They helped themselves and indirectly helped the division too. That has been the case throughout history. Trish & Lita did the same thing too. So why bother even bringing that up.

In truth Sasha and Bayley are the TWO reasons that Women's Wrestling is what it is today; and Charlotte as well, but it started with the two aforesaid women. Not to mention, I NEVER heard Nikki speak up and champion for the women to be taken seriously when she held the title not in her 10-year career. She was happy then, so I feel her remarks about that are disingenuous, especially talking about Rousey when that or she had NOTHING to do with Women's Wrestling; then she illumines Total Divas as helping people desire women's wrestling. So, how a "reality-based" (SCRIPTED) TV show garnered women's wrestling is inaccurate to say the least, because Wrestling fans are NOT watching scripted reality shows based in teen-age drama. Also, "40% of the fans in attendance are women" [?]. 80% are males between 30-45 years old, so about 20% are children and females.
Paige and Emma were the ones to start this women's evolution because their match was the match that had people talking about the potential the women could have and that allowed the 4HW to push the limits. When ever Nikki and Brie were doing a panel at Comic Con they always expressed that they wanted more the divas division and they spoke out on twitter back in 2011on how WWE mistreated the women and advocated for the indy/experienced girls to be hired. Total Divas, whether you believe it or not, did help the women on the show gain popularity and grow a fan base that they weren't able to do with the 3 minutes of TV time they got on RAW.
Andres Zurita Yes, Paige and Emma were the first in NXT, but Paige came up and got thrown into the Divas BS, and so went her career, and look what they did to Emma, so them having one match in NXT is a weak juxtaposed. Further, them making Tweets "on how WWE mistreated the women and advocated for the indy/experienced girls to be hired" has two flaws; one, the mistreatment of women pertains to the representation of women and not wrestling, second, them supposedly "advocating for indy/experienced girls to be hired," is prior to FCW becoming NXT, and thus, women were barely wrestling then, so who were they talking about? She would have not known of Bayley or Sasha as they were just starting...
In their tweets they were questioning why the WWE hasn't hired Sara Del Rey and why did they release Mickie James, Melina and Gail Kim. It seems like you just want to give Bayley and Sasha all the credit. Yes they are amazing wrestlers and a big reason why the women division has change but you can't over look everybody else's contribution or efforts to contribute.
Andres Zurita I am not overlooking anyone's accomplishments; the Bellas do not have any ones except for what VKM/WWE contrived for them; further, "their" Tweets are contrived by the WWE for the most part; do you not notice all the marketing and campaigning in them? And again, they never (i.e., the Bellas) EVER talked about all these people you are stating that they underscored in any interview; it was always about them and what they accomplished. They only jumped on the bag-wagon about real wrestlers when the fans pinned for Bayley and Sasha; that is them trying to remain in good standing with the Universe, much like all of JC's pandering to the crowd in every show: it's lame...as well as phony.
FaceMan Buddha sorry but you really sound ignorant. To base the ENTIRE movement on only 2 wrestlers is ridiculous. I can tell you right now my older sister always made fun of me for watching wrestling calling it "fake" and stupid. Being the reality tv junkie she is, she fell in love with total divas and started watching wrestling mainly for the women. That was 2 years ago and now she's been to 5 PPV's and 3 live shows and watches raw and smackdown weekly. That was only one example out of I'm sure thousands of people (male and female) who watch total divas. I didn't pay attention to the women at NXT until Becky and Sasha had their match at one of the takeovers and it blew my mind that NXT was even considered developmental. May I remind you also that Give Divas A Chance was trending world wide for 3 straight days right after the Bella's match against Paige and Emma that lasted 30 seconds! My point is that just because you like Bayley and Sasha and they're what keep you entertained, don't undermine other people's opinions when they're fans of the Bella's or whoever because they're what keep them entertained. It was the women at NXT and the main roster combined that started this movement and it's stupid to ignore everyone else's contribution.
