Great investment on the rake. Nice to have that visibility of rake. The one I used was an 8 ft mounted on sizeable JD tractor 3 PT hitch. Sixty acre hay field, positioned seat at 90° set hand throttle. Unscreened topsoil windrows picked up. Level rockless field to mow and bale.
A treat for us on a Sunday no less! Thank you. Question is, I thought I saw (only 2 quick glimpses) of the bucket on the KUBOTA "TILT" ? Did it? Anyway, really super job in short order. All your videos have the best looking topsoil... where are your projects done? Im in VA and havent seen that kind around here. Excellent video and commentary!
My first watch today was this favorite of yours. Love the power rake, the topsoil is the best, your commentary and strategy I enjoy and the finished product looks greqt!
@@fuddmethen I have spread just with the Harley rake but it makes such a mess on the rake and put so much dirt in wheels it would destroy it over time.
Great job Mike, looking good! That rake sure makes it look easy. :) I'd also like to thank you for using different camera angles and time lapse. I know it adds time, both on site and in editing, but I personally get bored real quick if someone posts a video where the only content is 30+ minutes shot from within the cab, in real time, and nothing else. I know a lot of people enjoy that, but I prefer this type of video where I can see the progress and the important steps along the way.
I agree with Martin Edelius. I also become bored quickly watching a video is POV with no commentary or explanation. The different angles, time lapse and your excellent narration draw me into the video. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a Harley rake in action. A lot of people would just show the rake in action. No explanation, no narration, no nothing. Your explanation made all the difference. I mean I could figure it out without the explanation, but why spend time guessing. This is what gives you the edge, the willingness to share your expertise and knowledge without acting as if it’s some kind of top secret. That’s what passion is all about, and it’s that passion for what you do that made me subscribe, keep me coming back, and recommending you to everyone I know. True story: One of my friends questioned my taste when I recommenced you. His attitude was why should he waste his time watching something he normally doesn’t find appealing. I told him to give you a chance. You cover every step of the project and explain not only what is b in done, but WHY it is being done. Long story short, he’s hooked and subscribed. He’s binge watching your past videos. Says they’re really compelling. All I could say was, “I told you so.”
Nice video! Was also grading a yard today trying to beat the rain. Unfortunately I found a stump and broke the wheel arm off of my Harley Rake. Hard to finish it off with one arm!
Good Video tutorial on the Harley. I have one too on my Terex, however in Australia it isn't a well known attachment unfortunately. I love it. Can I ask why most Americans use a GP bucket on skidsteers rather than 4in1 buckets which would then allow you to use a spreader bar. Game changer
There’s no doubt about it mike your company does beautiful work!!! Your also very lucky to have good versatile labor hand. I have a question I’ve never ran a skid with a Harley rake attachment. What’s the average size lift you install top soil.
According to the rake mfg the proper way to take is to roll pressure on to the front wheels and raise the front of the machine up slightly then lower the rake until it just touching the keep the adjustment for the whole job.
I wish I could find someone in my area that would provide this service. Every time I ask a landscape company about a Harley rake or cultivator, they look at me like I’m crazy. Should I be researching excavation companies instead?
@@DIRT-BOSS This looks like new construction. Do you guys do this for existing lawns? My builder SUCKED at installing my lawn. I was planning to kill and till… but the Harley rake seems like the way to go.
Looks fantastic. The piece of land between the culvert and the road, is that getting any work done on it? Does the home owner plan on maintaining it himself ?
QQ. Do you ever use the float mode when you are running the HR? I bought one about 2 months ago, I am still getting used to it and fine tuning my skills with it. Thanks in advance... 👍👍
Dirt Boss, I have a few questions if you happen to have a minute. I was wondering if you operate the rake in float all the time? Also is a tilt bucket or a tilt coupler? Also I just bought an svl95, it has 50 hrs, when I push down on the bucket and lift up on the front of the machine the bottom of bucket plate and the bottom of coupler seperate a 1/4-1/3 inch on the right side. I know usually when you do this the pins slide out a smidge but I have never noticed the gap between bottom of plate and coupler. My dealer is saying its normal but I don't know. -Charles Bourgeois Jr Down to Earth Landscaping LLC Lebanon, Connecticut
Hey bud. Yeah there should be no play vertically in that plate.. I don't use the Harley rake and float ever it likes to dig in if you do that.. just do it by feel and eye.. the tilt bucket is an attachment between the bucket and the plate.. it's made by paladin.
