminated. The touchpad can be set for sensitivity. Owners will....or should....spend some time learning the VOICE COMMAND portion of the system. Once you know how to do this properly, you almost never use the touchpad. The only item you'll need to program is the CLIMATE but if you select AUTO, the seats, AC, heat etc. will take care of themselves. I've had my LC500 for just over a year. It is so well thought out and so well made it blows EVERY OTHER CAR out of the water. As a reviewer, we all know you only get a limited time with the car but don't ruin it for other people by saying things that aren't true. I've watched several different reviews. One guy said you can't change the radio station while the car is moving. That's how stupid and lazy people can be. At $100k, this car is a bargain. It's better than anything made in Germany or the U.K.
You will spend little or no time at the dealers for repairs as opposed to those other high dollar cars. As good as this car looks on screen, it's even more impressive in person.
Love the LC500. Enform is crap when compared to other systems in the class. It didn't even have CarPlay when we filmed this review. We criticize because we care. Lexus needs to up their game (which has started to happen, finally.)
@@drivingsports I had Lexus install Apple Car Play when it first became available. I never use it because ENFORM works so well. But, that's because I learned VOICE COMMAND. For me, maybe not everyone, it's much easier to press one button and then say "RADIO, AM 710" that fiddling with a TOUCH SCREEN or any other type of pointer. Or, press a button and say "Turn on AC" or "Find a pizza restaurant" or "call my wife" or "Play The Eagles Hotel California". It does it all and works perfectly. I haver have to take my eyes off the road. It's just a personal choice but it's hard to understand why anyone would not want to do the easiest thing possible. As for criticizing because "we care", I just don't think that is fair. Lexus allowed you to drive their car and then give an honest opinion. How can you say you did that? An honest opinion about ENFORM would have been if you said you read the instructions, learned VOICE COMMAND and it didn't work or that you preferred to mess around with the trackpad because VOICE COMMAND didn't work. Not doing your part was unfair, bro'. There really is no other car that compares to the LC 500 when you consider the whole package. It's literally a perfect machine and so well built that it isn't going to cost the owner an arm and leg in repairs as do German...and other...expensive cars.
Nobody noticed the car has not tag plate on it. Against law
Manufacturer fleet plates don’t require tags. They change the actual plate every year.
When we run without plates at all it’s on closed roads. Exteriors are shot separately from interiors. So you can’t draw any conclusions as to where we drove with or without plates.
Bro, how does Toyota do this and get great MPG!!! Toyota all the way. This and my Trd Tundra Pro and I’m set!
10 speed gear box. My ISF has 8 speed gear box and last 2 gears are kinda like economy gears, meaning keep engine rev low.
@LUXURY AND SPORT'S.
Song name at 7:30,pleaseeeee!
best played back at 1.5x
No, it's not hard to believe.
Jaguar F Type "not considered to be fast off the line..." WTF are you smoking?
This thing is like a baby Lexus LFA.
103k for this??? no thanks. I would rather take a Alfa quad or M4 CP.
Horrible sound I loved it
3:03 I don't. You'll just get smoked in the Tesla.
S3 XY stfu and cease to exist
I hate how scripted he sounds... his speech cadence or something ... is just off.
Why do you put them shity plastic exhaust pipes on new cars today that s*** sucks
Talking about Lexus infotainment (THAT IS CRAP!) LMAO
Ya Allah bs ni us nana
This car should have been the new Supra
haters pro germans hates that this car won the full design awards in 2017. I can hear them crying at night 😂
No one's crying about this car, but it is very nice. I'm waiting for the LC-F version.
I'll take an AMG GTS up against this car any day.
@@MrNosreme70 amg gts is an abomination... That thing literally sucks in design... Aside from that it's a really fun car to drive tho
Hard to believe it's a Lexus? From the same company that made the LFA?
Be careful when you compare a $100K car with a $400K car. It's rarely going to favor the $100K car.
By all means I'm not comparing those two cars, what I'm saying is that Lexus knows how to make a sports cars - that has been proven already. They haven't done it that frequently is another story, but they know how to do it.
Jose C. A lot of reviewer are on copy/paste/repeat when it comes to Lexus reviews. It's a manipulative way to keep Lexus image stagnant amongst readers.
I guess it's like the volume knob on Honda's, I got exhausted of listening to the same from every reviewer.
LFA isn't really a full run production car though, the lC500 is, and LC-F will also be.
I'm loving the new Lexus, as a company they are making more exciting looking and performing automobiles.
This car is a piece of design... such unique et superb car.
There seems to be a policy amongst auto journalists to dislike the infotainment system, just like there is a policy amongst Star Wars fans to dislike the prequels. Not an original, self-formed opinion in sight.
+Lasse J. Nordvik when something is bad, it’s pretty easy for everyone to dislike it.
+Lasse J. Nordvik PS: the prequels are also awful. Don’t even get me started. -RD
If they dislike it, there must definitely a reason.
Auto enthusiasts, of which most auto journalists are, believe the car is the entertainment.
Somebody else usually makes the Nav or phone interface. That part is not Ferrari or Porsche DNA.
So who really cares?
Would you buy a car based on its hard drive size?
Or pixel count?
Lexus is the most reliable cars.
Vong Taing mazda is the most reliable
mazda is a wanna be---- always was--- always will be
People that buy cars like this aren't one-dimensional, i.e. they don't just look at reliability. These people have something that most Toyota buyers lack and that is a passion for driving. They wan't reliability plus a great driving car. Leave the penny-pinching, miserly, I-only-want-reliability types to the plethora of bland Toyotas available.
@@korgond Hope you don't really mean this
rolla u guys are incredibly stupid. Lexus is the best reliable makes. Mazda makes the most unreliable rotarys and also their models dont last half a million miles like most lexuses do
I am going to become a day trader/investor or lottery winner after seeing this car.
I saw it too.
Which do you think I'll become?
Unless you have over 20 years of experience being a trader you will get smashed big time. Be prepared to lose money. Only 5% of day traders make serious money 5% make decent money and 90% lose money.
I love the info system !! You just need to learn , no ugly paw prints on screen !!!!
The thing i like about my lexus is the touch pad i don't have to put my hand on the screen like other vehicles and the best is the huge grill at the front. Also lexus has the best technology in the competition
Hands-free voice control deserves high praise in this car as it relegates the hands-on control to less then 20% of operations. I speak from experience as I’ve own an LC for a few months now
Standard review, must hate on something. Oh I forgot, yea the info sytstem sucks. There I will be accepted by my peers. Real world buyers on the other hand. I got used to it in 2 days.
The navigation legitimately trails behind all other cars in this class. Getting used to it doesn’t change that fact.
@@drivingsports who sets the standards? Buyers? Reviewers? Ansewer neither. It is subjective to the design engineers. One may not like it. That doesn't really mean anything. People didn't like seat belts. How did that turn out. Is it effective, yes. Is it useful and does it function reliably and thoroughly, yes, yes, and yes again. Perhaps we can respectfully disagree. I've used them all. They all have a break in periods from a buyers perspective. From a reviewer's perspective uniqueness doesn't automatically equate to lacking or fallen behind, inferior or some would sucks. Buyers at this price point are very loyal across the industry. Lexus buyers are familiar with this system. Just as BMW, MB buyers are with their's. Designer's don't follow trends. They set them and stick by them. Spindle grill ring a bell. Did Lexus scrap it? I'm going to tell you a secret that very few people know. Lexus's designer's enjoy giving the world the proverbial "middle finger" and to those that would say change that. 30 years on and Lexus history is well established and littered with awards in countless categories. A global brand that has sold millions of vechicles. Name 1 other luxury car company that was born in the last 30 years thats done the same......I'll wait.
Randy Watson right now the $20,000 Toyota Corolla has a better nav system than the $100,000 LC (updated graphics and added Apple CarPlay.) You’re honestly okay with that?
@@drivingsports This statement just proves your uninformed. What reviewer pulled that opinion out of their ass. Like I said. I stated my opinion. We disagree. No one sets the rules about what info/nav systems do or how they should work. When the world gets a "High Council " overlord on nav/info systems I'm sure you"ll be on it. Telling Lexus they should be like everyone else. Lexus buyers at this price don't mind I guess. The LC500 is selling quite well.
Japanese Cars and Korean Cars is so much better and best design ever!!!!
they are the best unlike American junk
james bailey
Awww........you must really hate Amurrica?
Prabash Paul C.P.3
Learn proper English grammar.
amurica is fucked and terrorist country
j high.. are you amuricanif you are .. well ... go to the hell fire ,
This is the best luxury Coupe ever 🔥
Which is better 911 carrera or lc500???
annoying presentation
I disagree with him on the navigation
If i had the $$ ill buy a tesla roadster
LEXUS taking the fuck over!! 😊😊
Another reviewer who has REFUSED to spend any time at all learning the ENFORM program. They all jump the gun and assume the Lexus engineers are a bunch of Bozos and know nothing about computers. WRONG!! The entire ENFORM program is wonderful but you have to spend some time learning it. If you don't do that, you've missed the whole point about owning and driving such a great car. I've had my LC 500 just over two months and have spent time with the system. I'm still not 100% but I'm getting there. Most of the settings you actually do in the "Setup". Anything else you need to do you can do with VOICE COMMANDS or buttons on the steering wheel and you never have to take your eyes off the road. The LC 500 is quite possibly the nicest car available on the market. It's a work of art and a joy to drive. It's fairly economical....considering and it is a Toyota at heart so you know you've got excellent reliability. If you actually go drive this car and don't fall in love with it immediately, I would be shocked!!!
My next car
james bailey No thank you
why , don't u like free stuffreally .. I will buy it for you , im a rich guy living in Becon Valley
james bailey I'm rich too buddy
Anyone who gets the black or grey interior is losing out on where alot of the value in this car is, look at the interior options they're possibly the best offered for a car in it's range
Great review. Currently have RC350 F-sport and in 2-years next one will be the LC 500 (maybe LCF) ;)
2:25 Was the money shot! Made the whole video worth it. Can't wait to get mine and do that!
How disappointing, all black interior on such an expensive car.
you guys would pay 100k for this over a tesla model s or x? c'mon!
This should be next bond car after aston martin.
hate a noisy car.... have the rc f sport gorgeous!
I like this guy! Much more refreshing than bad breathe "Doug score" Dueshce.
This best model in the company v8
Its looks like italian car..
Oh man... If I had the money... absolutely my favorite car in it's class, I'd have the LC500 over anything out there in the same class and price range. This car is just different in a very good way... not perfect, I could point out some flaws... but I'd still have those flaws over anything other manufacturers have to offer.
Love the exterior/interior, but it's literally almost 1000lbs heavier than a 911.
Leo Fields 911’s are very light
It's basically an LFA if you really think about it just watered down and horsepower and more focus on interior not really performance.... I'm pretty sure they're going to come out with another model later down the years that put out more horsepower that focus is not just on interior but also overall performance at least that's what I'm hoping till then this young man will continue being a Porsche fanatic
Get real. It nothing even close to an LFA. Sheesh. It's a big, heavy, front-engined GT.
WHAT???
Not made of carbon.
8 cylinders instead of 10
1/4 the price and whoever wants one can have one.
NO LFA DNA.
Nice car
awesome car
Super
Hold up, the door handle is straight from a model 3, wow. I just saw one this morning. I'll keep looking but it's a big car and I'm not paying $100k for it
This car's design was made public in 2012. The Model 3 wasn't even a glimmer in Musk's eye at that point. Who is copying who? Also, GT-R had similar handles even sooner -- 2007. I'm sure there are many other examples of flush pullers, but those are what come to mind.
Driving Sports TV cool, ideas just mentioning it. Shit, my wrx and civic mirrors look the same and that small triangle glass
If there is one "car" company stealing designs, its Tesla. Model S straight took designs from modern mazda's, even the tail lights are from the 2008 mazda 6
@ciga daze ok,
@ciga daze I seen the car, looks great
I think the paddle shifters are magnesium rather than titanium as stated in the video. I could be wrong...
+Iggi Valencia You are correct.
Then they are flammable.
If Ti they wouldn't be.
God forbid one ignite!
This is what you want to take your prom date in.
To the prom?
Can’t you at least mention the price tag…
It's right in the description.
Ha ha. I have a 2004 LS430. Have they changed the NAV system since then?
It's higher resolution now.
why you didn't
It totally changed. The journalist is an idiot.
Have you moved to another planet?
This one hasn't changed much since 2004.
I would definitely buy this car if the starting price is around $75K, same as the Audi RS5. I like the quality and reliability is way much better but Audi is more fun to drive.
you re not supposed to play with the nav system while rolling , genius
i would spend 100k on it plus i love other car brands because i became mechanic loving cars not brands
"It's hard to believe, but true"
You know what else is true? You can get a Mustang/Camaro/Challenger for a quarter of the price with the same/more power...
-2 gears (10 are a lot)
+2 turbochargers
+ 4-wheel drive
same design and same price
and we would talk about the perfection.
Georges K nah. Having na and 2 wheel drive makes for a slower yet better driving experience
I’d rather buy a corvette
Mid life crisis.
I test drove the LC 500 today and I can tell you that for $100k and 4 seats, I was NOT impressed. Why?
1) Poor resale value
2) No sunroof
3) I hate the Lexus computer Automatic Trans shifter because it physically does not move. Also to park, you have to visually find the P button in the console. Then to put it into drive, I can't feel the D, I have to visually see on the dash that I moved it into P and it's a weird movement in which I have to move the lever left then move it down.
4) No Apple Carplay.
5) If you're gonna have 4 seats, my head should not be hitting the back window.
6) Weird that there's 2 color stitching
7) Cupholder with a water bottle blocks a/c controls
8) Radar detector cord must be long and drag all the way back to the cigarette jack in the center console, just in front of the back seats.
9) No flat bottom steering wheel
10) Getting out of the back seat was almost impossible and I'm 47.
mrpmj00 that's it!!!! Car should be $60k
I disagree with both of you while I can agree this isn't the best value, it is a car that is of it's design, the interior options are the best looking interior color options ever in my opinion, better than a rolls Royce , it's a luxury touring AND SPORTS coupe it doesn't need any more power than it has, and it's one of a kind body and design is out of concepts people have begged for , for years, at 100k it's cheaper than anybody ever thought these style of cars would be, the corvette is a very real bang for your buck, however, this car offers things a Corvette or Porsche 911 never will and in that respect it earns a spot as top priority in new cars I would actually buy, I can get a used 911 I can get any year used corvette, this car is truly something so speacial and ofcourse unique to itself that, there is no replacement there is no second best , if I want this car and I do, it's this car and only this car that will fill that speacial spot in the garage set aside specifically for an lc500 it's like the love of my car life, it can't be substituted for anything else and that's something NO CAR COMPANY CAN DO AT ALL THESE DAYS EVERYTHING IS A COPY EVERYTHING IS NEW ENGINEERING WITH SOME NEW BODY KITS!!!!!, this despite having many faults on paper is a 100k$ car that offers everything i could ever ask for in a daily driver, with the looks of a 400k LFA super car which despite being an amazing track car is complete un necassary as a daily driver, track day car wippee, for a daily driver this car is top of the pyramid Dynamics
mrpmj00 who buys a sports car and expects back seat room?
Poor resale value, where? You’ve seen them for sale used already?
mrpmj00 Still waiting for an answer. How can you claim your #1 dislike is the poor resale value on a brand new model that most people have never seen? Lexus are one of best cars for holding value, even a 10 year old SC 430, a horrible car, is selling for over $25K. Wow the rear seat in this sports coupe is cramped, what a shocker!
Looks nice, yes. Would i pay 100 grand for it ? Nah. Looks like your regular luxury coupe..nothing special in the powertrain or other compartment. Only vehicle I would pay 100 grand plus for is a high performance Porsche, Ferrari or other track level supercar. This lexus..nah
Nathaniel's Phone actually said "100 grand +. U prefer a lexus to a porsche..good for u!
Nathaniel's Phone hooray..good for u
dex b you don't even have 100k to pay for it lol
Huge, heavy, hideous, and lacking in low-end torque. I can't image who would want to buy it, unless they like the style and want to be seen in it. Spend a little more and get a 911.
this is a LUXURY GRAND TOURER, not a hardcore supercar, DUMBASS
Get a benz! Lexus is an overpriced toyota😂👎🏼
thareallest23 Can't tell if you're serious, is so then you can't call yourself a car enthusiast.
thareallest23 lmfao, benz only good until the warranty runs out
thareallest23 well a 911 is an overpriced beetle tho, lining it up with ur thought
The M-B depreciation, TCO, and, relative numbers that end up back on the selling block (plenty) says that many disagree with you.
